If you get here when they open on a weekday, it isn't bad at all. It's usually pretty clean and they aren't very busy. However, this review is really just about the pizza I just ordered for my boys. I wasn't aware that onions and canned black olives were now being sold for such a premium. For an additional $2.09+tax, I added red onions to our pizza. I also added black olives for, yes, an additional $2.09+tax. I got 6 or so slivers of red onion and a baby handful sprinkling of chopped black olives on the entire large pizza. Yeah, never again.

Our 'full' serving of fries. Such a joke!

We came for dinner to celebrate my son's 6th birthday and were very disappointed. Extremely poor customer service, ridiculous upcharging ($2 for a new play card and the an ADDITIONAL $2 for the wrist band!?!), and food servings were a joke. Our 'basket' of fries was 1/3 full. When I asked for more, the woman said that is the full serving!? That is esp seems like such an easy win for them. How much is each fry?! Salad bar is one small plate that costs $12.99 and has some baby carrots and iceberg lettuce. Next time we'll either avoid all together or eat at in n out next door (way better food and prices)!!! In addition, I know aiming for kid friendly but the music is not that good or appealing toy kids.

    Ticket blaster (free for bday)
    Annabelle R.

Went here for my nephews' bday, and it was easy to make a last minute reservation due to an unexpected conflict with our original party plans. The venue was clean, modern, and colorful, with machines and games in working order. Pizza was decent, nothing too outstanding, but a crisp buttery crust which added flavor. Don't expect gourmet restaurant quality here. It was still better than expected, the pepperoni and cheese good enough for the kids (I didn't hear a single complaint), the veggie and supreme a tasty option for the adults. In addition, the different flavored cupcakes and dipping dots were a nice treat, mainly for the little ones, the cupcakes were quite dense, but a simple dessert option. They also had extensive offerings for both soda and non-soda beverages at their self-serve fountain drink machines (including 3 diet options which is rare). The service was outstanding, the birthday party seating area was spacious, decorated nicely with clear signage. Staff was cordial and helpful, communicated well, and was prompt with timing for food being served, the ticket blaster (free as part of the bday package), the show for birthday celebrants (yes Chuck E. is indeed a musician, so you'll see him playing the guitar on screen), and bringing out the Chuck E. Cheese mascot for the kids... the staff was even into the dance they do with Charles Entertainment Cheese, encouraging kids to have fun with it too. My nephews and nieces (between the ages of 5-11) had a blast playing the games, but so did some of the adults. Sure there's a lot only catering to young kids (a lot of circus themed, even a unique Hollywood Reels machine), but some of the arcade games were fun for me... yes I enjoyed sitting on the vibrating and moving seat for the Jurassic Park arcade machine while my partner played, a nice massage for my back. Also, hoops and skeeball are classic games any age can enjoy, even if miniature versions. The kids had all-you-can-play cards, unlimited games for 2 hours, and one of them was gifted to us due to one of the kids being absent... so we took advantage. In turn, we gifted our tickets (loaded on the card) to the bday boy, getting him closer to his CEC wish list from the prize counter where tickets can be redeemed for fun toys and souvenirs. Going to CEC is nostalgic for me, my parents took me and my siblings here (a different location) for bday celebrations or just for a day of fun when I was a kid... I still remember how much I enjoyed playing in the ball pit (nowadayz and here in Pinole, they have trampolines instead). So even though it's not perfect, this location does a pretty good job bringing smiles to the kids' faces, staying true to their simple and memorable slogan, and that's what matters.

    Pepperoni pizza
    Gagan S.

Food: 4/5 Pepperoni pizza from here tasted as good as it used to the times in the past I went there for parties and old childhood friends. A nostalgic taste. The crust has a buttery flavor to it which I like. Service: 5/5 The staff who helped me was incredibly helpful. She offered to bring the pizza outside to me noticing I was using crutches to walk. The pizza took about 20 minutes, which is reasonable. Ambiance: 4/5 Inside looked slightly emptier than usual, perhaps it gets busier later in the day? My order was to go, and I was greeting right at the door which was more than enough.

This is by far the biggest and best Chuck E. Cheese I have been to. Lots of new games and the staff are pretty friendly and attentive. Every Chuck E. Cheese I would say are understaffed and it's difficult to have someone constantly watched the trampoline area but overall I enjoy this Chuck E. Cheese the most compared to the others in the northern CA area. They also top off the dipping dots.

    Stuffed crust pepperoni
    Mike A.

Not like you remember when you were a kid, that's for sure! No more play structure and everything is gross. Getting a beer can take a while and can be tricky, more of a pain than anything. But the pizza ain't too bad, gotta get the stuffed crust.

    Unicorn churros
    Ariana A.

