I brought my kids here for a birthday party and was impressed with the size of this place. We came at 6:30pm on a Sunday and this place was packed. I did have some issues with the service. Although the staff were very nice, it took forever for the food to come out. It didn't help since I was starving. Anyhow, my kids had a blast. There are so many games and rides to choose from. They especially have a bunch of rides for toddlers which my 2 year old loved. I'm also a fan of the one token games. It would a better to go when it's not too busy. read more

Chuck E. Cheese is a rite of passage for parents and relatives of young children, definitely not my favorite thing to do, but my 5 year old daughter loves it. We did her 5th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese on Sunday and it was wonderful. When we walked in we were introduced to our host, Jessica. She did a wonderful job, letting us know how it would work, making sure we had everything we needed, and checking in with us frequently. The kids had a great time. There were plenty of tokens, drinks and pizza for both adults and children. And the pizza was good. They do a great job, the kids love it and the costs was very reasonable. The self contained security for the children, no one can leave without the parent they came in with, makes it very comfortable. Many of the machines are broken and will rip you off. Most of the employees here act like they were raised in a housing project in Richmond. The clientele isn't much better. I had my sons 3rd birthday party at this location and my son loved it. Our party host, Justice, did a wonderful job. She was very attentive, patient, and calm throughout the entire party. I came here on a weekday afternoon during the summer. It wasn't too crowded but they were understaffed that day and we had to wait a few minutes to be helped. One thing I liked is that all the games require just ONE token, as opposed to two or three that many other places charge. My son had a blast and even though the pizza was nasty, what do you expect from chuck e. cheese? I don't know what its like on the weekends, but its a great way to spend a few hours with an energetic toddler. read more

Adults or kids this is fun. Dates are great here cause its super chill. Just don't cuss in front of kids. I love the basketball machine games and its pretty affordable. A quarter a game. You can save all the tickets after awhile there is no expiration date and then trade in for a large gift. I like their salad bar. Pizza is decent. Cheese and to start of they took long to bring me my food and then I had to use the restroom and it was very dirty and only about one stall was clean. once I finished eating I went to play games with my siblings and came back and my cups and salad tray weren't there no more. Decent location. I've been to a total of five Chuck E Cheese locations. The first four were crowded as soon as we walked in the door. It didn't matter what day/time, but it was crowded. This location was not that bad. We went on a weeknight and I was surprised to see that there were not a lot of people inside. My girlfriend's son has the run of the place. I've been too many Chuck E Cheese locations, and this one is by far the worst one. Yet i keep coming back to this place, not because of the customer service or the games, but because of their basketball machine which most of everyone over 15 seems to only go there for. My family and i have celebrated two different birthday's there for the kids. And all two times was horrible. Food was bad, ALL of their employees were rude, not motivated and unpleasant to be around. Some of them were even obnoxious and ghetto. Just about more than half of their machines were "out of order" or if it wasn't, it ripped the kids off of their tokens and/or tickets. You might be reading my review and wonder "well if its so bad, why keep coming back"... Just because i can see the dump for what this place is, doesn't mean the kids can. My twin girls and my great nephew spent the day in this facility. The staff greeted us nicely, when ordering food staff was knowledge in the food, the kids were able to play all the games they had interests in without any errors. The space was well kept up, the manager was amazing with kids! The food was good for kids, but the reason for the 4stars rating was due to the lack of communication to customers. My girls kept waiting for chucky cheese to come out to walk around, give tickets, and take pictures- and he never came out nor was there any communication about chucky cheese availability for the day. My nephew had his 6th bday party here and I was so disappointed with the service and willingness to help out . There was another kid and my nephews party, Mom had made reservations a month prior, but they couldn't find anything, an email was shown with the confirmation and all they could do was say they were sorry but there was some sort of deposit (not mentioned when making the reservation) that wasn't paid. OK, we're here can you Accommodate us? Yeah, sure you can use whatever table you want. we just wont decorate. I was babysitting my nephew for the day and thought taking him to Chuck E. Cheese would be the best place to have fun! This location is the closest to me and decided to go. Of course I had to read the yelp reviews beforehand and red flags went off. Well, I gave this location the benefit of the doubt and still went. Customer service: I had such an amazing experience with the staff! I didn't meet one that was rude, impatient, or awful. There were multiple times where games weren't giving out tickets and the staff gave us credit for them. Then, my nephew wanted to ride on this Chuck E. Cheese car where it takes your picture and noticed the pictures weren't printing. We told a staff member and he gladly fixed it! He even gave us some credit to make up for the broken ride! I didn't catch his name but he had such a great attitude and even told me that if anything else was broken that he would fix it. Another encounter I had with an employee was when I was paying for my pizza. I was paying in cash and I guess my wallet fell out. I picked it up quickly and didn't even notice something else fell out. A staff member passing by tapped me on the shoulder and brought it to my attention. When reading the reviews about the prize attendants, I immediately got stressed out because I didn't want my nephew to be disappointed with his experience. I honestly think maybe the employees who had bad reviews actually got fired because