The interior decor resembles that of Sicily and the Italian music can only help but make one smile. The service was friendly and quick to take your order. I had the lasagna which was rich and flavorful. The main area for improvement is the house salad and bread rolls that accompany the main dish, which was essentially old lettuce and a somewhat hard roll. But overall the restaurant experience was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant if you happen to be in Altus.

Or maybe it was just her tummy. Either way, I knew that we were never going to make it to Wichita Falls and pleaded with my wife to find an acceptable alternative. Five minutes later we were pulling into the parking lot of an Italian Pizzeria named Benito, deep in the heart of Texas. First impressions were extremely positive. The place was a sort of mix of bar and pizza joint and we were shown to a comfortable dining room and given top-notch service. Complimentary garlic knots with a light, simple crusty bread came a few minutes later, and my starving teenager ordered shrimp fettucini alfredo. I quizzed the waitress to see if she would recommend the chicken parmigiana or the Philly Cheese Steak. She sided with the steak sandwich. My wife and the ten-year-old both got pizzas, which looked and smelled amazing. My sandwich showed up a few moments later, stuffed full of sauteed onion, pepper, and thin slices of steak, topped with melted provolone. The ingredients were fresh and well cooked. But I admit there was something missing in the overall compliment. I would have liked some mayo in there. The sandwich needed the moisture and it would have helped combine the flavors better than just the cheese. I know... I should have asked for some... Why the low rating when the food tasted good? Well, a trip to the restrooms definitely altered my perceptions. Both the men's and women's lavatories were infested with flies. Lots and lots of them. And as we ate, a few of them came out to inspect our lunch. It left a negative impression on what should have been a decent meal.

My husband ordered the fried ravioli ($11.99) and I got the pasta sampler ($13.99) with lasagna, manicotti, and cheese ravioli. Everything was really good. The fried ravioli were crispy and came with a really tasty marinara sauce. The lasagna had a nice meat sauce, while the manicotti and ravioli were classic cheese-filled pastas with the same flavorful sauce. It also came with two pieces of bread that were more like soft rolls. Portions were just right for us. Not massive, but definitely satisfying. The restaurant itself looked clean and very traditionally Italian inside, with Italian music playing and that classic neighborhood Italian restaurant feel. Overall, a solid takeout meal and definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

Unfortunately in this case my ailing parents made this impossible, so wanting to give business to a local independent restaurant, we called Genova. We ordered a variety of dishes including dessert for a group of 8. It was early Saturday evening and we were given a 45 min window. The owner explained that he had just reopened because of the covid restrictions so business was slow and he would prepare everything right away. We arrived to pickup, and the food was just being loaded up. The meals were individually packed in expensive aluminum containers and a paper plate was thoughtfully placed on the bottom of each dish to prevent the hot item from burning our hand when removing. The ceaser salads & desserts were cold and packed separately. Everything remained at the right temperature for the short ride home and after unpacking and serving the only words I can say unbelievably great!. The food far exceeded everyone's expectations. The quality of the ingredients, flavor and aroma equaled anything we had eaten back in Houston. 5 stars, best kept secret in Burkburnett. Please patronize this establishment.
