I ordered 3 egg rolls which were burned and a large shrimp fried rice. I couldn't tell you what was in it ( looked like some kind of ground meat) it was very dark in color and shrimp were very small and spars. I almost fell down when she told me it would be $26.59 to sum it up I ate about 2 bites of the egg rolls and same for shrimp fried rice and threw the rest in the trash. I ordered the beef fried rice with a side of an egg roll with sweet & sour. First off the the serving size is a 5/5 the pack the container with that stuff, your really getting your money's worth with this place. The food it's self amazing! The fried rice was not plain by itself like most places I've seen. The beef was so flavorful and was cooked when I ordered not old. The first plate I had I put soy sauce on it then realized it doesn't even need it that's how good it is. Now the egg roll, I have never found an egg roll that satisfied me but this one set the bar! So crispy in crunch with veggies and egg inside. The sweet & sour that I dipped it in was something I'll remember for a long time. Overall I give this place a 4/5 just because they use styrofoam containers and I don't support that but I support their awesome food! read more

We ordered the family pack to go, it was a lot of food. Admittedly, I did not really understand the menu, so I've added a fresh menu as of Jan 2022. Family pack was fried rice packed tightly into two large foam takeout containers, 6 delicious pork egg rolls, forks, napkins, and a bunch of soy sauce. Chicken fried rice was lots of high quality chicken breast, seasoned nicely, not too oily. Be sure to ask for anything else you need (hot mustard, spicier food, etc.) If our order is anything like everything else on the menu, you can split a single dish easily. Food was ready super quick. Definitely one of the best places to get oriental food in Altus. We often order out and they always have our food ready to go and perfect. They have a nice selection and the prices are worth it for how much food they give you. The owner always makes a point to come out and not only talk to us, but converse with us. Altus wouldn't be Altus without this family running their restaurant. Only downside is that they don't take credit cards, they're cash only. Luckily, they're less than a mile away from a ATM so that's no big deal. read more

I'm not really big on Asian food.. We decided to try this place because I wanted orange chicken... FYI they do NOT have orange chicken... Why? Because it's not americanised Chinese food. It's mostly Thai. Well I do like Thai pretty well so we decided to go ahead and get food from here. My fiancé ordered pepper steak with steamed rice and I got the chicken and broccoli with fried rice. I had them make mine the hottest they could and it was reallllly good!! All their ingredients are fresh and I do believe this is how fried rice should be done. Personally I think the bad reviews are people expecting Chinese food, well americanised Chinese food. I still miss this place, and I've been gone from Altus for nearly three years. It was the last thing I ate for dinner the night before the move. Their fried rice was to die for. I went to college in Sayre, and I used to drive all the way to Altus, and bring it home. Was still good cold. Thanks for being memorable! Congratulations! Some of the worst food I've ever had!! Overpriced and flavorless Decided to check this place out because I was craving pad Thai and Donuts and fried rice was closed. I asked for spicy pad Thai and they literally poured an entire jar of crushed red pepper in it so every bite was just crunching on pepper flakes. Shrimp was bland and the chicken was dry. Also got an order of the pepper steak which was also bland as can be. We added a bunch of siracha for flavor but not worth the 30 bucks. How does this place have good reviews? read more

Having recently moved to Altus, I was really disappointed by the lack of Asian restaurants in this town. I like all kinds of Asian cuisine...Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, you name it, I like it. When the owner of the Thai grocery recommended Fortune Cookie, I was really excited! I have to say, I'm really disappointed. The menu is actually kind of small. It looks large because each protein is listed separately. There is a separate line item for each kind of protein with fried rice, sweet and sour, cashew, etc and then descriptions for each. There are none of the typical spicier dishes like Kung Pao, Mongolian or Hot & Spicy. No garlic chicken and I certainly didn't see any curry. I asked the lady at the counter if they could make something like kung pao chicken and she said no. But I could make anything spicy on a scale of 1 to 5. So not knowing their level of spicy I opted for cashew chicken at a level 3. The menu listed that this item came with white/green onion, mushroom, baby corn, and water chestnuts. I got the order to go because it was really hot in the restaurant. While I'm waiting for my order (she quoted 20 minutes) I'm reading the wall more carefully. My cashew chicken was listed at $11.95. Kind of pricey but worth it if it was good. But my order rang up at nearly $14. Still haven't figured that out yet since I didn't get any extras. I did see a sign that said 40 cents is added to take out orders. But then there was a separate sign that says $1 added to dine in orders except the large family dinner. What???? So after only 10 minutes of waiting, I get my order. It is super heavy, so I figure I have lunch for the next day as well. I get home and tear into the cashew chicken. First off, I realized what makes it a level 3 spicy. They have dumped a lot of dried red pepper flakes on top. I'm not a big fan of those so I try my best to scrape it off. Then I realize there is a ton of cabbage in it. Had I known that I wouldn't have ordered it. After I get most of that off, I'm left with about half of the volume. Then there's the chicken. It is definitely white meat chicken but it appears as if it was boiled. There was no seasoning or evidence that the chicken was browned at all. It was down right gross. The steamed rice which made up the majority of the dish tasted stale and had that crunchy bits as if it had been left out in the open too long. There was no sauce that I could tell and if there was, it was tasteless. Usually I'll give a place a second chance, but I don't think I can bring myself to go back there again. I wouldn't rank this on my places to eat in Altus. I have eaten here a few times hoping it would be better, but I have only one decent meal which was Sesame Chicken...and can anyone mess that up? Their fried rice wasn't good and their Pad Thai had more fish sauce on it than I could handle. Not many choices for Oriental food in Altus, so if you are stuck eating here, go for something that is hard to mess up. read more

First, it's not terrible, but it's certainly far from amazing. My family has had fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, beef chow mein, and more; all were mediocre. Prices are decent, staff are friendly, portions are huge. But there is something lacking about the flavors... I've been here twice and it's honestly not worth my money a third time. This is a terrible place. The Chicken Chow mein smelled like wet dog and tasted like dirty feet, when I told the owner i didn't like it and it did not taste good he told me "its one of our best dishes and is supposed to taste the way it does". Take that for how you want to. The Broccoli and Beef we ordered had 2 long hairs in it, when I brought it back the owner he insinuated that I put them in there and only refunded the money for it after I argued with him about it. The egg rolls were soggy and tasted like grease. We ordered chicken fried rice and it was over cooked and covered in what must have been an entire bottle of soy suace. The price's were high for a good chinese resteruant, of which this is NOT. Do not eat here or J & K's, in fact avoid both places like Anthrax.
