    Chips && salsa

    This restaurant is in the lobby of the Marriott. We were stopping in West Virginia and staying at the hotel and decided to eat in. The seating options were limited for standard tables verses lounge seating and bar tops; however, the staff was friendly and prompt in helping us. My rating isn't low due to the food being bad, it was not bad by any means. I just cannot give this place a 4 based on restaurants I typically enjoy. The food was hot when delivered, everything was cooked well, and everything was edible. To be specific; the salad had too much dressing, the quesadilla lacked a sauce or seasoning, and the chips and salsa did not taste fresh. I will say the buffalo wings were good and the skin was crispy. Overall a decent place and convenient.

    Stayed at the hotel where this restaurant is located, so this was an obvious choice after a long day on the road. Dinner is served until 11pm. I ordered the new york strip steak, caesar salad, and chicken pot pie. The service was good and the food was definitely above average for a hotel restaurant. Most of the other eateries in town close very early, so tI recommend this place if you get into town late.

    Almost un-eat-able short rib. Super tough, must have been under a lamp light for hours.

    Had the short rib and the crab poppers. Crab was ok. Everything came out very quickly. Short rib is so tough I could not eat it. This place does not deserve 3 stars let alone 4. Bartender was nice enough but this is not Applebee's pricing

    The best steak I have ever eaten. I almost went to the kitchen to ask the Chef how it was prepared - I enjoyed it that much!

    Without a doubt, the best steak I have ever eaten. I almost went to the kitchen to ask the Chef how it was prepared - I enjoyed it that much!

    Only there briefly for a happy hour but the decor looked great and the service was very good. Don't make it to the Marriott often but it's worth keeping this bar in mind.

    Excellent service and food. The cheese burgers are great. Clean modern feel. Also a nice bar.

    Good spot for dinner before a Charleston WV civic center show. The food is well above hotel restaurant food.

The wait can be 20-30 minutes during prime dinner hours, and the food wait can also be lengthy. Plan on enjoying a few hours here and don't be in a rush once you get here. Let's talk about the food. They have gluten free options and anything can be made gluten free according to the staff. They also have some vegetarian options. I love burgers, and honestly, it's hard to beat a handmade beyond smashburger. This restaurant currently does not offer another veggie substitute other than the Portobello mushroom. It was good, with the added goat cheese, but would have rather had a burger substitute with mushrooms added on top. The fries are great! Perfectly fried with golden crunch in every bite. The garlic aioli is the perfect dipping sauce. I ordered a ranch side as well and it's good, but the aioli is the best choice in my opinion. Great local restaurant with a burger for everyone.

But Amy was very good with answering our questions and giving her opinions on various dishes, as well as her interactions with Oliver We started with some wings with house hot sauce and an order of cheddar and candied jalapeño fries. Both were very good, the candied jalapeños had a nice heat but were not rude. I had a Cubano sammich, as you know I am a sucker for these and once again - no plancha!! This one wasn't even squished in a George Foreman grill. Just served on a (good and tasty and crunchy) bread. Oliver had a cheeseburger and fries, and the table order was rounded out with a braised beef sandwich. That was declared by Amy as the number 1 sandwich at the place. Oh jeez I almost forgot - they've got several beers and Amy was again a font of knowledge asking us what kinds of beers we liked and helping craft suggestions based upon what we liked.

I wanted to try something new and interesting and through my Yelp research I found this spot. It's located in downtown with metered street parking free Monday-Saturday nights after 6pm and all of Sunday. Luckily, we were able to find a spot easily. Inside was modern and relatively clean. We had to wait a little bit to be seated as they were pretty busy; however, this place had a decent amount of seating and space. Service was good overall, but it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked for actions such as water refills, asking for extra napkins, etc. This was partly because they were very busy that night. They have a variety of food options - apps, salads, sandwiches, pies (pizzas), and dessert. We ended up ordering a large pizza (thin crust) to split - half Thai and half Chicken Gouda. Both were yummy although the crust was a tad burnt - nothing bad to the extent that taking bites were an effort. Overall, I preferred the Thai since I've never come across a Thai style pizza and I could really taste the curry sauce. The only downside of the Thai was that the shrimp were slightly overcooked, which could be potentially explained by us ordering a pizza split in two styles with them cooking the entire pizza evenly versus what is needed for each ingredient. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us, but I could see someone having some leftovers. If possible, they might want to do some minor pest management. The entire time of our visit a fruit fly or gnat was hovering around us and the food. We tried to catch it and protect the food, only for it to ultimately take a permanent dip in my water. My overall assessment was that it was a good place to try in the city. It's not something I would crave, but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area.
