I'd give it 3.5 stars. I got the Trio package for our 3 boys that included a round of mini golf,…read more$15 in arcade game credits and a round of laser tag. The arcade games are pretty expensive and they blew through the $15 in less than 15 mins. The mini golf course was short and compacted on the main floor so the courses were not as fancy or intricate as some larger outdoor mini golf courses. The boys finished all 18 holes in less than 30 mins all by themselves. The laser tag was fun too. The vests were pretty big and heavy and it looked so big our littlest guy but he held his own. It seemed crowded when the summer camp group of kids were there, but when they all left, it wasn't crowded at all. Coming from LA, where anything fun is crowded, it was nice to not have to wait in long lines. We wanted to try the laser maze, but it wasn't working. The workers were all teenagers, and the manager guy looked maybe early 20's but they were all helpful. It was fun to spend a couple hours in the hot afternoon being indoors.

This was a fun spot to check out and play a round of mini golf. I was initially nervous the monster…read moretheme would be a little too much for the kids. But they loved it, especially the gigantic green monster that would occasionally pop up and tower over the course. There are many different packages you can purchase. I ended up going with the combo golf and arcade package. It was a fairly good deal and I knew there was no way I would be getting out of this place without my kids playing a few rounds of Air Hockey and Skee-ball. I also enjoy a good arcade game myself. Some of the games, not all of them, dispense digital tickets. We managed to collect enough to get some fun toys including a spider that would crawl down a wall and an ice cream cone where you can launch the ice cream right off. My son thought this was the best invention ever! Overall, our time here was spectacular. We can't wait to visit again!

He indicated a row of available high tops , and quickly gave us a menu, a rundown of the happy hour specials, and took our drink order. throughout our time there he checked in on us frequently. his service was wonderful. The food was fairly good, my club sandwich was fresh, stacked and came with a curly version of steak fries, perfectly cooked. the shrimp appetizer was well sauced, and a fairly good deal the night we came it was line dancing nite, there was a lively crowd, beginners to experts, and it seemed very inviting. the range of ages participating went from young to senior. it was nice to see the mix. The bathrooms are single user, and on that night they were very dirty, papers on the floor. other elements of the building also look a bit worn, but not down to "dive bar" levels. We will return!

We went here mainly for the arcade. For $20, you get about 100 credits which is fairly generous…read moresince there's a limited selection of games. Games that give you more tickets cost a little bit more in credits but on average it's probably around 5-6 credits per game. Unfortunately when we were there some of the machines were down and some that weren't supposed to be down were malfunctioning with pieces to the game not entirely working or simply taking credits from your card but not letting you play so be wary of those. Other than that, the exchangeable prizes are probably one of the better ones I've seen among all the arcades I've been to. I was able to get a lava lamp out of a few games and I love my lava lamp. Uptown Alley also has a sports bar and a bowling alley. Though my husband and I didn't really get to try them, they are there if you don't wanna do arcade but want to drink and/or maybe bowl with your friends. It's also situated in the mall so you can walk around the mall if you want. It stays open late even after the rest of the mall closes!

There has been a couple of occasions when machines werent working properly. When that happened the troubleshooting process went real smooth from informing the front desk to them calling the technician to fix the issue. Drinks and food are pretty good no complaints there. So... this was an interesting experience in customer service!…read more I used the FANZO sports bar finder website (fanzo.com) to determine that a pay-per-view boxing event was "confirmed" (per the website) to be showing at Dave & Buster's Fairfax this past Saturday afternoon. I called the location ahead of time that Saturday and spoke to a D&B employee, who put me on hold to check with her manager. She returned a short time later and confirmed that the bar would be showing the boxing event. I drove 20+ minutes to the location and, after waiting at the bar for a while, was told that no, Dave & Buster's would not be showing the event--even though it had been listed as "confirmed" on the sports bar finder website and despite management apparently confirming it over the phone less than an hour earlier. Later that night, I emailed Dave & Buster's Guest Relations (corporate) to explain what had happened and express my frustration with the experience. To my surprise, they responded promptly the next day (on a Sunday!), apologized, and credited me with Dave & Buster's gaming chips as a gesture of goodwill. (I did have to pay a little out of pocket to purchase the Power Card needed for Guest Relations to transfer the gaming chips, but I nonetheless very much appreciated the goodwill gesture.) So I'd definitely rate the initial experience at the location a 1, but I'd rate D&B Guest Relations' prompt response and gesture of goodwill a 4 or 5. So they get a 3 overall from me (higher than their current Yelp average). I'll say that my experiences at this venue prior to this past weekend have generally been good. I just don't think I'll feel comfortable relying on watching any pay-per-view sporting events at this location anytime soon, and - given the experience I had here - would warn others to independently verify any pay-per-view event before making the trip, even if Dave and Buster's staff confirms it over the phone.

Round 1 Arcade gets a lot of points from me in terms of variety. They have a massive selection of…read moregames, including a lot of really interesting Japanese style prize machines that were super fun and offered a unique challenge compared to standard claw machines (though they have plenty of the typical claw machines too). The Japanese style prize machines were definitely harder to win prizes from, but if you enjoy the challenge you'll find them very fun. They had some interesting games too that you don't typically see anymore, like an Initial D racing game and a ton of DDR machines. The arcade was very clean, and the staff was incredible. Super friendly, helpful, and constantly resetting and restocking the machines. Every staff member I interacted with was great and really on top of things. With all of that said, the biggest downside and the reason I will not be back is the cost. The games require a lot of credits per play, and many of them have extremely short playtimes, so you burn through your card extremely fast without even feeling like you've played much at all. This is especially true if you are trying for the plush prizes, since even the tiny keychain size plush machines come out to about $2.50 a play and only seem to payout every 2-3 tries. Even if you don't necessarily care about winning prizes the whole experience was so disappointing because it felt like we were blowing through our credits with barely any time to play since most of the games are incredibly short. Plenty of the games give you less than a minute of play time and cost $3-$4 to play. If you do care about prizes, the ticket redemption prize situation is pretty disappointing as well. The ticket costs for prizes are incredibly high, even after my husband hit a jackpot for 300 tickets we could barely afford anything at the gift shop. The ticket prize shop was huge, but when a tiny foam play sword costs 610 tickets it wasn't even fun to look through all of the potential winnings. Prizes weren't our main motivation for having an arcade date night, but when we were already feeling bummed from the lack of play time we actually got it really just felt like the icing on a terrible cake.
