Magic putting place is a family friendly minature golf. It is not that big and not that small. The price is right but is outdoors. I got a hole in one and so did my brother in law. We did not keep scored but enjoyed golfing and watching others. At each check point there is a place to sit and rest. Seniors need the rest which represents our family to a tee. Debit/ credit cards could not be taken at the time we came so always have some cash. We paid $7 per person which is a steal. The course was perfect and so was the weather! read more

Fun mini golf course located right next to Nathan's Dairy Bar. It's in a shopping center with a large parking lot so finding a place to park isn't a problem. There are two courses of 18 holes each and they aren't the larger or newest holes but a few of them are more challenging than you'd think. Prices are reasonable and they weren't too crowded around noon on a Saturday. I enjoyed this place and played one course so I'll come back sometime to try the other one. read more

You can play an 18 hold course for $6 and the second 18 hole course (36 holes) for an addition $3 or $9 total. Like what?! That's a bargain. Granted, all the holes are par 2, there isn't very much variation between the two courses. If there's a hole with split path on one course, there will be one on the second. They basically have two 18 hole courses, the first is $5/person and if you want to do the second course it's only another $3 more. Surprisingly, it was not that busy for a really nice Saturday and we eventually had the whole place to ourselves so no rushing either. It's tucked away in a small lot, but they've laid out the holes in a winding pattern that lets you get in a lot more courses than you might imaging from first glance. This place is a bit tiny.. and old.. BUT, it's good! Try to go off peak times because it can get crowded with kids. I know a lot of daycare centers go there for the mornings during summer camps. This place has 2 different courses.. you can start on the left.. or the right. As far as I know, this is the only miniature golf spot in Manassas. It looks like it's been a long time staple of the area. Located in a shopping strip named Reb Yank Center, which houses a washer/dryer repair shop, and other outdated storefronts, the golf spot fits right in. But it does have a certain quaint charm. It's a cheap evening outing for kids. $20 bucks got me 18 holes for four people. There were no grandiose holes or gadgets. Just some simple putting to the background music of classic rock. Cute. It does get backed up quickly, however. I felt the pressure of getting our party through the course quickly so that other folks behind us weren't just aimlessly waiting with nothing to do. There's nothing really to distract you unless you're playing your hole. Although there are ample amounts of benches around for patrons to cop a squat. They sell bags of chips but no real food or drink. But they're right across the street from an awesome ice cream stand. Rounds #6 and 7 (not including H-Street because that wasn't "real golf") of the summer of mini golf took place here! Luckally we were able to add Kevin L. to our group for some instant comic relief. There were many good things about the Magic Putting Place... and some less than desireable things The Good - price: $3.50 (on a weekday before 6) for one game and only $1.50 to play another 18 holes (at any time). If gas wasn't so expensive, i would say that the trip to manasas was definitely worth the cost. -decor: I really liked the almost rustic feel to it. Everything was fairly simply (minus the windmill and magic castle) but it was nice to not have to do crazy things like climb up pirate ships or dodge T-rexs for a while. -maintenance: The course was well maintained and tidy. -proximity to frozen dairy: Always a plus when right next door The "Not so Good" - the kids! Soooo many kids!! We must have let 5 groups go in front of us, since we're serious about our mini golf and definitely took our time. -boring! A lot of the holes were pretty much the same concept (especially between the two courses) so it got kind of repetitive. I'll say I was impressed at what the Magic Putting Place of Manassas had to offer: 2 semi-interesting courses at a very reasonable price. ($3.50 on a weekday before 6pm and only $1.50 to play another 18 holes). It's a colorful and interesting course that is well-maintained and requires some geometry (with the different triangles and rectangle obstacles on some greens). While we played during the day, there is definitely plenty of lights set up for when the sun goes down. My main complaint is the 18th hole. See when you're in a mini golf competition with friends and it's down to just a few putts between you and VICTORY, MPP's 18th hole can be your saving grace or be your achille's heel. It's kind set up like a Skee-Ball and whichever area your ball lands in, thats what your "score" is. Magic Putting Place is a startling find, literally in the middle of a parking lot in a strip mall of Manassas. The course is wonderfully maintained and looks new and clean with everything in working order, and obstacles all painted. There is also an abundance of lights throughout which I imagine looks pretty cool once the sun goes down. There are two 18-hole courses, and if you play both it costs something ridiculously inexpensive (like $5 or so). A phenomenal deal. So given the lack of availability of mini golf anywhere nearby, this would be a 4 star experience. But for an overall mini golf course, I give it a three. The two courses are essentially mirror images of each other so playing both starts to get old after a while. The designs are very basic with very few obstacles and most of the holes consisting of the standard hit it down to the far end and then make a two putt. Very few challenges, or multiple paths to choose. I really do like how straight all the brick walls are. Since a lot of mini golf strategy is about angles, a pet peeve of mine is when courses have jagged borders that send the ball into unpredictable directions. The 18th hole is always a controversial topic. I like a standard 18th hole and then a bonus 19th hole with a chance to win a free game. The absolute worst is when the 18th hole is the bonus hole. Any mini golf course with that methodology should be boycotted, in my mind. There's nothing like an impossible to score hole to suck the tension and excitement out of a game of heated mini-golf with a lot on the line. At MPP, they have a sort of hybrid. The 18th hole is the bonus hole where your ball disappears forever, but at least they offer a way to score it. It's laid out like skee-ball, and gives you a chance to score a 4, 3, 2, or 1 depending on which ring you get your ball. MPP is an exceptional value, and an oasis of fun in a desert of monotony. If you're in the area and looking for a family-friendly activity, or fun date idea, this will serve your needs nicely. With Nathan's Dairy Bar right next door, it's a perfect summertime combination. For flat out mini-golf though, I wouldn't really go too far out of my way to come here. Aside from the excellent maintenance of it, the course design just isn't that much fun. read more