all the prize attendants were calm, happy, patient, and accommodating. I even saw this young girl keep her cool while helping a frenzy of kids all asking for help at the same time! Food: I ended up a medium pizza with pineapple and bacon bits. It was a good size for just me an my nephew (who likes to eat A LOT) and it was pretty good quality. Activities: There was a lot of variety when it came to games and activities. I invested in a time card and it worked out really well! Typically I'm skeptical when it comes to hitting the arcade game jackpots, but there's a lot of fair games here! My six year old nephew actually won a handful of jackpots and walked out with 250,000 tickets within 5 hours! Cleanliness: My nephew and I got to Chuck E. Cheese around 12pm (they opened at 10am that day) and I took him to the bathroom. They were actually fairly cleaned and all flushed. Then around 3:30ish I took him again and oh my god it was a horror story. There was a foul smell like someone left a baby diaper in the sun. You could smell it from the hallway! Three out of the four stalls were not flushed and had toilet paper stuck to them. The only clean stall had no toilet paper! One of the adult sinks had (what looked like) chicken chunks and corn in the bowl mixed with soap. There was no paper towels but I just wanted to get out of there at that point! Around the play area I saw minimal papers and employees constantly sweeping up. There were a lot of clean tables and plenty of hand sanitizer dispensers! All and all, I had a really good experience here. I feel like management really improved on their customer service by A LANDSLIDE!! WORST HOST SERVICE EVERRR!!! We regularly take my daughter to this location when we want to get out & for the most part have had decent experiences so we decided to throw her 3rd Birthday Party here (worst mistake ever). We arrived 15 minutes before our scheduled party time to make sure everything was set - of course the table was not ready yet (seemed like it was set up for a different party since there was originally a different name on the table plus set up for less children than our party had). They originally only gave us a 1 table that was set up for half our party size so I had to ask for another one to be set up. At the start of our party (3pm) our host came out to show us our food selection that we had made the day BEFORE with the confirmation call to make sure it was correct (awesome). Then it was 3:30, 3:45 and NOTHING as the parties that showed up RIGHT at 3 or after were getting all of their food. Finally I had to go up to the host & ask what was going on which she just said "it's coming" Finally 10 minutes later they at least brought out the kids pizzas & maybe around 4:15 (mind you our party ended at 5pm) we started getting the rest of the party's food/appetizers etc. Our host NEVER checked back in during the party except for when it was cake time so we refilled our pitchers about twice for her yet we were paying these people to do their job! Around 5:15 we were literally getting rushed out of our tables & at the same time were being asked about the dippin dots that came with our party package in which I said let's hold off while we settle to the regular tables. Of course after that I received my bill which she said can you go up front to pay now which I was as soon as I would head out the door - she came up about 2 more times to make my payment which I finally went to do so she would just drop it. After I paid I realized we still hadn't received the ice cream nor did the children get their goodie bags (which bag this point most of the party was gone). Our original host brought the dippin dots & when I brought to her attention the bags she said under her breath "all the kids are gone already".... uhh yeah but we paid so I need those bags. Of course she comes back & says "we're out sorry". I continued to say okay well how about a credit since I didn't get what I asked for. My first time participating a BD event. The dB level was beyond a normal threshold, imagine a toddler's ears. Visually unattractive. Colors are ugly. Food is distasteful and unhealthy. I have not found a place that is spiritually, artistically, and intellectually deprived more than this environment. There were many workers around who seemed more interested in socializing with themselves than helping customers. The pizza was bland and pasty. Several rides and games were broken with no signage so have fun losing token after token and good luck trying to get someone to help you. The place was unclean, a hot mess and poorly managed. Worst of all were the rowdy kids who took over the place running around playing football and basketball in the middle of the gaming area nearly trampling over smaller kids. YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2014 2/100 I like this place...1) The kids like it. They always have fun when we're here (which is every other month or so) 2) The pizza isn't half bad. 3) I enjoy playing a few games myself. 4) The blacklight/kid safety protocol is a great idea. However, there are of course things that kept me from giving a 5 star review.....1) The Chuck E Cheese live character isn't very lively :( It's like you can tell by looking at him that he hates his job...and his face is completely covered so you shouldn't be able to tell a thing! He needs to dance, hold his head up, act enthused in some way. Basically not be a Chuck E who needs prozac! 2) The staff isn't much help at all if you encounter a rude/destructive/mean kid whose parent is nowhere in sight. 