We were staying at the Bass Pro shop with our camper and we ordered through Yelp for delivery through DoorDash We ordered a large mushroom pizza and added sausage and roasted garlic and the pizza was absolutely delicious crust was cooked great and their sauce is really delicious. We stayed in this area several times and we will make sure to remember to get another pizza from this restaurant, super super delicious.
Found Pies & Pints while I was in town for a work trip, and I'm glad I did. With limited food options in the area, this place was a solid find. The restaurant has a hip, relaxed vibe and definitely gets busy around dinnertime. The service was good and the servers were helpful. I ended up coming back a few nights after work and ordered the same pizza each time topped with peppers, onions, and pineapple. Consistently good, fresh, and satisfying. A great spot to grab a bite after a long day.
Delicious gluten free pizza! Just passed through on our way from Indiana to OBX and always looking for places w/ gluten free options. So delicious! Great service and atmosphere as well, the downtown area is adorable as well.
Decided to stop in as it was located on my Southwest dining rewards list. Service was friendly. They have a large beer selection on draft and in bottles/cans. We got a large pizza and that was plenty for 2 people. Great spot and would recommend.
This place needs no more reviews (over 1k, what!!) but I'm here sharing anyway. It's obviously the place to be in downtown Charleston and has the best block, clearly. While the pizza was good, I think people line up just because it's the prime spot and there's a line. Surprisingly big inside, but narrow. We had a table in the back room at first and it was SO loud, like an echo chamber. There was a party of like 15 super loud people so we asked if we could wait for a table in a quieter spot. Then another table asked to move who was already eating. The second spot was great and the manager even came over to apologize. Not their fault but surely nice of them. Ordered two kid pizzas and two 10" pizzas. Pineapple kids and pesto (instead of tomato sauce) for the other kid pizza. Got the hot honey chicken and black bean for the 10" specialty pizzas. Pizza was good. Would return.
We arrived at Pies & Pints a little after 5 p.m. on a Sunday--Father's Day! Fortunately, we lucked out with street parking right across from the restaurant. We only waited about 5-7 minutes before being seated. I started with the Simple Salad, which turned out to be anything but basic. A vibrant mix of greens, red cabbage, red onions, and cherry tomatoes made for a fresh, crisp start to the meal. The house-made croutons added just the right crunch, and the vinaigrette struck a perfect balance--tangy without overpowering the vegetables. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the pizza. We ordered a 16" pie, half Pepperoni and half Mushroom & Garlic. The Pepperoni side was classic, crispy, and satisfying. But the Mushroom & Garlic side? A total game changer. Feta cheese, both roasted and fresh garlic, caramelized onions, and fresh herbs came together in a savory, flavor-packed symphony. If you're into bold, layered flavors, this one's for you. That said, the pizza wasn't without its flaws. My husband noted it lacked that signature fresh-out-of-the-oven cheese stretch--something you expect (and crave) from a piping hot pizza. We also noticed a section of the pie was missing toppings altogether, which left us wondering where all those delicious ingredients disappeared to. Consistency matters, and that part definitely missed the mark. The food hit all the right spots overall, but the service felt like it was running on "relaxed" time. It wasn't a major issue, but when you're hungry and looking forward to a hot pizza--especially with kids in tow--a quicker turnaround would've been appreciated. Despite the hiccups, Pies & Pints still delivered on flavor. I'd absolutely go back to try more of their specialty pies--especially the Chicken Gouda, with applewood smoked bacon, red onions, gouda, chipotle crema, and scallions, which is already calling my name.

