I stopped in as I was passing through town and needed to grab some lunch. The yelp review indicated this would be a good choice. I found the ambience to be very much and mom and pop Mexican food joint. It was clean inside and the service was friendly and quick. I chose a three enchilada lunch special plate that came with rice and beans. The rice is a type that I seem to have had many other Mexican joints, kind of fluffy rather uneventful. I'm not really a rice person so I basically only had a couple of bites and decided it just wasn't worth all the carbs. The refried beans were quite runny and spread thin on the plate so it covered a lot of real estate but there wasn't much there. The enchiladas on the other hand I felt like we're decent. I got a combination of beef, chicken and cheese. I think I like the chicken the best. All this food was served hot, on a hot plate. I greatly appreciate that. read more

The dining room was neat and tidy. We were promptly greeted and our orders were quickly taken. I ordered their Guisado De Res En Salsa Verde O Roma. It was served in a timely manner and was at a good temperature. The dish was very good. Sadly, it's not offered at very many Mexican restaurants. This is a place for a repeated visit. read more

This restaurant is incredible. It's a family run, no-frills authentic Mexican restaurant. I ordered the steak Ranchero with shrimp, the meal was amazing. I am new in town and decided to give this place a try. There are a lot of options depending on what you are looking for when you go. I opted for the taco salad with steak and as I waited, I munched on the chips and salsa. The chips were nice and crispy but not overly salty and the salsa was amazing. It wasn't chunky but was packed with lots of flavor with a kick to it. The salsa was mild enough that if you don't like spicy you would be fine but had enough for awesome flavor. The taco salad was a pretty good size, definitely bigger than Qdoba has! There was beans, cheese, lettuce, guac, and of course the steak. The steak was grilled and seasoned so perfectly though that it absolutely made the dish! It was almost like it was taken off the grill and just sliced into thin slices and added to the salad which was delicious! There was enough food that I could not eat it all and I did not even eat all of my chips/salsa. If you get this as a lunch instead of dinner it is $2 cheaper, which is pretty cool. They have a variety of jarrito drinks and even horchata, but even though I have not had it yet I am sure it is just as delicious. AUTHENTIC AUTHENTIC AUTHENTIC! I was able to snag a steak and chorizo lunch with FRESH homemade refried beans, real fresh corn tortillas, and more. Plenty of fresh salsas, hot sauces, and Mexican soda. No alcohol, that's my only wish that was missing. Located downtown in town square and a must try if you're in the Altus OK area. Use the Green Sauce!!! I've been here twice in a week now, because the place is low key, cheap and delicious! The Mexican food is authentic and non-pretentious. It's just good food and great prices!! It's located right on the town square of Altus, OK, so it's a quaint location (relatively). I've had the soft-taco plate and the Chimichanga plate, both only $6.50 for lunch, and only a dollar more at dinner. See my first line; Use the Green Sauce! I had the chicken enchiladas and it came with 3 enchiladas, a side of beans, & a side of rice. The enchiladas were veryyy good they came with a red salsa and a green, The red salsa was perfect 5/5 it had the right about of spice to it not to much not to little. Unfortunately I didn't try the green salsa because I didn't notice it in the bag until I was finished. The beans were good 4/5 very good the only reason it's not five out of five is because they got dry quick. And the rice honestly 2/5 it was fine when you ate it with the other items but by themselves very plain and just not good. Overall this play is 4/5 I would definitely go back. read more

I ordered to go. The online menu did not reflect the current menu at the restaurant due to new owners. The prices are slightly higher now. I ordered the chimichanga and it was good. The tortilla was crispier, the way I like it. I wish it was a bit more of a larger portion for the price. read more

Solid Mexican food option in Altus! I like their chips and salsa and chicken fajitas. There's enough in a single order to feed two if you order extra tortillas and chips/salsa. Their "hot" version of salsa can get ya. The green sauce is like an avocado mix, not guac, but tasty. Our go-to Mexican place every couple weeks, for sure. read more

It's a taqueria, and that's what they shine at. Seriously, I get 4 every time I come here. I haven't gotten anything else, and I've always been blown away. Their chips and salsa are mediocre at best (they should find the owners of Pico and partner with them), and I can't really speak to their other menu items. Their tacos are phenomenal, authentic Mexican food. Get em in corn tortillas. Also, as another reviewer pointed out - use the green sauce. I have no clue what it is, but it's delicious. read more
