I want to start by saying that I'm vegetarian by choice. For me, it's an ethical decision. I often…read moreask myself: where do we draw the line when it comes to eating animals? Many people eat cows and pigs but would never consider eating dogs or cats. That question is why I choose not to eat meat. Because of that, I made it very clear when I ordered that I wanted no meat in my burrito--only cheese. Unfortunately, when I got the food and took a bite, I discovered it was filled with meat. It was incredibly disappointing and upsetting because I specifically requested a vegetarian meal. For vegetarians and anyone with dietary restrictions or food allergies, mistakes like this can be a serious issue. I hope the restaurant takes extra care to double-check orders in the future. While the staff was friendly, this mistake left me with a poor experience and I will never return.

I found the ambience to be very much and mom and pop Mexican food joint. It was clean inside and the service was friendly and quick. I chose a three enchilada lunch special plate that came with rice and beans. The rice is a type that I seem to have had many other Mexican joints, kind of fluffy rather uneventful. I'm not really a rice person so I basically only had a couple of bites and decided it just wasn't worth all the carbs. The refried beans were quite runny and spread thin on the plate so it covered a lot of real estate but there wasn't much there. The enchiladas on the other hand I felt like we're decent. I got a combination of beef, chicken and cheese. I think I like the chicken the best. All this food was served hot, on a hot plate. I greatly appreciate that.

After trying every well-rated Mexican restaurant in Altus, I can objectively say that La Buena…read moreVista has the most authentic and delicious food. It was closed for a little bit, but has since re-opened. And we should all rejoice. La Buena Vista sports a menu that offers delicious treats such as Chicken Mole, Tortas, and traditional street Tacos. If you haven't had a chance to swing by yet, do yourself a favor and make the trip!
