Taco Mayo plays in the same league as Taco Bell. Fairly tasty grub at cheap cheap prices. Ordered a Chicken Fresh Mex Burrito and a Beef and Bean Burrito for $9. Tasty fire sauce for the burritos. Let me explain... The 5 is not for the food. The menu and the food sucks. Worst mexican type food I have ever had. Id rather eat at Taco Bell and I NEVER eat at Taco Bell. The 5 is for the soda machine. I love that soda machine. When i get rich im gonna buy two of them. I will give up a little bit for the salsa bar because I kinda sorta sometimes (but not anymore) liked the fresh salsa and Pico they make, say a 3. I pile it on whatever im eating to mask the crappy taste of the food. Then wash it down with a great custom made soda! I have actually stopped eating there. I just go in for a large drink now and again. Peach vanilla diet Sprite!! Ok I just could not bring myself to put an actual 5 star on this place. Young lady making our food wore gloves, for making our food and taking money. She counted out the coins in her hand. When I asked if she had food handlers class. Her response was NO. So I asked if she had been trained. Once again No. I asked if she knew why she was wearing gloves. Her answer was she was told to wear them. We was overcharged for our food. Food is usually good and fairly fresh-tasting--much better than Taco Bell. Service is spotty; sometimes friendly and experience-focused but sometimes more focused on following cost-control policies than creating a quality dish. The select-your-own soda machine is a fun treat. The fresh-made tortillas are usually quite tasty. Potato Locos and mini churros are a staple for us. While no Chipotle or Taco Cabana, Taco Mayo is one of the better fast food options in Altus. 4 stars based upon quality vs other local fast food options. read more

If your expecting chipotle....stop and make your own burrito. if you still decide to go in dont look at what there putting in your burrito. Its not clean and looked like it was created a week ago. If you still are there and continue to order just throw it away before you eat it. If you decide to eat it go to Walmart and pick up some toilet paper. Your going to need it. Wasn't sure what to expect. It was a win. No chipotle but who is. Got a chicken burrito and this place puts Mo's to shame. Queso and shredded cheese on your burrito is asking for nothing but victory. Perfect size, didn't feel like vomming after and the chips are dialed in. Only complaint was the Guac wasn't that good for the extra $ it costs. I'm already looking forward to coming back. read more

When this place first opened I really liked it and would come here every Tuesday for tacos. But, like a lot of Altus restaurants, it has gone downhill over the years. I give it two stars because it is still better than the Plaza and El Rey. read more

I have to give it a two due to the service, appearance of the staff, cleanliness of the facility and cost. I think the drive through gets all the attention. I went in the lobby. Why do businesses allow the staff to hang out with their family members who are hanging out in the lobby? Maybe they should take care of the other customers and their job.
