    Spinach artichoke dip & chips.

As an "out of towner" who is checking out the "local" eats instead of big chains, I was not impressed here. I'll say our waitress was friendly, and our drinks never got empty because she sat a fancy glass bottle of our drink on our table so that we could refill our drinks. It was just my husband and I. Our appetizer came out quickly (spinach artichoke dip) and it was delicious. The chips had a seasoning on them that were really delicious. Our food took forever to come out though. They weren't busy, so it was confusing. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a burger. The restaurant is located in a corner of a little strip mall, the ambiance is low lighting with little candles on your table. They had a beautiful Christmas tree in the main area downstairs. Overall, it was good but not somewhere I'd make sure to tell people to rush to if they're in the area.

Gouda Mac & Cheese, Truffle Fries and Meatloaf

Casual pub vibe with great bar service. Meatloaf with Gouda Mac & Cheese were filling/delicious. The truffle fries weren't crispy and the seasoning was powdery/chalky. Kitchen didn't bring our meals out together. So this went from a 5 to 4 review based on that service failure and the letdown on the fries.

Corn Chowder soup of the day. It is absolutely delicious and unlike any corn chowder I have ever tasted.

Our family discovered Christophers Eats on Yelp, while passing through town on the way to North Carolina. Our visit was stellar from start to finish. First, the inside of this building is warm and cozy. The staff was equally warm and friendly. Second, the service was lightning-fast. I have received quick and great service at other establishments in the past, but our experience at Christopher's Eats was definitely one of the best. But now let's talk about the star of the evening: the food. Christopher's offers a nice wine list, including both whites and reds. I chose a pleasant glass of Riesling. Next we ordered Bruschetta for an appetizer, along with a cup of corn chowder, which was their soup of the day. This was unlike any corn chowder I have ever tasted. It featured giant-sized chunks of potato and a beef-like broth. It was so good! It was an especially nice dish on a cold, rainy evening. For our entree, each of us ordered the Bison Burger but each with different sides. I ordered the shaved brussel sprouts while my husband ordered the truffle fries. Both sides were delicious, though my husband commented that the fries has a bit too much parmesan cheese for his liking. I sampled them and thought they were quite good. I typically don't care for truffle fries but I would definitely order them at Christopher's Eats. Finally, the burger. It was juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. I even liked the caramelized onions on top, which is something I don't normally enjoy. In this case, they really added to the overall flavor of the burger. Yum! I highly recommend Christopher's Eats! So the next time you're in the neighborhood, stop in for a bite. Bon Appétit!

We live around two hours from the Huntington area and wanted a day trip. My wife said "pick us out some where good to eat". I chose Christopher's Eats. We arrived on a Saturday about 1 PM and were quickly seated. The ambiance and mood was well lit but still cozy and comfortable. Our server was Brookelynn and she was easily one of the best servers I've had in quite sometime. She was super friendly and made recommendations about things that weren't readily apparent from the menu. We had our three year old daughter with us and she made sure she had a little toy to play with and keep her busy. Her knowledge of the beer and cocktail selections was spot on and we enjoyed everything we had. I had the Cuban sandwich and their "simple salad" with the "herb" dressing that is a very good vinaigrette. My wife and I shared the coconut shrimp and pimiento fries and she ordered an extra side of the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese and was very happy with it. It's very obvious from the get go that everything you are served is fresh and made in house. We walked out very happy and satisfied with our selection of the restaurant and all the food and drinks we had. If you're in the area and want to step outside the chains this place should get your consideration.

The server was doing her absolute best to keep up with everyone but it was impossible without help. No other employees came up to help her and absolutely no effort from managers either. So one hour later and we hadn't even had the opportunity to order. Not exaggerating. We left and I asked to pay for our soft drinks and 2 baskets of chips. A manager handed me a bill for $35. I couldn't even bring myself to argue so I paid it (and tipped our young server who had been put in a horrible situation). We will never go there again. Absolutely horrible.

We were sat outside next to noisy construction, and the table had layers of dust/dirt that stuck to our hands. Service was okay, our server was relatively new and trying her best. We went on a Wednesday for the pizza and pitcher deal advertised on their website. We were pretty disappointed to see that not only was the deal not actually being offered, but they don't serve pizza anymore! We were told that this was to redirect customers to DP dough since it's owned by the same people. At least update the website! We overheard the customers at the table next to us got a salad comped due to low quality, so we decided not to order food. Pretty disappointed because this used to be a great casual spot downtown!

Bruno's Spotted Hare is fantastic…read more I stopped by recently with a family member while visiting, having heard good initial things about this restaurant. The space is gorgeous; it has the dark coziness of a lodge with beautiful, wild-inspired accents. We were seated in a booth near the window: the booth was comfortable but may be a tight squeeze if two larger adults are sitting on the same side (I'd recommend asking for a table in that case). I started off with an American Trilogy cocktail and loved it; it was surprisingly smooth and easy to drink while being flavorful. We debated appetizer options but went with the sourdough bread and butters. The butters were rosemary, garlic, and sorghum, and while all were great, the sorghum was a favorite. The bread was flavorful and nicely chewy. I'm always happy to see a vegetarian-friendly soup on a menu, so I ordered the beans and greens soup and loved it. It has a very deep flavor, yet the beans weren't overly mushy. The server (who was amazing) recommended some Tabasco for adding heat, which I enjoyed. For entrées, my dining partner got the fried chicken on the server's recommendation, and I got the mushroom pasta. The fried chicken was described by my relative as a crunchy coating with a moist meat; they called it "the best fried chicken" they've had. I tasted the mashed potatoes and can happily vouch for them, as they were creamy and perfectly seasoned. My dining partner raved about the home-style green beans, too. My mushroom pasta was fantastic. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were flavorful without being slimy or mushy. The pasta was hearty and cooked al dente. As a pleasant surprise. I got a couple slices of bread with my pasta, too; this time topped with some cheese and seasoning. It was perfect for soaking up the last bits of pasta sauce, as I cleaned my plate. I got dessert to go; it was the cornmeal pound cake and packaged conveniently (with the ice cream separate). It was delicious even at home; the cake itself wasn't too sweet, meaning that the combination of it, the ice cream, and the honey had a perfect balance of flavor. I will try to make a special trip here whenever I'm in the area. It's a beautiful, special addition to the local dining scene.
