Pan Seared Fresh Mozzarella
Eion P.

Nestled on top of the beautiful Bridge Road, "Lola's" is one of my favorite places in Charleston. The interior is very homey and cozy, with lots of natural light and views of the surrounding forestry. The food is Italian-American fare, but on the lighter side, including fresh salads and homemade oven-fired pizzas. We shared the pan-seared mozzarella, which came with fresh tomato sauce, and it was fantastic--we also split the fig and rosemary pizza, which was good too. Service was friendly and quick. 5/5

Lola's is great little pizza shop tucked away on Oakwood road neatened between the windy roads. Somehow there is ample parking and seating as well as a courtyard style seating area in the front. The pizza is next level here! Gourmet, Artisan, wood fired is the best way to describe it. Interesting toppings that create a melody of flavors and satisfying experience. The crust is light and pizzas are creative. This is sure to satisfy everyone from vegans to carnivores and everything in between. They also have some tasty salads and the sangria here is special. Don't miss Lola's if you're near Charleston!

Roasted Sweet Potato salad

A charming little restaurant where I sat beneath a skylight (or skyrain when I visited). The menu offers a good variety of pizza toppings and salads. The sweet potato salad I ordered came almost immediately (which is good because the pizza took a while). It had a ton of sweet potato and feta; rarely have I eaten a salad that I wished had more lettuce in it, but since I was hungry, I could work with this. Similarly, my pizza was overwhelmingly cheesy. You're not getting cheated on portion size here; the only reason I ate it all is because I came hungry. The parking situation is a little dubious. It's on a hilly street and you might have to wander around looking for a space. Their online menu was not up to date and frankly I liked my options in person less, but it was still a nice place to eat dinner.

Delicious pizza! Especially the fig jam and rosemary pizza. The restaurant is like an old house with seating in various rooms.

Roasted Sweet Potato Salad

Every time I am in Charleston, WV for work, Lola's is a MUST!! I dream about the sweet potato salad! It has the perfect mix of sweet & savory. As of late, I have been changing out the feta for goat cheese and it makes the salad that much better (if that is even possible). I have been there a handful of times and it's hard for me not to get what I love - this salad and the Spicy Shrimp & Sausage pizza (Surprise, surprise ... it also has goat cheese!) The waiters & waitress have always been delightful and helpful. The seating is a little stuffy, but with food like that, no one minds. Plus, during the warmer months there is ALOT of outside sitting area. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

Situated on a curvy road in a little cottage style home is a fabulous little pizza eatery . Loud but lively, this place is just the cutest. Nice outdoor patio and plenty of inside seating. Parking is limited but you can use lot across the street. Very flavorful menu. We had the bacon and white cheddar pizza and it was spot on! Delicious. I also had the roasted beet salad and it was phenomenal. Service was fast and friendly. This little gem was a great find

The service was amazing! My husband and I came here for my birthday and we ordered a large pizza and split the flavors! The waitress was so kind as well and everything was delicious! I will be coming back!

Large building your own (Top) Small Steak & Cheese (Bottom) Cool plates too!

The Spicy Shrimp Sausage Pizza , a mixed greens salad and BLT salad were all delicious. What a great place to have a nice casual dinner.

If you need to sit somewhere and be ignored for 20-30 minutes, this is your place. Get more attention in the park.

The bar staff was outstanding from start to finish. We had a few different bartenders taking care of us, and each one was attentive, friendly, and great at helping with recommendations. We ordered the New York steak and the Brussels sprouts special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the Brussels sprouts hit that ideal balance--crispy, flavorful, and just right. Everything we had was packed with flavor. The drinks didn't miss either--ice-cold beer and expertly crafted cocktails all around. If you find yourself in Charleston, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine. But the experience was not worth my money, not even if it was half the cost honestly.

The building (though Vintage) was Open, Bright and Airy! A major plus to this Seasonal Depression Sufferer! We went to the bar to place our order! We opted for the Knotty Boy Garlic Knots for $10 & the Fully Loaded Detroit Style Pizza for $15I had a bottle of water and though he was very disappointed that it was ONLY their WV Craft Beer served, he went with what the bartender recommended (closest to a PBR & Budweiser that they offered ) for $5.50, total with taxes & Tip was $42. We were surprised that the food was out in like 15 minutes. We fully expected to wait since Detroit Deep Dish normally takes 30 minutes to 45 minutes to cook fully. This led us to believe it was PAR BAKED for faster Customer Service which to many is NOT A PLUS! The Garlic Knots were very doughy and extremely dense in texture. Not a fan! The service was fast and friendly but for the atmosphere, price and the fact they are trying to be trendy, the paper plates & plastic cutlery was a BIG NEGATIVE!! I know myself even if Melanac Hard Plastic for plates is okay, but I want true Silverware!! The sauce has a really Great flavor and the cheese pull was very nice on the pizza. The sauce served on top, a big big plus!! I live in Ripley, WV and drove 35 minutes one way to enjoy this meal, but the question is...would I do it again?? Probably NOT! I give them a 5 out of 5 on atmosphere and ambience they nailed that! I give them a 4 out 5 on Customer Service because the food came too fast!! I give them a 3 out 5 for the food, the sauce was perfect but everything else about taste and flavor was a hit and miss. The score might have been higher if I had left off the Knotty Boy Garlic Knots!! The beer though I tasted it wasnt bad but Im not a beer drinker, my hubby was very disappointed so thats 2 out of 5 stars and the tableware scores a zero!! I wasn't on a picnic and the paper and plastic screams picnic or lazy kitchen staff to me!! So, would I recommend? I must say overall, 3 stars out of 5 stars! They are big and I wanted one but not enough room in the stomach for something this big so I opted for a small container of Egg Salad with 2 slices of Wheat bread cut in half in the container neatly packaged and sealed for $4.99 with todays day. The employee said everything made daily and fresh.. I also purchased some fresh produce some Cotton Candy Grapes about 1lb of those delicious little green globes. Total was $10.49 with taxes. The reason I am giving it a lower mark in the star scale is that within 2 hrs of eating the fresh Egg Salad I was so sick and I had to cancel my afternoon apt and visit the doctor. Needless to say, I will not order that again!! But I will definitely go back for some fresh fruit and veggies. I liked the location and I am not going to let one bad Egg Salad Sandwich stop me!!
