We did not wait long, food was delicious, table in corner was a little cool as AC was blowing on us. But, everyone was attentive, menu was unique, and food was good, I ordered the chicken sausage, thin and delicious with blueberry pancake, eggs med., in which whites were still runny. We came first breakfast but by the time we fout out it was practically lunch time but that's our fault - it's got one hell of a breakfast menu, plus some specials, and it makes for quite a decision process to land on what you ultimately desire to eat! Our waitress was friendly and patient with us as we took a long time to figure out what we wanted and had many questions. We started with gingerbread spice donut holes (13 to an order!!) which come with caramel and crème fraîche dipping sauces. Very good!! I liked the crème fraîche best. All the food was good, pancakes are huge. My wife's gravy is better than the gravy here -HOWEVER- she makes it exactly as we like it to include a lot of spice and freshly ground black pepper so we often find gravy out to be perfectly adequate but nothing earth shattering. I was in the area for a wedding and needed a good breakfast. I came on the weekend and they have parking across the street for all patrons eating at the restaurant which is amazing. They don't have a waitlist which is pretty inconvenient for the number of people they seem to service in the morning. Thankfully I was in pretty early for I only had to wait about 25 minutes. We were seated at a very small table and it's very cramped inside. They pack people in there like sardines. I ordered the Farmhouse Hash with over easy eggs and a biscuit. Before heading off to the Criel Mound in South Charleston we stopped in to First Watch for breakfast. First of all parking is hard to find nearby, don't park out in front, it's a tow away zone. Park in the ramp which is attached where there are meters inside the ramp. We loved the look & feel of the space, so contemporary & stylish. We ordered the Ham & Gruyere melt & the AM Superfood Bowl ( Chia seed pudding with berries & almonds with almond butter toast ) & a side of Million dollar Bacon. Everything was absolutely fantastic, so good in fact we both rate this meal as possibly the best breakfast we have ever had! The million dollar bacon isn't cheap ( $ 5 49 ) but it's a must try! I have never had eggs, Benedict on ciabatta, but it was wonderful! Staff was very friendly and attentive. They even asked if I wanted a large print menu, seeing that, I carried a white cane, and had them a new close to my face. This is a rarity among restaurants, but shouldn't be! We waited probably 30 min for a table for two, but we had drinks within two minutes of sitting, ordered less than five minutes later, and had food around 15 minutes later. Food was really good, we got food from the seasonal specials and were not disappointed. I had a breakfast sandwich and my partner had a breakfast hash. Price was very fair for the quality and quantity imo. Our server and every other staff member was incredibly kind and helpful to us. The grits were a little lackluster but that's not enough to kill the hype I felt for this place. The service was excellent despite it being virtually standing room only. This place was packed to the nines and I still managed to get seated. Even though it has been a few months since my visit, I enjoyed my short walk in the now to First Watch. The greeting, service, coffee, and food were amazing. Sometimes when the menu is daunting, it is worthy to just have the team surprise you with your selection. I couldn't decide what to get, so I let them surprise me. Our server Nate, was amazing, attentive yet not bothersome. Their coffee was excellent, I bought a bag of whole beans so I could grind it up for my morning coffee at home. And their juice, despite being all natural was extremely good, I recommend the pomegranate one. Juices that are labeled "all natural" usually means nasty and expensive, not the case here. There are two negatives in my opinion, but they're pretty typical for places that are high quality, they're a little pricey, around $50 for two people, and the wait has always been long on the weekends..unless you go early. We like to get there around 8:30am on Sunday, that seems to be the best time, though admittedly we haven't tried getting there in the afternoon, so you may get lucky and you can not make reservations, which sucks but what are you going to do? They are always so packed there, but you can snag a spot at the bar if you are solo or just a group of 2. I recommend doing this route on a Saturday or Sunday! Their menu is large and extensive so there is something for everyone, and I love to try their specials with rotate seasonally. They have quick service to turn around customers, but if you don't sit at the bar put your name down and take a stroll to the local stores one block over while you wait. First Watch likes to offer healthy options, but I must bow my head a bit and profess that I like the less than super healthy options. The benedicts are pretty cool and the omelets are definitely a good choice, as well. If you are seeking a more healthy option, the avocado toast is a pretty good option.
