Stopped here on our way back to Dallas for breakfast with a party of 7. Despite the amount of people waiting, we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be sat. The staff was extremely nice and the coffee was 10/10. The pancakes were also some of the best I've ever had. Not a single drink went empty at our table. Been a frequent patron of this establishment for over four years now, sadly I will never go back not because of the food but the horrible customer service. There was a mistake on a to go order which was fine, its Sunday at noon and its busy.. However I called to let them know of the mistake and got a return call from a manager to not offer a solution but to say that we were wrong and the cooks were right which is completely incorrect. We placed the order on the phone, the lady read everything back correctly, when we picked it up it was wrong. Of course my wife and I didn't realize this until we got home to eat. Anyway the "manager" offered a 99 cent refund on the missing Ingredients from my order which is a slap in the face for messing up the entire order in the first place. I will be sure to spread the word to coworkers that this place is awful and does not care about their customers. This place gets 5 out of 5. I know omelettes are cooked to order but usually it is a ladle of prestirred eggs. If you order shell egg omelet hardly ever cooked right. This one was fresh. We go to Aricelli's often, usually for breakfast. Their omelets and hot cakes are phenomenal. I have also had lunch there and have had zero complaints; big groups not a problem. The staff is always friendly and the service is fast and always correct. This is by far one of our favorite breakfast spots. Don't pass these guys up, stop in and see. read more

I had just reached the apex of my trip from South Texas to Altus OK and decided to have an omelet for breakfast. Araceli's offered several options of omelets (hopefully some better than the one I had) I am certain that the cook didn't season the food at all. The hash browns were the least inedible part of the meal, I used them to cover the almost rotten taste in the eggs because the toast provided was not doing a good enough job in that, as even the toast had an odd flavor. I did not finish the food and when I was given my ticket, they gave me someone else's ticket that was for a whole family's breakfast. They were polite and apologetic about the error and fixed it promptly. Lastly, when I arrived there was no one to seat me. An employee showed up to work late and sat me then took my drink order. While waiting for my coffee (it didn't take long) another server came and asked nner what I wanted to drink. I told her I had already been taken care of and she got upset at the woman that had seated me. My suggestion, never let the customer see things like that. read more

Stop in for a early lunch during a trip to Altus AFB. Had the chicken enchilada lunch special w/ red sauce; $6.25, which is very reasonable. I also threw in a ham and egg breakfast taco. Food was good; not awesome, but good. My particular waitress must specialize in stealth, because once she gave me my food; I didn't see her again. But like I said; the food was good and at a really good price. But I just came from San Antonio TX; so my assessment of Mexican is slightly skewed. read more

This is where the original Denny's was in Altus, and the man who transformed this building into a fine breakfast and lunch eatery was amazing. He also owns The Plaza on Main Street in Altus. This location, however, serves some amazing breakfasts with military discounts on everything but the specials on the whiteboard [but they DO come with coffee]. The staff are extremely friendly and come over to refill your mugs full of coffee even if you have a full pot o nthe table, they go beyond normal 'service'. It's quality service. Their prices are very affordable, and weekly specials are under $5 [not including tax]. They have an amazing "Pile-Up" which has biscuits, hasbrowns, sausage patties, eggs [cooked to order] topped with country gravy. They allow substitutions too, i ncase you're lactose-intolerant or just want something unique. It's $3.99 and a really sweet deal. Their menu is big, but not so big you get lost reading it, ha ha. All in all, I can see why people say this is the best breakfast and lunch eatery in town. Because it's got good food, qualtiy service, and affordable prices. Machaca! Maaachacaaa! Thats what I had. With Salsa Verde mmmmmm. Its rare in this part of the country that you get what is advertised. Araceli's does exactly that. Just look at the hours of operation 0600 to 1400. That's it, breakfast and or a decent lunch. They specialize, keep it simple and cook ok. I actually had the enchiladas one time and they were not great, my wife liked them though. I'm actually not impressed with their prices either. They are a little steep for what you get and the portions of say potatoes are a little different every time you order, sometimes you get a carb overload sometimes not. BUT overall its cooked ok, service is great and....and.....and.... that's it! Wow how about that. Thaaaaats it. hmhu hum humm de dum hmmmmmmm. Best breakfast spot in town! I love their biscuits and gravy and they have great burritos too. I don't find that their prices are high as stated below by some other reviewers- I'll gladly pay extra for food that taste home cooked than something cheaper from a drive through. I came from California where I got great Mexican food. Sorry, but I had not had any good Mexican breakfast burrito's here in Altus, OK until I went to Araceli's. Their egg, sausage, cheese, add potato burrito is to die for don't. Don't forget the hot sause. Service is quick and awesome. Came in and ordered breakfast for myself and my 7 yr old. I asked for kids pancakes and 2 egg breakfast. The lady brought out a giant adult meal for my son and said she thought since I said my son also wanted eggs, that we meant we wanted a full size meal. That platter cost more than mine. Why would I order something like that for a child? Why not say "hey, that doesn't come with eggs" and offer to just add an egg to his 2.99 kid meal or I could have even said, "ok I'm fine with it not coming with eggs". But she didn't ask, she went ahead and ordered a full adult meal instead and said she thought it's because I said I want "the hot cake platter". I told her it's not up to the customer to know their lingo and that I specifically pointed and looked right at the kids menu and said kid's pancakes. We just ate what we could and paid for the food but I just want the waitresses to be a little more educated and ask questions or ask for clarification before they go adding to a customer's bill like that. Or use common sense. My main issue was that the management I spoke to about it did not seem sincere when she apologized and didn't look like she would actually talk to the waitresses about it. All I ask is that they try to show some concern for customers and try to correct it so it doesn't happen again. read more
