My Dad was craving corn dogs and a mustard dog so I was happy to oblige. I missed the PA system to order and drove right to the window like a bonehead. The cashier was really nice about it and took my order at the window. I asked if they had brown mustard (Dad requested) and they do not. I ordered 3 corndogs and 1 mustard dog for him. Unfortunately she only heard the 3 corndogs and "mustard" which is what I received. I asked about the mustard dog, big misunderstanding, and she ended up giving me a mustard dog which was so nice! I went back a couple days later to get myself some mini corndogs which were really delicious! Unfortunately the Polish Sandwich was on soggy rye bread - would have been much better if the bread was toasted. This used to be my Mom's favorite sandwich growing up and I was feeling nostalgic. But next time I'll just stick to the mini corndogs!
The Chicago Dogs I had at Wrigleysville Dogs in Chicago (review: https://yelp.to/2I071b59BZ) made such a huge impression on me that I thought I'd return to Wienerschnitzel after a thirty-year moratorium to try their $4.79 Chicago Dog and upgrade it to All-Beef (photo: https://yelp.to/dIG3CEO9Lf). This currently isn't on the menu but it's a 7-11 pizza with a Pork sausage smothered in Dennisons Chili with Beans. It should be on the menu because last time I got a boring beef dog and ketchup was an extra 0.50 cents. I should be a boss there so I can put new menu items. The chick with brown hair is hot.

I always order the Chili Cheese Dog, Burger and Fries with a side of normal fries. I was thinking back about the old days when I was a teenager. Having the munchies and craving a Wienerschnitzel Dog. And how much I loved them. So I thought I'd swing into this one and give it a try and see if it lived up to my memory. The place was pretty empty. It was pretty run down, and it didn't look too clean in the parking lot around it. It was very uninviting. We used the drive-through. My wife had a regular dog, and I had the Chicago style dog with a side of chilly bacon cheese fries. The Chicago style was not even close. It was good, but I would say it was average. On the other hand, chili bacon cheese fries were really good. There were some other cars waiting behind us to make their orders and the girls that we're working inside were working pretty hard so I will give that to. Them but I didn't get any sense of cheerfulness are enjoying the work. Or hi how you doing today none of that. They get 1 star for the chili fries.

Been a while since we had Wienerschnitzel as those in our area are gone now, but husband was in that area and so picked up an order on the way home - we were really looking forward to it! Long story short - we feel really ripped off. 6 hotdogs, 3 with mustard, 3 with mayonnaise... except they said they don't have any mayo... Oh well, I can put that on at home right? 2 large orders of fries and the total came to $24.39, a little pricey for hot dogs, but everything's gone up, right? Well, he gets home with the food and we begin to unpack - first thing we notice is the fries... very, very pale and blonde, limp and oily - for $4.19 you expect better - but I can always pop them in the air fryer for a few minutes, right? Then come the dogs... Pictures speak louder than words - see for yourself! It's like someone purposely gave each of them a couple squeezes to mess them up... all six were in this shape. No fresh hot dog on a fluffy steamed roll, only old tasting skinny hot dogs with room temp buns that had been compressed to the point of a gummy, Play-Doh sort of texture. But hey! We can just slap on some condiments and run them through the micro for a minute or two, right? WRONG!! Nearly 25 bucks, not one item served was good - NOT ONE - and that's where I hit my limit. At that price point, to be served trash like this (and that's where most of it ended up, in the trash) is adding insult to injury, and finally pushed me to the breaking point. We will certainly never purchase from here again! 2 stars for the nice gal at the counter who was friendly, negative 5 stars for food quality and cost - avoid this joint, get yourself some Ballpark franks and cook your own... you'll be glad you did.

I joined the Wienerschnitzel's Wiener Lovers' Club and was excited that I got a free Chili Dog as a welcome surprise. I ordered the chili dog and was charged 3.29 and when I scanned the offer it only discounted 1.99. Seems like false advertising to me. I doubt that this location is culpable, but still. Normally, I'm of the mind that a discount is a discount but given that I came here for a free dog I was highly disappointed. Nevertheless, the dog was flavorful. I have nothing bad to say about their corn dogs (truthfully I come here when I get a craving for one). I come here infrequently enough to be continuously surprised at the rather large size of their medium drinks. Not bad, not good. It's a hot dog. Parking is plentiful but the service at the drive through can be kind of slow.