It's a strange craving to be in the mood for the Chuck E Cheese menu, especially since the scene caters to the younger crowd. But I was extremely intrigued with their unicorn churros. 1 order of churros will get you 5 sticks for $5 in various flavors: lemon, green apple, blue raspberry, cherry(?), and original. Flavored churros are a huge thing that I miss from the Disneyland parks, but I'm definitely not going to drive to SoCal for a churro. This was my next best thing. The texture was perfect as it was soft and fresh and even after letting it sit for a few hours it never got hard or stale. The only downside was that the sugar crystals would melt but i would take melted sugar over a hard churro. Their sign says you have to order a minimum of 4 items for take out. I'm not sure if that was required for both call in and walk ins, but I did walk in to buy this and went ahead to get 4 orders of these =$20. My favorite was the green apple because it actually tasted like it's flavor. The others seemed like they were colored but no flavor.

For what this place is, I'm super impressed. It was clean, the salad bar was fresh (nothing old or gross looking), hand sanitizer located around and staff was very friendly and accommodating. I went at noon on a weekday and it was relatively empty and maybe still clean from closing the night before. The food...it's mostly kid food. Pizza looked great. Not a ton of healthy options but they have a sign that says they hand cut fresh produce every day for the salad bar. I hate getting wilted iceberg lettuce and was pleased with what was there. Very fresh and crisp...sorry I didn't get a picture. Five star is to make up for the person who gave a one star because they didn't have aging, gross animatronics.... I actually really liked the clean, feels-like-new set up. The play Kidz Bop so be prepared. But it is a kids place. Now that I think about it, it does deserve this 5 star rating based on my experience today. Personally, I'd rather do something else with my time and eat healthy BUT I have kids and it's not about me. It's about them. And they loved it. I'm just really happy it wasn't an old, crusty place. Everything, even rides and games, felt new and clean. Will definitely be taking them back.

This park was conceived of and built by residents of the neighborhood, after a child was killed in the original park filled with drunks and drug addicts. A group of parents and citizens got together and gathered grant money and city permission, and volunteers from the community came out and physically designed and built the park by hand. The director of the non-profit project lives literally across the street, and comes out personally to watch over the park and the kids 4 days a week. This park represents an amazing amount of community cooperation and involvement for a neighborhood that has been plagued with poverty and violence since I was a little kid (and probably much earlier). All that said, there is still some of the cultural mindset that one would expect from the parents - yesterday when I went there with my kid, two groups of kids, (one Hispanic, one Black), ages ranging from around 7 to 11, were attempting to mediate a conflict over something that supposedly happened at the park last week by telling their stories to the caretakers of the Hispanic kids (two women who spoke limited English). Supposedly there was some name calling last week, that may or may not have escalated to one girl slapping another. At some point some (obviously not credible) threats of violence were exchanged, but absolutely no actual violence, physical contact, or even raised voices occured, but kids in both groups made comments about calling the police over it. Apparently one of them followed through, because a few minutes later the police actually arrived. The officers listened patiently to both parties version of the story, pointed out that all these things happened in the past and that neither side had been perfect, and asked all the kids in both groups if they could let it go and get along from here forward. All the kids in both groups said they could get along, and as the officers began to leave, the two groups actually did integrate and go back to playing. Then the parents of the kids who didn't already have caretakers present showed up... They IMMEDIATELY, without even having talked to the children, went up to the officers who were at their car talking to each other, and began yelling at them and insulting them, complaining that they officers had been "yelling at their children", and requesting names and badge numbers in order to file a complaint. The 3 parents all talked at once, over each other, nearly belligerent, their various complaints about police in general, and there purely imagined complaints about these officers in particular, who had come out and successfully resolved a conflict between elementary school students. All this had absolutely nothing to do with me, but I really didn't want my son to have to see this already resolved conflict become even bigger because of the parents prejudice against cops, so I intervened just to say that I had been there the whole time, and the cops did not takes sides or yell at anyone, and then proceeded to recount the whole story when I was asked follow up questions. The cops took that opportunity to disengage, one of the parents left again, but two others stayed around the entire rest of the time we were there, ranting to each other about cops and saying incomprehensible things to me like "this wouldn't happen if parents were here to watch their kids" and "parents shouldn't just unquestioningly take their kids side in a conflict just because its their kids" - um, those two things are literally exactly what you have been doing! The other group of kids had adult supervision with them, you were the parents who weren't here! The whole thing was a sad reminder of the overlooked part of race relations in our country, the cultural rut we as poor urban Black people can't seem to get out of, the assumptions and prejudices we make that ensure that every interaction with cops is negative and that make it hard for us to ever integrate into larger society. The fact that the director and other staff have to deal with people like this on a daily basis makes it more than understandable that they might come off as a little gruff at times, but the fact that she has undertaken this project at all shows how much she cares about the community and it's children.
