Main course came out from kitchen too quick.

I finally decided to try the Chubby Trout tonight. I was greeted by a couple of friendly and smiling faces at the door. I was Seated right away and introduced to my waitress, Taylor, immediately. Taylor deserves special accolades. She was so friendly and caring; she made my dining experience special. Thank you Taylor!! Taylor was awesome; she was friendly, always checking on me and sincerely concerned about my satisfaction. She was willing to do anything to make things right if I wasn't happy with something. First I ordered the Crab Cakes as an appetizer. Then I ordered off the specials menu; a Japanese spiced Branzino dish. The crab cakes were somewhat disappointing. Mostly filler and not much crab taste. Sometimes the taste actually resembled a tuna fish sandwich. The remoulade sauce that came with the crab cakes was really tasty. I wasn't really happy with the branzino dish. The fish was cooked pretty well, but "in my opinion" It had too much seasoning and the seasoning had an off flavor. Could just be my personal tastes. The restaurant has a lot of seating, little nooks and corners and a bar with seating. Plenty of quiet areas and areas to gather as a large group as well. Even though I didn't have great food choices today; I'm pretty sure while I'm in town this weekend, I'll go back and try some different dishes. See you all soon!!

Volcano sushi

The sushi was the best I've had in years. The ambiance in the restaurant matches the seafood vibes well. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Half order of Calamari Fingers

Love the name! So stinking cute! Stumbled on this restaurant because my mom wanted some fresh fish. I was surprised that it was walking distance. We still drove over. The parking lot was full, which is always a good sign that the restaurant is good especially on a weeknight. Once we were seated, our server came to greet us. We started off with a 1/2 order of calamari. So good! I ordered the chubby trout which is trout stuffed with shrimp and stuffing. My mom ordered the fried perch. For dessert, we ordered a piece of cake carrot to go. Comes with ice cream too. Would go back especially if I'm in the area.

This was going to be my dinner spot even though my hotel has a restaurant because I like to experience local restaurants. The place is very popular because it filled up fast. The decor is like a western theme with wagon wheel lights, barn door and lots of wood. They have an outdoor patio. Small bar and a dining room. My server was very friendly and we had a nice conversation because she had family in Lake Geneva Wi. I wad order a whisky old fashioned sour forgetting I was in IN and not WI so I wasn't expecting very much but to my surprise it was very good. I would order the queen prime rib rare with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The prime rib on its own was tender but bland on the dry rub probably because most of the clientele was older people. The au jus was bland once again with no big beef flavor. The creamy horseradish sauce was amazing and really delicious which made up for all the blandness. The sautéed vegetables were fresh with carrots, cauliflower, green beans and peppers. The mashed potatoes were lumpy skin on. Over it was fresh food, good drink and great service.

Signature Grilled Chicken Salad You can swap chicken for ahi tuna for an up charge. I can't do cheese, but normally it comes with cheese.

Very nice. Walkable from the hotels, but honestly a bit pricy for the area. Online has a gluten free, but otherwise no real indication for food sensitivities on menu. They are in the middle of changing their menu. The smoked prime rib is no longer smoked it is just roasted. They do mention this when you sit down, but just a heads up. Ambiance is very nice. I enjoyed it. Clean and friendly staff. You can sit at the high tops outs while you wait and they have a limited menu with full bar drinks that you can order from while you wait.

Crazy snowy night. Ordered carry out dinner to eat in the hotel room. We were feeding 3 people. The salmon was a nice piece of fish and cooked well. Mashed potatoes with coleslaw. $28 was a little steep in my opinion. My son ordered the fried perch. My daughter had a couple of good sized rolls...overall a good experience. Would like to dine in next time. The place was packed.

Wally Walley - giant fish filet with almond crust

Found this rustic old livestock barn that's been converted into a fish house, and though we picked it because it was convenient, it ended up being a great find. The fish was excellent, but the non-fish options aren't an afterthought: the chicken bacon ranch burrito was seriously good.

Was very busy but our wait wasn't too long and our sushi boat was amazing!! We also had a very attentive server!!!

Walleye dinner with sweet potato fries and coleslaw.

We had such an enjoyable experience. The server was very attentive even though the time to receive our meal seemed extensive. The place was not busy when we arrived but many large parties were seated after us. The food was very good. Pretzel knots with the dips was a great appetizer for 4 adults. Walleye meal was huge! Lake perch portion was quite generous as well. Highly recommend this place. Restaurant could have been a bit cooler though.

This was the sushi role that the person beside me had. It's the Chef Gil Roll.

What a wonderful experience and a great restaurant with delicious looking sushi that I didn't eat but wonderful lake perch that I did have was great. Highly suggested. If you're in the area, check it out.

Friendly staff, excellent prices. If you are from a coast, you might want to skip the sushi ... but the rest of the menu is excellent.

I came to Cascade for my birthday dinner, and from the first plate to the last bite of cake, this…read morekitchen made the case that it belongs in the Michelin Guide. The dining room sits at the base of a residential building right on the river. The floor to ceiling views of the water doing half the decorating, and the other half is a menu with real ambition: market oysters and chilled shellfish towers, USDA Prime steaks, a 40-day dry aged strip, and A5 Miyazaki wagyu. This is the Navarre Group operating at its highest level, and it shows. I started with market oysters on ice with champagne mignonette and cocktail sauce. I got a taste of the ocean in every slurp. Yes, eating oysters is noisy. Then the crab cake, and I do not say this lightly: it is one of the best crab cakes I have ever had, anywhere. Jumbo blue crab, barely held together, seared golden, sitting in a kimchi aioli with a bright pop of Peruvian sweet peppers on top. All crab, no filler games. Order it. Thank me later. The black cod was the star of the night. Miso glazed, sesame crusted, served over broccolini in a lemongrass dashi, and it was the most tender cod in the Midwest. Silky, rich, perfectly balanced between sweet and savory, the kind of plate where the table goes quiet for a second. If you order one entree here, make it this one. The grilled lobster tail came out a touch small for the price, but the flavor was all there, and whoever thought to serve the drawn butter over a tea light candle deserves a raise. The butter stays warm from the first dip to the last. Small detail, but elite execution. The grilled asparagus with verjus blanc and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano was simple and exactly appropriate alongside everything else. Dessert was a towering slice of layered chocolate cake with a birthday candle in it, rich without being heavy, and the right ending to the meal. I was given a card signed by the entire staff. Shoutout to the following personnel: Emily V, Jordan and the hostess. Each of them made this visit feel truly magical. Now the honest notes, because a real review has them. The lobster bisque missed very badly. It had the consistency of a potato soup and only the smallest trace of lobster. So, it is the one dish I would not order again. It is also the clearest opportunity for improvement on an otherwise stacked menu. Also, plan your arrival: parking is tight, and on busy nights you will want the valet. Book ahead, too. Prime time reservations here do not sit open. Bottom line: Cascade is the most elite dining experience in South Bend right now. Birthdays, anniversaries, client dinners, or just a night you want to feel like a celebrity, this is the room. I will be back.

Moreover, the pork chop and cod are both very nice entrees. The cod was tender and flaky, and the flavor of the miso glaze was a nice complement to the fish. The pork chop was also cooked nicely with a bit of sweetness from the peaches. The vibes of the restaurant were incredible as well. The outdoor seating faces the river, and I liked the lighting of the interior. Our server was also very friendly during our visit. Cascade is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area.
