Stopped here when in town for a Marshall basketball game. Friend of mine lives in Huntington and he said it was pretty good. So we ate upstairs and pretty much just chatted and watched the televisions. I had the Santa Fe chicken dinner which I thought was pretty good for the most part. A little on the cheap side in quality but still good. Friend had one of the route 66 burger which he said was also pretty good. So the food here is okay but it's nothing spectacular. Definitely would be willing to come back though and try out many of their other things. Service was good for the most part and the ambience was just sports bar. Nothing really else to say about it except it's close to a college campus so that's usually always up in the air on how good things are. But I'm sure they stay just as busy nonetheless.

The wild rills burger was absolutely awesome! Flavorful, juice and cook just right. Good burbon selection. Sit downstairs, the beer service is better (they don't stock the same beer on both floors. Fries are fresh and delicious.

We stopped here when in town for a concert and it was terrible!! They were out of menus and cups. Then it took 20 minutes to get drinks we literally ordered water and 2 cocktails. Then it took another HOUR to receive appetizers after we asked where they were. Which they then come out cold!! The food was terrible the chicken and rice bowl was slimy and gross the best and most edible thing was the egg rolls and those were just ok. This place would be great for just drinks but AVOID THE FOOD!

I stopped into Calamity J for a bite and a drink after a Marshall basketball game. It wasn't too crowded so my friend and I sat at the bar. I started with the cheese soup, which the bartender said was a popular item, plus it was pretty cold outside. The soup included bacon and homemade croutons. The soup was hot and tasty, but I wish it wasn't so thick. I had a salad with grilled chicken as my main entree. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. I was very pleased with the salad! Service was good and I loved the restaurants vibe. I will definitely stop by again and try some other menu items.

Delicious food, would give it more than 5 stars if I could! Casual atmosphere and great service.

What a terrible disappointment. When I come back into town, I would always stop in for my favorite dish, the jalapeño angle-hair pasta with shrimp. It's one of the few menu items leftover from the original restaurant. The recipe is simple, but oh so good. I still make it at home from Roy's original recipe that was published decades ago in Huntington Quarterly magazine. Although it hasn't been nearly as good in past years, and declining more my last visit obviously because shortcuts have been made to the recipe; whoever is the current chef has no sense of what the dish was previously and zero palate. The entire dish was encrusted in some sort of Southwest Blend of spices that overwhelmed what this dish is supposed to be. The shrimp which are supposed to be cooked to just done and lightly sprinkled with cayenne pepper were cooked to the consistency of a victim of Pompeii. If bounced off the floor they would have hit the ceiling. There was no hint of a pine nut in the sauce. The Angel hair has been replaced with spaghetti noodles and were undercooked. It was sad. I didn't eat a quarter of the plate, which I had always finished before, never leaving a scrap. For reference the attached photo is what this dish is supposed to look like, made in my own kitchen from the original recipe. That was my last trip to Calamity. There are at least a few other better restaurants to visit in town when I come back home.

Greasy food. Would not eat here again. I ordered a half size grilled chicken salad and the breadstick is soaked in grease/butter. The steak crazy bowl is ...not good. It's very greasy, the steak is like chipped steak or remnants of steak--very gross. They could at least do a sirloin or tip steak. I don't know what I was expecting , but it wasn't this. For the price I would expect better quality food.

Cool ambience. Margaritas weren't very good. Meal was much better multiple appetizers and a cheesy chicken bowl.

First, the restaurant has a cool vibe and the people are nice. You get the feeling that the people coming and going know what they're getting when they walk in and it's what keeps them coming back. My seared tuna steak with mango salsa, carrots, and asparagus was perfectly prepared and far better than what you'd get at a chain restaurant. I forgot to mention the fries with pimento cheese as an appetizer... They were the best fries I think I've ever had. For dessert, if there's something to know about Christopher, it's that his scratch-made cheesecakes are amazing. Tonight's special was key lime cheesecake. No. Regrets. If I could stick around longer; I'd like to work my way through everything on the menu. Great options for kids too! A corndog with applesauce hit the spot. If you're in the area and haven't eaten here yet, you're missing out!

I ordered the meatloaf with sweet potato wedges and Brussels sprouts. The meatloaf was a bit on the anemic side. Imagine what you might be served at an upscale French restaurant and that is about the portion of the meatloaf, roughly the size of a tennis ball. It was very moist and quite good as were the sides. The sweet potato wedges were basically sweet potato fries with the skins on and maybe six in total. Again, fewer than expected. The house salad was great. Not just romaine with carrot shavings. It had mixed greens, including spinach, carrots, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The dressings are all made in house. Our server was attentive and fantastic. Brought refills before needing them or asking. The ambiance is definitely higher class but the dress is casual. I would definitely return.

We entered through the alley (there's a sign by the fence directing you where to go). We waited in line as the lounge could only be reached by an elevator. The employee was counting those getting off the elevator to ensure capacity was not reached. We waited roughly 15-20 minutes to enter. We arrived at the top floor, stepped off the elevator, and were immediately impressed. This was unlike any spot I've seen in Huntington. It had an upscale vibe (loved the decor), but drinks were reasonable. A Corona was $4, and a specialty cocktail was $10. And we hit the jackpot as we found two seats on the patio along the outside (with a great view). My only complaint was the wait time to order a drink at the bar. We waited roughly 15-20 minutes and were standing at the bar the entire time. It may be a good idea to hire an additional bartender on the weekend. It's a great place for a date or hanging with friends. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the food menu next time!
