There are few things that will make me nostalgic for my youth, but one is definitely the smell of Christy's donuts! I've been going to Christy's with my family since we first moved here from the Philippines (in 1991). I've seen Christy when she was pregnant, when she had her babies, and now that her babies aren't babies! They are such a sweet family and I love going there and seeing them hard at work. Ok, now on to the important stuff! The food! Christy's donuts are perfectly fried and flavored. They're sweet, but not overly and they have a HUGE selection. My personal favorites are the chocolate, glazed, and maple donuts. They also have a huge selection of donut holes--plain, custard filled, chocolate filled, rasberry filled! First, let me tell you that I don't eat a lot of donuts. In fact, the last time I had a donut was probably over a year ago. For some reason, when I woke up this morning I had a craving for donuts. I opened up my trusty Yelp app and discovered Christy's in the area. I dropped by and picked up some glazed donut holes, custard filled donut holes, and a pineapple cream cheese filled pastry. I brought my three bags across the plaza to Starbucks and ate them with a cup of hazelnut latte. I ate the glazed donut hole first. It was soft, fluffy, and not overly sweet. The custard filled one seemed a little sweeter. It wasn't the custard that made it sweeter 'cause I licked the custard by itself and it was barely sweet. Perhaps that bite had a little more glaze on it. The pineapple cream cheese was good too. The cream cheese helped tone down the pineapple which also wasn't overly sweet. Overall, the donuts are fresh. I'm a sucker for anything with custard, so it definitely hit the spot. read more

This place makes the greatest donut holes....filled and plain. I came here a couple times to bring donuts to work. The biggest haul I did was purchase about 15 dozen donut holes. I had to call right when they opened (430am) to make sure they had enough put aside. Thank God i did, because when i showed up Friday morning (730am), the place was packed and the donut holes were going fast. Everyone at worked loved it. lets just say....we have about 20 to 30 people in our group, and that day all 15 dozen was gone in an hour or 2 and we were all on a sugar high. This is my favorite donut shop in Milpitas. Although, I do not eat their donuts, I do however ask Irene to make a the Cisco sandwich. Egg, lettuce, tomato, bacon and many more ingredients that will make your mouth water with your first bite. Their coffee is also my favorite Ambiance is not as beautiful as starbucks but to me it's very comfortable. And the people who go there are friendly and easy to talk to if that's your thing. I've never really had bad tasting donuts, so to me.. donuts are donuts. This place has a great variety of different kinds of donuts. When I'm craving one, I always get donut holes, custard filled donut holes or just the plain glazed kinds =) They satisfy my craving each time. The staff here are very nice and they sometimes give you a couple of extra donuts during the day (my mom always raves about that when she comes here). My husband also buys donuts here for his co-workers, so far no complaints from them. FYI: The line can get pretty long in the morning, but don't worry, it moves quick. read more

My husband and his colleagues highly recommended this dough nut store. Today we had a BBQ party. We bought two dozen of Custard Filled Dough Nuts. And it's only $5.00! $2.50 a dozen?! Just after we bought it, I tried one. It was really nice, very fresh. When we were in a party, a few hours later, i tried one again. It was not that fresh . There is really some difference in taste. My family has been going to this donut shop for several years now and they have pretty good traditional donuts along with different varieties of croissant sandwiches. I had one bad experience with a blue berry muffin I purchase about two years ago. I usually save the top of the muffin to eat last so I peeled off the cupcake wrapper and took a bite of the muffin bottom. As I was chewing away, I looked back down at the muffin and saw a mess full of mold! I quickly spit the the remnants out. I went back to Christy's to complain. I motioned the employee toward the back and handed him the muffin. He took it in his hands, took a good look at it, startled, he dropped the muffin on the counter. For the trouble, all he did was reimburse the cost of the muffin which was a dollar something. I avoided this place for about two years. I ended up using their services again because my family likes them so much. read more

Disappointing - I don't get the hype!! Plastic wrap taste in the mouth: Ordered a dozen of the Donut Holes, the cream, chocolate and jelly filled and everything tasted old, like it's been plastic wrapped for days. The Bacon & Egg Croissant I ordered as well tasted like it bathed in plastic wrap. The Croissant is pre-prepped already with bacon and egg displayed sitting on a tray; all the ingredients are lacking in taste and I realize this is due again to the old ingredients used. Got to Christys in the morning when they still had a huge assortment of food; so my order wasn't the 'bottom of the barrel' and 'end of the day' kind of a thing. Reading the negative reviews now, I understand where the plastic wrap taste is coming from: they still use their old oil. Looks like Christys is still struggling with this exact issue as the complaint of the old oil goes back a few years. Doubtful I'll be returning. read more

Nice place. Everybody on Yelp says, "Get the donut holes!" When my sister and I were there, they were out! Oh no! But, always have a backup plan :) So, we got the glazed donut (85 cents) and donut twist (1 buck). I wasn't a fan of the twist, but the plain glazed donut is really good. I came here today with my friend Dianne because she was raving about the breakfast bagels. It was about 2 o'clock so I was surprised they were still selling them. Basically, they make them until there aren't any bagels left. They open super early and don't close until 5 pm. I got the bacon and egg in a jalapeno bagel. The jalapeno bagel is delicious! I usually like onion/garlic bagels but the jalapeno bagel was really really good. They have 2 kinds of breakfast bagels, one with bacon and egg, and another one with cheese. However, they put cheese in mine anyway. Most people would love this, but I hate cheese, so I scraped my cheese off. So to all the non-cheese lovers or lactose kids, make sure you tell them you don't want cheese in it. Nonetheless, I was completely diggin' my breakfast bagel at 2 in the afternoon. The egg was cooked perfectly and bacon is always delicious! I got my breakfast bagel and a Snapple drink for $5 even. So down! I'll definitely be back for more breakfast bagels and I want to try the custard filled donut holes too! The ladies who worked there were really nice and our food came out pretty quickly. People were NOT joking on the reviews when they said they run out of things early... I should've expected that visiting around lunch time when they open a little before the crack of dawn. I mainly came here for the CUSTARD DONUT holes. They had about 100 left so I got 8 for myself. The sweet lady threw in an extra one (as everyone says as well). I also ordered the chocolate cruller and the glazed donut. Those were just mediocre! I really enjoyed my custard donut holes though. I've never had custard donuts before so I had pretty high expectations. I liked the fact that the custard wasn't overly sweet. It meshed well and tasted delicious together! I'm a pretty late breakfast eater, so one day I was craving donuts around 12 noon. I wasn't expecting a whole lot to be there considering how late it was, but they have A LOT.
