I ordered the pork chop with peach sauce and fried apples. When it arrived I smelled something odd but figured it was the peach sauce paired with pork and then the apples. I ate 4 bites of the pork and it was ok but the smell was off so I just took the rest home. Figured it was just my sense of smell not liking the pairing. Placed it in the fridge immediately at home. Next day I went to get it for lunch. It reeked. I turned it over and the smell was putrid. My daughter gagged from the smell. The meat was rotten and completely raw in a 2 inch square section. I took pics. The atmosphere was good and service was very good. But that pork chop was a health department nightmare. read more

Dinner tonight was the best meal of our week-long vacation! We love to eat at local restaurants where there's a good chance we might get to try something special and Christopher's Eats did not disappoint. First, the restaurant has a cool vibe and the people are nice. You get the feeling that the people coming and going know what they're getting when they walk in and it's what keeps them coming back. My seared tuna steak with mango salsa, carrots, and asparagus was perfectly prepared and far better than what you'd get at a chain restaurant. I forgot to mention the fries with pimento cheese as an appetizer... They were the best fries I think I've ever had. For dessert, if there's something to know about Christopher, it's that his scratch-made cheesecakes are amazing. Tonight's special was key lime cheesecake. No. Regrets. If I could stick around longer; I'd like to work my way through everything on the menu. Great options for kids too! A corndog with applesauce hit the spot. Arrived at 8:00 p.m. on a Friday night. Our entrees, appetizers, and drinks arrived in about 10 minutes. Not necessarily in that order. I ordered the meatloaf with sweet potato wedges and Brussels sprouts. The meatloaf was a bit on the anemic side. Imagine what you might be served at an upscale French restaurant and that is about the portion of the meatloaf, roughly the size of a tennis ball. It was very moist and quite good as were the sides. The sweet potato wedges were basically sweet potato fries with the skins on and maybe six in total. Again, fewer than expected. The house salad was great. Not just romaine with carrot shavings. It had mixed greens, including spinach, carrots, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The dressings are all made in house. Our server was attentive and fantastic. Brought refills before needing them or asking. The ambiance is definitely higher class but the dress is casual. I would definitely return. read more

The atmosphere was cool, the directions on GPS take you to the back/bottom of the restaurant so go with your gut instinct and turn into the parking lot off the Main Street and drive all the way back to the entrance. As an "out of towner" who is checking out the "local" eats instead of big chains, I was not impressed here. I'll say our waitress was friendly, and our drinks never got empty because she sat a fancy glass bottle of our drink on our table so that we could refill our drinks. It was just my husband and I. Our appetizer came out quickly (spinach artichoke dip) and it was delicious. The chips had a seasoning on them that were really delicious. Our food took forever to come out though. They weren't busy, so it was confusing. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a burger. The restaurant is located in a corner of a little strip mall, the ambiance is low lighting with little candles on your table. They had a beautiful Christmas tree in the main area downstairs. Overall, it was good but not somewhere I'd make sure to tell people to rush to if they're in the area. read more

We go to Christophers every Friday night. This past Friday we got there for our 6:00 pm reservation. We were seated in the bar at a high top table which was very tight with the people next to us. I also couldn't get close enough to the table. So we asked to be seated elsewhere. I am not sure who this person was that was very rude and told us they had no other tables and we would have to wait 45 minutes.. He offered no resolution other than waiting. If he had been a bit nicer we might have stayed, but opted to leave. Not sure if we will return after being treated like that. read more