We came here on a Saturday for lunch and were seated moderately fast. The server was so nice and helpful. We ordered the Cuban Pork and the Italian. The Cuban Pork wasn't my favorite and I think it's because there was so much going on and I don't really know I felt about the flavors together. The pineapple did balance with the jalapeños (sweet and spicy). The pork was good and cooked well also and tasted well alongside the feta and creme fraiche. The Italian was my favorite. The salami, pepperoni, and capicola tasted great and I loved the balance of the banana peppers against the house vinaigrette and aioli. The restaurant was busy as well but still seating so shouldn't be a long wait.
On a quiet Saturday afternoon with the snow falling thru the day its nice to have a local draft while watching the Eagles play. Didnt get a pizza just a pint but should have as the smells coming from my fellow sportfans' dishes was enticing. The service was friendly and polite. I would 100% take advantage of the city's free garage parking on the weekend and holidays to explore the places that make Charleston WV memorable.
This is my 400th review on Yelp and I wanted to celebrate this milestone writing about one of my all time favorite places. The pizza here is super legit, it will be some of the best pizza you've ever tried...if you follow one simple rule: Get a speciality pizza. If you get pepperoni, cheese, a supreme or any other boring pizza you'd find at any other pizza joint you will have missed some of the best pizza on this earth. I almost always get a large pizza, half grape gorgonzola and half steak and mushroom. Their monthly or seasonal special is usually pretty exceptional as well. I sent a friend here and he got a smoked chicken wing pizza and said it was so good he had to eat the entire pie that day. I took a bunch of anger boomers from my Harley owners group and they even loved this place despite not having a $5.99 senior special! They also have really good gluten-free pizza. We tried the Mexican Street corn on gluten-free bread and it was the best tasting gluten free pizza crust I've ever had in my life. The salads here are so big they are easy to share with 2-3 people. One of my favorite things about this place is that it started in Fayetteville, WV. I believe they've since sold out to a venture capitalist group that has been expanding them as a small chain. I lived in Ohio and I can say that the ones up there were not as good. The northern yankee customer service is far from the southern hospitality you get at the WV locations. I love that their slogan is, "Craft pizza and beer" when they sell craft beer. Pizza is definitely their craft. They also have hosted releases of rare beers which I think is really cool. Parking is on the street, you might need to walk a couple blocks. The location is small so if you come during the Friday Saturday evening rushes or lunch you might have to wait to get a spot. They are good at seating groups, sometimes you might have a couple adjacent tables but they keep you close together as best they can. The atmosphere is casual and pretty chill. Service is always good.
I really enjoyed my food from Pies and Pints. I had the Garlic Bread with Cheese, the Italian Hero sandwich and the Chocolate and Peanut Butter Terrine. I really, really enjoyed this food. I scheduled the order on DoorDash so it would be ready and delivered around the time I would get back from my internship. The food was so hot and fresh even though the Dasher had two stops before making it to mine. The sandwich was amazing with the hot peppers on it. The cheesy garlic bread has some chew to it, but the flavor was very good. The Chocolate and Peanut Butter Terrine was incredibly rich and full of texture and flavor. I would be happy to go back and try more of their food.

The pizza was meh. Crust hard as a rock, flavor not great. We used Yelp to choose this spot on or trip...apparently we don't agree with the average of the 1000 reviews. I gave 2 stars because I appreciated the attempt at different pizza combos, but my expectations fell flat with the experience.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Charleston, WV during our roadtrip and looking for dinner during the work week. I wanted to try something new and interesting and through my Yelp research I found this spot. It's located in downtown with metered street parking free Monday-Saturday nights after 6pm and all of Sunday. Luckily, we were able to find a spot easily. Inside was modern and relatively clean. We had to wait a little bit to be seated as they were pretty busy; however, this place had a decent amount of seating and space. Service was good overall, but it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked for actions such as water refills, asking for extra napkins, etc. This was partly because they were very busy that night. They have a variety of food options - apps, salads, sandwiches, pies (pizzas), and dessert. We ended up ordering a large pizza (thin crust) to split - half Thai and half Chicken Gouda. Both were yummy although the crust was a tad burnt - nothing bad to the extent that taking bites were an effort. Overall, I preferred the Thai since I've never come across a Thai style pizza and I could really taste the curry sauce. The only downside of the Thai was that the shrimp were slightly overcooked, which could be potentially explained by us ordering a pizza split in two styles with them cooking the entire pizza evenly versus what is needed for each ingredient. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us, but I could see someone having some leftovers. If possible, they might want to do some minor pest management. The entire time of our visit a fruit fly or gnat was hovering around us and the food. We tried to catch it and protect the food, only for it to ultimately take a permanent dip in my water. My overall assessment was that it was a good place to try in the city. It's not something I would crave, but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area. read more

Root beer good - from the 10 year old Pies and Pints is always a treat. Their root beer is phenomenal and homemade! My husband ordered the Thai pizza and loved It had a heat to it. I ordered the Garlic Mushroom pizza and it was great as well (it's my go to). read more

