Decided to try it out while driving through Charleston and wow this is some of the best pizza I have every had! Great atmosphere and service too. read more

This place was awesome from the little suburban area that it was tucked in to the tasty food and chill atmosphere! There was seating outside that was pretty full when we got there, so we sat inside. The waiters and waitresses were super helpful with ordering and our "we're new here" vibe. I loved the simple plates and cups and the way that our waitress took care of us without hovering around. It let us enjoy our meal and taking in the place. My husband loved his bottle of root beer. The salad was so good, but the pizza was amazing! Had we not been sharing a pizza with our five year old, we would have ordered one of the scrumptious sounding specialty pizzas. We were going to get ice cream at Ellen's afterwards, but found that they serve her ice cream there (a bonus, for sure!). read more

Lola's - Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad - Pizza Near Me - Charleston, West Virginia

Pizza is excellent, service was great. Unfortunately, parking is not available for the number of people that can be seated.

The food is very good here. When you walk in just know you need to find your own place to sit. It's a comfortable, friendly space in an old house. Could not have more charm. The neighborhood is so cute too. If in Charleston this is worth the drive in to the South Hills neighborhood. read more

Great little pizza place! Stop there each year on our way to the coast. Unique pizza combinations. Nice drink selection.

Driving through town, hungry and tired. Stopped here because it looked interesting and had what everyone in the family likes...Pizza. From the moment we stepped in we felt like family. Service was impeccable! Can't wait to pass through again, I will be stopping here. read more

We came across Lola's via Yelp on a cross country trip from Seattle to Richmond, VA. I'm from the South and man you don't know what you miss until you come back. It's the attention to detail.. the effortless kindness.. and of course the delicious food. We ordered two of their signature cocktails and they were good and tasty. The pizza was delicious. But what I'll remember the most is the service from Caz. Just met her tonight but if we come through this way on our journey back home.. she'd be the reason. Thanks for your hospitality. read more

Such a great spot in Charleston! The pizza and salads are SO good. I much prefer Lola's to Pies & Pints. RIP to the meatball ricotta, which was my favorite and has apparently succumbed to covid supply chain issues. But honestly, anything here is good. The sangria is a must! I will say parking can be quite difficult, especially during the day, but you can park off the road over the hill and walk up. If you have to eat inside there's also not a lot of space, but the new(ish) outdoor area is great! Service can sometimes be slow. read more

Wonderful food and great staff! Visited here several years ago and remember it being very good but brought someone I was visiting town with, and we both absolutely loved it! Great menu, delicious pizzas, and a meatballs were fantastic. Bartender was also phenomenal with help picking beers, and just an overall lovely woman. Must check it out! read more

At one time, I loved Lola's. But the last two times I've been there, I realized I would have been more satisfied with a pizza from a chain pizza place. The pizza at Lola's...no matter what I get...is just DRY. I don't like pizza sopping with sauce, but I want something more than bread with cheese and a couple of "fancy" ingredients on it. I feel like once Lola's established themselves as a "cool" place to go and as a pizza place with something out of the ordinary pizza, they cut back on their effort to be unique and good. read more

Very pleasantly surprised with the quality of these pizzas! My friends and I tried out 3 different pizzas - fig & rosemary, sausage & onion, and spinach & feta. If you get a large pizza size, then you can split it to have 2 different specialty pizzas. My favorite was the fig & rosemary. I was not expecting this combination to work so perfectly. The fig and the rosemary complement the other without being too herby or sweet. I've never had this topping combo before, and I don't plan for it to be my last time! My 2nd favorite was sausage & onion. It's not like the sausage and onion you get from deliveries. Delicious! The 3 of us were happy and full with 2 large pizzas. All the pizzas taste authentic and makes you feel like so much thought and care were put in. The workers (and owner?) makes an effort to greet you and get to know so many of the customers. Can't wait to revisit! read more

Pizza was okay. Service was poor. Probably won't return. Not worth the money. Not much parking.

This is such a cute date night place The pizza is delicious. The salads are fresh and so yummy. Not to mention the best flourless chocolate cake read more

The only thing bad about Lola's is that it is out of the way. The pizzas are excellent and the staff is friendly. Try even put up with the little girls in our dining party. Give Lola's a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

A quaint little pizza joint that serves a variety of pizza and salads in a comfortable cottage setting! Driving up the mountain from downtown Charleston, in a residential neighborhood among the greenery lies Lola's. The parking lot is really small and accommodates only 3-5 cars, and walking up to Lola's there is a small patio with hipster lights and a dining area inside. I ordered lunch here with a friend: we shared a beet salad and a spinach pizza. The salad had walnuts, beets, and a very delicious vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was some of the best I've tasted, and my friend dipped her crust in the vinaigrette which served as the perfect complement to the pizza. I'm not a huge fan of feta but the pizza was still pretty good, not too heavy. If you're looking to dine on a nice patio and split a pizza and salad, Lola's in Charleston is a great environment to have a satisfying lunch! read more

We decided to come here to celebrate our Birthdays. There were 5 of us. We ordered 3 fried mozzarella appetizers. One of our 3 appetizers was cold, but they were really good. We had to ask 3 times for more water just while eating our appetizers. We ordered the Meatball, Steak & Cheese, and the Spinach Pizza. They were really good. My stepson had to ask twice for ranch, and again we had to ask more than twice for more water. Food was wonderful, service was TERRIBLE!! She never came back to get our check, good thing we didn't need change, but I felt uncomfortable leaving the much cash on the table, so I handed it to the first waiter I saw as we walked out the doo read more

Super good pizza! The staff were nice and the setting is one of the best parts! Super cute environment.