Well it's the first time I got fries that were 1 inch long ,looked like the last of the bag! I got the fish and chips, very average. The Breaded fish was ok . Lemon aid was very good and the service was good. I should've sent it back for better fries but , if they can't get it right the first time, probably won't get it right the 2 nd time. We live around two hours from the Huntington area and wanted a day trip. My wife said "pick us out some where good to eat". I chose Christopher's Eats. We arrived on a Saturday about 1 PM and were quickly seated. The ambiance and mood was well lit but still cozy and comfortable. Our server was Brookelynn and she was easily one of the best servers I've had in quite sometime. She was super friendly and made recommendations about things that weren't readily apparent from the menu. We had our three year old daughter with us and she made sure she had a little toy to play with and keep her busy. Her knowledge of the beer and cocktail selections was spot on and we enjoyed everything we had. I had the Cuban sandwich and their "simple salad" with the "herb" dressing that is a very good vinaigrette. My wife and I shared the coconut shrimp and pimiento fries and she ordered an extra side of the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese and was very happy with it. It's very obvious from the get go that everything you are served is fresh and made in house. We walked out very happy and satisfied with our selection of the restaurant and all the food and drinks we had. Our family discovered Christophers Eats on Yelp, while passing through town on the way to North Carolina. Our visit was stellar from start to finish. First, the inside of this building is warm and cozy. The staff was equally warm and friendly. Second, the service was lightning-fast. I have received quick and great service at other establishments in the past, but our experience at Christopher's Eats was definitely one of the best. But now let's talk about the star of the evening: the food. Christopher's offers a nice wine list, including both whites and reds. I chose a pleasant glass of Riesling. Next we ordered Bruschetta for an appetizer, along with a cup of corn chowder, which was their soup of the day. This was unlike any corn chowder I have ever tasted. It featured giant-sized chunks of potato and a beef-like broth. It was so good! It was an especially nice dish on a cold, rainy evening. For our entree, each of us ordered the Bison Burger but each with different sides. I ordered the shaved brussel sprouts while my husband ordered the truffle fries. Both sides were delicious, though my husband commented that the fries has a bit too much parmesan cheese for his liking. I sampled them and thought they were quite good. I typically don't care for truffle fries but I would definitely order them at Christopher's Eats. Finally, the burger. It was juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. I even liked the caramelized onions on top, which is something I don't normally enjoy. In this case, they really added to the overall flavor of the burger. Yum! I highly recommend Christopher's Eats! It's just that the buns fall apart. Had a grilled chicken sandwich last time and the bun fell off that too. The steaks look good but I haven't had one. I ordered the grilled peach salad with goat cheese and candied pecans. The blueberry vinaigrette was sooo good! I added grilled chicken. The smaller salad was huge. Stopped here for Sunday brunch and it was amazing. The grits were so smooth and buttery and just the right amount of spice in the etouffee. Services was wonderful and helpful explaining anything needed. Had their featured drink for the day and it tasted like warm cinnamon banana bread. Christopher's has redeemed themselves with their pulled pork nachos and Atlantic salmon. Our server was very pleasant and attentive and gave great recommendations. The pulled pork nachos were so delectable and plain finger licking good. I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon with tzatziki that was cooked to perfection. Christopher's Eats is a classy place in an unexpected spot, a true gem worthy of a visit for locals and those driving through the area. Came here with a friend at her recommendation and was blown away by the quality of the offerings here. I had the pimento burger, and I am not embellishing to say that it was some of the highest-quality beef I have ever tasted. I didn't sample my friend's salmon dish, though it at least appeared aesthetically perfect to me and she claimed it was delicious. I enjoyed a Dogfish Head Suddenly Comfy draft and my friend got one of their custom cocktails, both of which were impressive offerings and miles ahead of the typical domestics most places in the area are limited to. I wasn't as wowed by their dessert menu but the cheesecake offerings here do look delicious (maybe skip the apple cobbler). The interior and exterior of the restaurant are warm and inviting, with plenty of space for small and large groups (though I was surprised how few small tables were available in the bar area, and they do not permit them to be used by two-person parties even during non-peak hours). Our server was pleasant though took quite a while to get us our drinks and proceed to the meal part of things, though it's entirely possible that they were short-staffed at a transitional point of the day. Prices were fair given the quality of what you are getting, though you are far better off requesting an additional side rather than substituting one for your salad, since it costs $3 to substitute and $4 to add another side. I definitely plan to return here another time to enjoy more that Christopher's has to offer. Definitely bookmark this place for your next outing! Overall: 4.5 stars --- Pros: - Incredible food (particularly high-quality beef). - Varied lunch, dinner, drink, and dessert menus. - Aesthetically appealing inside and out. - Prices are very fair considering the value provided. - Conveniently located close to exit 15 of I-64, with plenty of parking. Cons: - Service can be slow at times, though I will be a better judge of this when I have visited several times (plan to update the review at that point). - Apple cobbler on the dessert menu is almost entirely apple chunks and a dearth of cobbler, consider any other item on the dessert menu. read more

Five stars for Collin our server! The table tops are made out of bowling lanes. :) Food was good and the service was great. The wooden floors were a bit sticky walking up to the second floor but everything else was great. So we are local and this place is always worth a stop. We were very early as we had a prior commitment ( seated at 4:15). Ambience is good as always. Service was good initially but I had to flag our waitress ( by means of another waitress) when my beer was out for 5 minutes. We ordered the seared tuna as an appetizer. None of us 3 were impressed. There is no seasoning just plain seared tuna with a lot of salad toppings. We have had other appetizers and were all good, especially the truffle fries. As for dinner, she had a burger and it was amazing. Cooked perfectly. The flatbread ( extra pepperoni and cooked crispy) was good but a lot of sauce. Daughter ordered grilled chicken and Mac and cheese. Both good. Dessert was a special peach bread pudding. This my friends was amazing. read more

Nice inside and parking situation is awful. Nice bar and decent drinks with extra cute WV bar stools. We were a medium group and we were placed at a very wide table, made sharing difficult and hearing required a scream or two. Food tried to hard to be upscale bar food. Pizza was blah for 17$ Brussel sprouts were overcooked and mushy. Bison burger was lean and okay. Some sandwiches had bread overload buns and drink refills were hard to come by. Too expensive for what it is. Might be nice to sit up top on outside deck for a beer or two, just not excited about the food. Plan on at minimum 21$ a person and we were there for lunch. read more