I drive up couldn't unload my coupon. I simple asked about the coupon for $4 for two hot dogs and small fries. He right away honored it sweet. Corn dogs $2.79 each normally fries small $2.79 saved $5 nice. Food nice and hot and delicious. Thanks belly full. read more
I've been twice this week and the service has been quick friendly and efficient. I used a coupon for two chill dogs and medium dries for five dollars and everything was delicious like I remembered it from years ago. The food was freshly prepared not sitting for hours I watched how they had row of hot dogs on the flat top being cooked and fries being dropped into the fryer. read more

I was in Oakland registering to be a substitute teacher with Oakland Unified School District.There are no Wienerschnitzels in Sonoma County and I was craving for some hot dogs. At my high school in San Diego there was a Der Wienerschnitzel next to the campus and it reminded me to search for one on the way back home to Santa Rosa, I stopped by this Wienerschnitzel to order 4 mustard dogs to go. I asked to use the restroom and was told it was only for employees. I still had over an hour drive home so I had to stop by a gas station to use the restroom. The mustard dogs were good but I knocked off one star for no restroom. read more

I came here for the 58cent chili dogs. I didn't feel cheated. I was starving, so I ate three of them. Decent dog, but why did they skimp on the chili? I was expecting more than a little smear. But again, it's tough to complain when it cost 58cents. I'll be back next year when they're 59cents. And can someone please clean the tables? read more
Good old favorite! As a kid I can remember coming hear for chili cheese fries and corn dogs and I still do and it's a local favorite even for my kids now. However the food can vary depending on the location. I can say this location in El Cerrito has the best chili cheese fries and their always nice and hot . Corn dogs are nice and crispy and if you don't want chili on your fries your guaranteed to get hot fries ! It never disappoints ! Staff is always polite and the inside is always clean which is a plus! And if you have a sweet tooth their sundaes and chocolate dipped cones are a must! read more

I've come here on the regular for over 30 years. In the last 15 years at least 5 times a week and since Ali left it's just gotten out of hand. I'm tired of having to ASK for the rest of my damn fries. If I paid for a large fry then you better fill the cup to the top. Not this half ass stuff. And then today the girl was so busy talking to some guy at the walk up window she threw my bag under the heat lamp because she didn't drop the corn dogs when I ordered them so the fries were just warm. What little I got of them. And when I told her to fill my cups up she had the nerve to side eye me and get an attitude. Wtf! Look at the picture of the fries I just posted and tell me that is 7.00+ dollars worth of fries. And that attitude has no place here. Ali would never tolerate that crap. Also Hands me the bags doesn't say a word. No thank you. No do you need salt or mustard. And turns to walk away. What kind of garbage service is that. None of the other people working here act anywhere near that. Just garbage service! read more

Really skimpy on the chili. I got chili cheese fries and it was a dry mess. I tried mixing it around to make the best of it. Covid could have something to do with them being so cheap with their portions, but this was disappointing read more

When did they drop the Der? Am I imagining, or did long ago was this called Der Wienerschnitzel? The orange logo looks the same, the little tiny Ski Hut building looks the same. Hmmmmmm? (Don't mistake that expression for Mmmm! It would be misguided!) And what does that mean, exactly, Wienerschnitzel? (And does it mean the same without the "Der") (Bigger question, does it taste the same with the Der?) I think loosely, it means "Pigs in a Blanket"... or the equivalent. No, not because your pigging out. It's like that Tuesday lunch menu at your old elementary school. Whatever you call this place, they have a bigger menu than you might think. I thought it was all hot dogs. You know, Chicago style, Chili Dog, etc. Nein, Nein, Fraulein! They have variety, like Corn dogs! (less than a buck, stick included!) ... And they have a special promotion for Corn Dogs! You can win $10,000 just eating Corn Dogs! It is officially called "Eat it, read it, win it!" $10,000 prize! (Uh, you read der stick, dummkopf!) Actually, I had a fish wrap thingy! Yes, it was like a Morton's fish stick (actually better, because the batter was better) stuck inside a flour tortilla wrap, with white sauce (tartar would be stretching it) and lettuce shreds. It was actually not half bad. No wonder they had to drop the "Der", what with this Mexican styled Fish Stick burrito thing, much like a McD breakfast burrito. Now I know where the "Der" went! In the small type below the Wienerschnitzel on the window, it has.... wait for this now..... "Der"licious! And you can drive thru that little Ski Hut and order too! "Der" wunderbar! read more