3) I visted this place yesterday and had my one year old in tow, our pizza was delivered piping hot (which is not the problem) but the employee set the pizza directly in front of my 1 year old....who immediately grabbed a handful of hot cheese and began screaming. I had to fight with the napkin deispenser since it was packed so tightly, in order to get the sauce & cheese off of his hand. Sure enough he has a first degree burn from it. I'm not saying it's all their fault, I know he's my child and my resposibiliyty to keep him safe BUT she did set the pizza down DIRECTLY in front of the baby...most other restaurants I've taken him to have made it a point to set the food down away from him. 3) Lastly, but not least, one thing that takes down the rating in my opinion is the crowd that frequents this place. I mean, this is a kids play place right? So then the adults should not be wearing skimpy clothes (belly baring, ass cheek showing etc...) or using foul language for all to hear right? And they shouldn't be allowing their children to push, hit, yell at other children or to stomp on, destroy, or otherwise mutilate the games... right? I had my son's birthday party here a last weekend and I was very disappointed in the extremely POOR SERVICE provided. I guess I shouldnt be surprised! The Pinole location has gotten so ghetto and the employees just dont give a f**k! First of all, our host was late. The manager ended up taking care of us until the host got there so I guess that shouldnt matter much. When the host finally got there she was damn near MIA more than half the time. We would always have to go hunt her down when we needed something or had questions. She was very nice, she just sucked at her job! Our food took pretty long to come out and why did the appetizer come out BEFORE the pizzas???????? We bussed our own tables. No one ever came by to remove the empty food trays on the tables. When the employees did walk by they didnt bother to pick anything up! When Chuck E came out he was just the saddest, sorriest looking thing ever! You KNOW he HATES his job! He was not into it at all and definitely didnt care either. My SIL talked to the manager after most of our guests left but I'm sure she could care less. No one there cares. They're probably miserable and could care less about customer service. The only reason why I did my son's party at Chuck E Cheese this year was because he had been asking for a party there the past couple of years and I finally gave in. I would never have another party there again and I would never recommend anyone to have their party at the Pinole location. this place is ... ghetto. we walk in and all the employees are talking to each other using the N word amongst themselves. when we're ordering pizza , the lady asks us "is stuffed crust ok?" . we THOUGHT we had no other choice , since she said it that way. anyway , 30 min our pizza arrives at the table. I just looked at my reciept, medium stuffed crust- $2.00 , Pepperoni toppings- 1.79 why didn't they say the stuffed crust was extra ? it wasn't that good anyway, and i don't mind getting stuffed crust (especially if it's from pizza hut, in fact , that's the only place i'll ever get stuffed crust from) but they need to WORK on their customer service. While taking the kids to Chuck e cheese has never been on my list of favorite things to do, today will surely be a last time for me. While taking my niece to the restroom. I found it absolutely disgusting; not only was there tissue all over the floor but two of the four toilet seats had feces on them. I immediately notified sWtaff who laughed and said that they were already aware and joked that the bathrooms are always filthy so they use the ones next door at either grocery outlet or Michael's. While there, another customer commented that she had told them a while ago about it. Over an hour later I went back in to take another niece and it had yet to be cleaned, feces still sitting there. I again brought it to the attention of staff who assured me that someone would get to it This is a place that caters to children, some ofwhom go to the restroom unattended, there have to be higher standards. I try to avoid CEC as much as possible! I held my daughter's 4th birthday party at CEC only because rain was in the forecast one week before her birthday party. The birthday experience was great, our host (can't remember her name but I believe she was the manager) was great and was very attentive to our needs plus food and drinks kept coming upon request. Unfortunately there were more downside than up. There were too many (big) kids running around, the bathroom was a mess, salad bar needed to be restocked everytime I went and the games were in need of some sanitizing. Plus CEC can be a bit pricey even with the coupons that I had! It didn't help that my daughter was afraid of Chuck E! Not their fault, I know but will I ever have a party at CEC, most likely not! If you must have a birthday party there, make sure that you get there early, you can bring your own supplies (balloons, themed table covers, napkins, etc.), they will only put a table cloth on one table, get coupons from their websites or online. read more

Yes I'm a fan! I'm a new mom with a super energetic one year old and on a rainy weekend day we had to venture out for some fun. All wet roads led us here... We ordered a pizza, chicken nuggets and cinnamon sticks. Everything is just ok, the cinnamon thing is quiet interesting, it's made on pizza dough, which dad and son enjoyed. This place is stimulation overload but my son loves it, it makes for a great workout for mom and dad, we leave sweating from chasing him around. I was impressed by the improvements this place has provided since the last visit. Many of the broken machines have been updated with newer ones and or have been repaired. I did not see one machine out of order and the place was clean! Of course it was right after 3pm when kids haven't crowded the place yet but I've noticed the staff being much more attentive. There was a mechanic walking around with a tool cart also performing preventative maintenance. I'll be taking my kids here more often now. Of all the check E Cheese I have been to, the Pinole location is great. Large, well staffed.... and nearly 95% of the games work every time we come. We hosted our daughter's 6th birthday here and it was great. Nice for a party for parents too; the really take care of you so you can have fun with the kids instead of serving and running the show. I don't know if it's just this location doing it right... but I always remember the pizza as not so good --- I actually like the pizza in Pinole Good value too, especially with coupons. read more

Only come here when I'm visiting my moms kuz there's not much to do with kids in Richmond.It's a pretty big spot compared to some other locations I've been to that's probably the only thing good about it. There's a good amount of games some are broken and not all give you the right number of tickets that you "win". The staff are rude as hell they don't greet you or even smile. The last time I was here a couple days ago The girl working in the front rudely just said "left hands out" upon arrival and didn't even make eye contact with us. She did the same thing when we left. The dude at the prize counter clearly sees us waiting to claim prizes and shouts out "whoever is ready come here"and walks away...They seriously need training in customer service and to improve their bad attitudes. read more