Price for 18 holes of golf after 6 pm is $5.00 on weekdays (before 6 it is $4.50), which compared to some places is quite reasonable. Cheap, even. The greens are okay, no rips or tears. Clubs and golfballs are in good shape. The decor is nice - there's a waterfall, castle, windmill, small buildings and an actual golf cart to add interest. Lots of trees for shade.There is a large area in the middle where water should be, but it is now a big dry hole. Not as appealing as it could be, but whatever. There are actually two different 18-hole courses but I think they are similar in challenge. They have a bargain price if you want to play all 36 holes. When we were there, the sound system was playing a Classic Rock radio station, which was okay with me. Average sound, good music. The course itself isn't super challenging, most holes are Par 2. Lots of fun with the kids mid day, it has festive looking lights and stays open past dusk. The location is a little challenging. It shares a parking lot with an old strip mall and sits along the street. The plus is there is a ton of parking. Down side is some road noise and less shade, although there are lots of mature trees on the lot. The price is great, especially if you play both courses. This is the best mini golfing experience I have had in the Manassas area! My family and I spent the afternoon at the Magic Putting Place and had a BALL! There are two different courses, both fun and challenging. The course was clean and well kept and we were even able to sit and enjoy our Nathan's Ice Cream right on the course after our game! This minigolf course is very very basic. This would be fun for families, especially for children. However all but one of the holes are par 2 which should tell you everything you need to know about the mini golf course. It is not challenging, it is not a "cute little gem", there is nothing cute about it, no frills, no charm, it is a great price at $4 a round then $2 for extra rounds. This is a very basic mini golf course, even the photos are misleading, as the windmill and castle are the only frills, the rest of the holes are simple carpet without any embellishments. This is a place that I would take small children, I certainly would not take a date here. My date and I played both courses in less than an hour and then wondered what we would do next. read more

I guessed there will have a water fountain, but that wasn't the case. I had to buy over priced water at the counter and had to survive. I have to remember to bring water next time I visit. I have been to this place twice...the first time was with work and we brought our special education students there and lets just say it's extremely inaccessible to anyone in a wheelchair(we had 4 students in manual chairs and 1 in a power chair) myself and another assistant had to help the student in the power chair get through the course which was hard for us as well as the student...the student is very independent and does not like having to rely on others to get around in their chair therefore the student was very frustrated the whole trip! the second time was with friends and it was a little better but I guess I was still upset about the last time I had trouble having a good time...there are a ton of other mini golf places go to one of them not here! read more

The pluses of this place are: the price - $4.50 for 18 holes, an extra $2 if you want to play a full 36; the atmosphere - clean, family-owned, friendly woman working the counter; and a nice local business - this is probably the only mini-golf place in Manassas. But sentimentality aside folks, this place really isn't worth it unless you're in Manassas to start with, or you're trying to entertain little kids and have no other ideas. A few "areas for improvement": -not sure what course the most recent commenter was looking at, but went today, and the greens (astroturf) is pretty worn. Doesn't have holes in it, but there are a LOT of places where it is black and not green. -the course is REALLY basic. Most of the holes slope in some direction or another. Some of them have little metal blocks you can bang your ball off. But there's just a lot of room for improvement in each of these holes. For example, why do you showcase a windmill OR a magic castle, but put them above the holes? Aren't things like that, on a mini-golf course, supposed to be impediments for me to putt around? Props for the 18th hole, on both courses, which has a "skee-ball" element to it; but otherwise, most of the 36 holes were just lacking. -Front and back courses, each 18 holes, are almost identical. I imagine this is by design, and i get it. on crowded days, it spreads people out, and more people can play without waiting. But it's just boring and uncreative. I don't know. This place has a lot of potential to be a hidden gem of an amazing mini-golf place, and i left feeling just kinda eh. read more