Pies & Pints was really good! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and they have a solid beer selection to pair with their food. We tried the White pizza and a daily special -- a tomato-based pie -- and both were excellent. Great flavors, quality ingredients, and an overall enjoyable dining experience. Looking for a late casual dinner on a Sunday night, not much was open so we chose Pies and Pints. Great choice. Vegan cheese option for the pizzas was a plus for me! Such a wide beer selection. The staff seemed very busy for a Sunday evening but Taylor was an awesome server!!! read more
Wow what a nice place to find in downtown Charleston! I suppose if you live here you already know about this place but I'm not from here so.... They have many many beers and ciders and ales available to try. If you aren't sure what one is like you can ask and the staff is happy to tell you about it, or if they don't know they will have find out for you. We had a Samuel Smith Organic Cider and an Organic Perry. Both were very good, the organic being darker and "chewier" but the Perry was quite light and crisp. Pizzas were all very good, and if you are at all worried after reading the description of the street corn dear not - it's pretty damn good. read more

Whoa! Good place!! Pizza? Good. Beer? Goood. Both? Goooood!! Holy smokes. I got the peppadew pizza. Great. One of my kids got the street corn pizza - something I never in my life would have ordered but holy crap it was amazing! Like, wow good! Great taste with a kick. For my lunchtime beverage I ordered the Samuel Smith organic Perry cider. Now, I'm not a big beer person so I thought I'd try this cider. Delicious! Light, refreshing, tasty. We are in town for a few days and will likely be eating here again. read more
We wanted to come here primarily because we were aware that they'd been on the food network (for the grape & Gorgonzola). In any case, I like pizza places that offer unique toppings. They also were one of the top rated pizzerias in town. We were quite happy with all the specialty (unique) pizzas, particularly the wide variety of vegetarian offerings. We tried their special of the day, heirloom tomato, and, a Mexican street corn type pizza. I thought both were excellent. They also have an extensive beer list and food options for the non-pizza eater. TV screens showing college football throughput the large dining areas. Seating outside as well. You had me at pies. Pizza pies that is. Mmmmm! I also noticed that nearly 10 years earlier my Yelpie pal Bruce K dropped by and left a great review. I almost went for the grape pizza, Bruce. Next time! Our server was excellent being well versed in the menu and corporate history. The pizza was cooked properly, ample in size, and heated up well the next day with our hotel microwave. Who doesn't love pizza for breakfast, lol?!? While we didn't order much, we would visit again if ever back in Charleston, WVA. Has the dough rising on my "Give 'em a whirl" meter. Any time we are traveling we like to try restaurants along the way. We enjoyed pies & pints. They had great beer choices and delicious hot pizza. The only tricky part was parking. Service was quick. We enjoyed a Greek salad and a lItalian pizza. Three of us shared and we still had leftovers. A previous review mentioned "to-go" style service. That was not our experience. We had table service with real plates and utensils. We also did not have a thick crust pizza. read more
We came here per the reviews on here. I also researched the best places in West Virginia to eat this place came up. We walked in and there was an hour wait. So we went to the Taylor book store. Please see their review. When we came back, we sat down next to the oven. Our waitress took a bit to come over as the place was still slammed. She then brought our waters and we got the wings. We then asked her preference on pizzas and then went 50/50 with the margarita pizza and peppadew pizza. The wings were delicious. Expensive though for 8 wings was 14 bucks. The Gorgonzola dipping sauce was great. We then got our pizza. The margarita came out soft on the bottom and the peppadew came out alright. The waitress however, seeing how we weren't happy offered to get us an entire small pizza of the margarita to make up for the soft portion. The second time it came out right. First time customers. We were in town for an evening before heading to Summit Bechtel and our scouting high adventure trip. It was a super busy weekend but considering we had nine people to seat we were impressed how quickly we were seated (under an hour). Grace was our server and was absolutely wonderful!! Pleasant and super attentive to our table checking on us frequently on a very busy night. Jessica the manager was also super helpful with our table and many others. Onto the food. Salad with gorgonzola. Amazing. Got a couple orders of garlic bread. One with cheese and one without. For pizzas we split two large. So essentially four pizzas we could all mow down. The sauce is unique and really good. Crust was amazing. It's a small and unique place in ways but the staff are amazing and the restaurant itself is neat and well kept. We really enjoyed everything and everyone. Do yourself a favor and get in here!!!!! read more
