Smoked salmon toast and chocolate shake.

We love this place!! Wow! Such creativity with all the sandwich choices. The only difficulty here is that it's so hard to decide which thoughtfully crafted, tasty, scrumptious sandwich you will order. But you can't go wrong, each offering is spectacular. And the shakes, OMG!! We make up reasons to drive across the bridge even when the traffic is fierce, just so we can go to Kitchenette, you should too!

Kitchenette 625 is a "micro kitchen" in soft opening mode. it's next to Ocean View Brewery. Carrie Orth is a food veteran in the bay area. she co-owns 625 with her partner who brews artisan Indian coffee. offerings: bagels, paninis, snacks. canned eats, artisan eats, Indian coffee. . eats: smoked salmon bagel (9.50) made with boichek everything bagel, smoked salmon, tomato, red onions, cream cheese, capers,cucumber,.. -tasted fresh and delicious. freshly made. take outs: -limited seating in front, more seating available at Ocean View Brewery's patio when they are open. -panini bread freshly made here also. -more hours available. not posted on window.

    New Veggie Sandwich April 2023

I'm addicted to this place. This is amazing quality, delicious food in the East Bay. My new go-to spot in the East Bay If you like Bartavelle, Standard Fare, or Chez Panisse, you'll love Kitchenette! Make sure to try their baguette/focaccia sandwiches, whether it be their veggie sandwiches that make vegetables crave worthy or their italian sausage loaf sandwich! Food is made with attention to detail, like buttering up the baguette to my sandwich and making a homemade herb mayonnaise. Every time I come to Kitchenette every section of my sandwich tastes so good, whether it be the lemon dressed brussel sprouts or the crisped to perfection bread. Wonderful, welcoming, and warm ambience. Veronica and her mother are so sweet and the space is lovely and put together with so much thought.

What a delightful little spot. I got the Big Easy, which was delicious and Carrie who runs the place is one of the nicest business owners in the Bay! Plus, it's extremely well priced. Worth a stop!

My partner and I were looking for a place to grab lunch after walking around the Berkeley Rose Garden area, and this place was at the top of Yelp's recommendations for us. While it was a lot smaller than I was expecting, and with an unusual way of doing seating, what we ordered was tasty, fresh, not overly heavy, interesting, and extremely reasonably priced. The Ambiance: this is a small cafe with a relationship with the brew pub next door (Ocean View Brew Works). Kitchenette is tiny, and has no indoor seating of its own (a small table and two chairs sits outside of it), you are directed to take your table number into the pub next door if you want to be seated inside, or in the pub's spacious outdoor patio. The atmosphere is funky and cozy, and very informal. You can order a tea or water from either the kitchenette or the pub, or order a kombucha, cider or beer with your lunch from Ocean View Brew Works. Food: We had the mushroom toast with soft boiled egg on top, and the Autumn Harvest (?, I think that's what it was called) panini. Toast was perfect, mushrooms well seasoned and a little garlicky, and egg perfectly cooked. Panini had a great mix of crunchy veggies, purple cabbage slaw, and meat. Bread for both items tasted fresh and yummy. I'd definitely came back again with a group to eat here, and have drinks at Ocean View.

I had the best seat to watch the world go by while eating the best avocado toast I've ever tasted.

Absolutely killer sandwiches. Very nice folks. Beer garden next door where you can get food brought to you. Beautiful symbiosis.

If I could give 6 stars, I would…read more I'd like to congratulate the visionaries at JAB Holding Company on a masterclass in operational optimization. You've taken a beloved neighborhood spot and, after last month's redesign, transformed it into a model of extraction efficiency that any private equity firm would study as a case example. Every design choice, from the streamlined seating to the app-optimized workflow, demonstrates a laser focus on maximizing throughput and eliminating inefficient customer dwell time. It's German engineering applied to the coffeehouse experience. My son and I were here this morning and got to witness peak operational excellence firsthand: more than 20 minutes observing how seamlessly the redesigned space deprioritizes low-value, high-friction in-person transactions in favor of scalable digital fulfillment. I was gobsmacked by your commitment to eliminating legacy experience paradigms like "neighborhood gathering place" and "third space" in favor of a pure revenue-per-square-foot model. Why waste valuable real estate on people who might linger when you could transform it into a high-velocity order fulfillment node? The pivot away from that outdated "community coffeehouse" concept shows remarkable strategic clarity. Those old design elements (the cozy seating, the welcoming atmosphere, the sense that you belonged there) represented significant capital inefficiency. You've correctly identified that sentimental attachment to "human connection" and 'happiness' was preventing optimal asset utilization. By redesigning the space to actively discourage physical presence while maximizing app-based transactions, you've unlocked tremendous value that was previously trapped in obsolete notions of "local gathering spot." This is what true innovation looks like: a lean team of workers executing at maximum velocity in service of algorithmic demand signals, while walk-in customers experience the acceptable inconvenience of learning they're no longer the target demographic. The future isn't about creating spaces where people want to be. It's about creating spaces that extract maximum value from every interaction, regardless of how that interaction feels. Kudos to the team at https://www.jabholco.com/ for demonstrating what happens when you stop being sentimental about "community" and start optimizing for what really matters: shareholder returns. My son asked why we had to stand there so long, and I told him he was watching capitalism at its zenith. My only regret is that I can never come back due to an inconvenient personal customer preference for not being treated like a worthless little meat puppet. But there is a large and growing customer segment of people who enjoy feeling degraded before they've fully woken up, and they will make my patronage irrelevant I'm sure. Bravo!

Loved the iced coffee, made my day. Staff were really nice and I had a chance to chill before…read morestarting my day.
