I went here with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and it was amazing! Not only is the quality of the meat up to par, but the servers are super attentive and check up on you often. To order more rounds, you simply use the iPad they provide and there's a mini buffet for you to get sides and drinks. The restaurant was also clean with a cool Japanese vibe full of duramas. The sides are lacking compared to the Korean BBQs; however the meat quality is superb when comparing to the KBBQ places of Atlanta. Know the best cuts of meat, stack the order to the max. After my friend and I attended MomoCon, we headed to a newly opened BBQ restaurant called Chubby Cattle (Niu Wushi). Since it's a popular new spot, we waited about 40 minutes to get a table. But during the wait, you can ask the hostess for a cup and help yourself to some drinks, which is a nice touch. There's also a small waiting room where you can sit, relax, and chat with friends while waiting to be seated--very thoughtful, since waiting outside might make people give up and leave. After some time, we finally got our table. I have to say, the restaurant keeps things impressively clean--you wouldn't even be able to tell anyone had used the table before us. Our server warmly introduced us to the buffet options, and we went with the Gold Tier, which includes a selection of special, limited-edition dishes. First impression: the buffet is on the pricier side. The Gold Tier starts at $65 per person. But as we got into it, we realized the quality really does justify the price. From the limited specials, we tried the A5 Miyazaki short ribs, pineapple wagyu chuck, and thick-cut wagyu belly. We also picked the eel and foie gras hand roll, another special item. Then came the unlimited BBQ buffet. Must-tries include the Australian M8-9 chuck with egg, wagyu tongue platter, A5 wagyu lean cuts, tender beef, and wagyu brisket. Also, don't miss the yellowtail sashimi and Japanese-style salmon slices--at other places like Mikado, these are limited to one serving per person, but here, they're all-you-can-eat. For sides and snacks, we got the wagyu pork dumplings, wagyu buns, cheese durian, tom yum soup, and takoyaki--perfect for balancing out the richness of the wagyu. The highlight, without a doubt, was the special limited-edition dishes--flavorful and absolutely top-notch. As for the Platinum Tier, it only adds one extra limited special dish per person (so three people get six specials total), but it costs around $98 per person--about $20 more. Personally, I think the Gold Tier is the best value, though it really depends on your preferences. If you come often, it's worth considering their membership program--it can save you quite a bit. And their wagyu quality is genuinely excellent--so tender and flavorful. Pro tip: since the all-you-can-eat BBQ is time-limited, make sure to order all the limited specials and signature wagyu cuts right away using the tablet. Once those are on their way, you can continue ordering whatever else you'd like. When your wagyu dishes start arriving, place your next round of orders right away--since the portions are small, this strategy helps you enjoy as much as possible within the time limit. They also have milk tea, a self-serve rice station, and some foil-wrapped hot dishes you can enjoy alongside the BBQ. Overall, my friend and I had a great time chatting and eating our fill. While I do love the Wagyu beef and all I'm somewhat disappointed. I've been here several times. One time we had a party of 7 and while we can only order like 10 items at one time which takes about 10-12 mins from ordering to receiving of next set felt too long. One plate has only 2-3 small pieces of meats. We all just sat there waiting and waiting to get more which interferes with our "70 minutes". It just was not enough for our party of 7. So just an FYI if you have party of more than 4. They were out of rice and couple other things too, had to wait a while as well. Around 20 mins. Should be better stock up on a Saturday night! Overall I will come back but not with many people since everyone got frustrated with the amount of food that comes out that doesn't equal to the amount of people. read more

Update [2025.06.07]: Added some menu pictures. Went back for the second time with a couple of friends. The service was still great; our server, Ricky, was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. When he cooked the Miso Wagyu Chunk [Chuck*?] Eye, he wrapped the meat around the onions, which enhanced the taste of the dish. I went with my family on a Thursday night and it wasn't too busy, which is what we wanted. All four of us got the Diamond Tier, which came out to be $88 per person and includes a limit of 2 specialty meats and 2 specialty dishes per person. We don't have the Chubby Club membership. There is a time limit of 90 minutes. If you have excessive leftovers, you can be charged. - We tried a variety of food and enjoyed them all, especially the Japanese Wagyu. They have a self-serve bar with offerings like rice, drinks, sauces, and desserts. The picture of the receipt only shows a portion of what we tried. - The service was excellent; our server, Ashley Z., cooked our meat and was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. - The atmosphere was nice and not too loud, which may not be the case during weekends. Overall, a very pleasant experience. The interior design is very unique and well-thought out. Drinks are included in the price, and a5 wagyu. I recommend the Australian wagyu for best lean to fat ratio. They have an automatic rice machine and curry right by it. The fried xiao long bao isn't that good though. The price point is a bit much, however, and there are restrictions on what you can eat (only two speciality plates) even when you orders the most expensive option. The service is very attentive, and our server alone deserves a 5 star. I recommend this as a twice a year experience because you will try to sign up for membership to save money. read more

Chubby Cattle BBQ have been our go to spot lately. Tonight, we had Ricky who was our waiter and he helped us with all of the cooking. Every time we tried to cook it ourselves, it's usually lackluster but Ricky helped speed up everything for us, meats were super tasty and we got an extra round of food because of the efficiency.