Very good pizza. I had the meatball pizza and added fresh mozzarella and roasted sweet potato salad. Very nice staff. Atmosphere was good. Probably more family oriented than Pies and Pints. I came around 4 pm and it quickly got busy. Parking was OK but there's not a lot of it. read more

Phone did not eat first. I got zero pictures, and I regret it. This pizza joint has a home-y, familiar, cozy vibe and I was all about it after driving up a windy mountain road to get there. I don't have pictures as proof so I'll keep this one short. Two reasons you should go if vibe isn't your thing - the thin, crispy crust and the ranch. Yep. Those are my things. We got multiple large pizzas, one was a Bacon Gouda? and whatever had pineapple on it because I'm about that kind of stuff on my pizza. If I lived here it would probably be my go-to day-date spot. read more

The pizza was amazing with extremely fresh ingredients. The service was very friendly and fast. The restaurant looked clean and the decor was nice. I would highly recommend the food. read more

The management seems to not give much care to patrons. We drove an hour to visit, and before we left to head there, we called to ask if they still accommodated dairy allergies. We messaged the social media to ask. No one answered. We called 3 times. No one answered. That was fine, as the last time my friends came, they let them bring new, seal imitation cheese to use, so we made the hour trip. My friends have recommended this spot to many people for years. The server took the order, after about an hour wait, which was fine, and she took the new and unopened substitute cheese without issue with our order to use. So we are now two hour invested in this dinner. We'd already ordered a bottle of wine and three salads. The server came back, and she was nice and it was out of her control, but she said the manager won't allow us to use this product. The manager came out, and it didn't matter that they previously allowed this, that we tried to call many times to confirm or that we drove an hour to eat and now needed to drive an hour home to get dinner. The salad was good. The server apologized many times. The manager clearly doesn't care about patrons or the business. The friends I came with own multiple bars and have owned restaurants in WV and Miami. They were shocked by the poor service. I was, as well. read more

Great local alternative to Pie's and Pints...which is also somewhat local. My wife and I went here on date night after getting completely screwed by Vandala's. It was a toss up between those two and I'm glad it turned out the way it did because Lola's was great! Unlike Pie's and Pints the pizza's are a bit small and you can't really split the specialty pizza's so we both got a pizza. Pricing was great and they had a great selection of brews. At the servers recommendation I tried something from Rogue which was right on the money. The place has a definite hipster vibe to it, including the servers look, so feel free to wear whatever you like, even gym shorts on a Friday night. I had the Pesto Portobello and my wife had the Hawaiian Pizza. Both were good, service was awesome. The only complain I could have is it's a bit small and there can be a wait, and the parking lot was so crowded people were parking in places that weren't spots making it hard for us to get our mini van out...next time I'll back in. read more

Paul and I had lunch at Lola's yesterday while passing through Charleston on our way back to Cincinnati. We arrived shortly after opening and were the only ones there for awhile. The two young women who were running the place were friendly. We were asking about the Charleston area and they were happy to tell us about it. I ordered the goat cheese salad, and Paul and I split the ham & pineapple pizza. The salad was amazing. The folks at Lola's know how to make a balsamic vinaigrette, and the fried goat cheese--wow! I loved the addition of Gorgonzola on the pizza, but I wish there had been more of it. Fresh pineapple, rather than canned, would elevate that pizza. The crust was very good (almost as good as Dewey's in Cincinnati). The skylight, the splashes of bright colors, and the fun contemporary local art definitely add to the appeal. Seating could be improved by getting rid of the uncomfortable metal chairs and replacing them with something else. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 thanks to friendly staff and great salad. read more

One of the best pizzas I've ever had. The salads are incredible. And the mozzarella appetizer is mouthwatering.

If you're in a hurry, I'll cut to the chase. Best pizza I've had in a long time. For real. Not an exaggeration. Spicy shrimp is on point, as well as Monroe County beef. If it's busy, just wait and suck it up. Good places are busy. For those who have a couple of minutes... We stopped in Charleston for the evening as part of a longer trip headed south. Googled 'best restaurants in Charleston' and Lola's came up as one of the top ten and it was 5 min from our hotel. Very quaint little house re-purposed into a restaurant, nice patio with a great atmosphere, seemed good so far. Excellent bottled and draft beers, good wine selection, and a great looking menu. Locally sourced items are indicated at the bottom of the menu, which I appreciate. I ordered a hazy IPA on tap, my wife got Freakshow Cabernet, both good choices for a warm, late afternoon and some pizza. We got a goat cheese fried and split a Fried green tomato salad special. The tomatoes were lightly breaded, very well executed, flavorful. The goat cheese was masterfully breaded and fried. The salad itself was the only part I didn't love, kinda dull, just lettuce and ranch, but I'm not totally sure if it was only supposed to be garnish and I'm just a hungry idiot. The tomatoes and goat cheese were the star of the dish anyway, so who cares. We ordered a large split in half, one half Spicy Shrimp and Sausage and Monroe county beef. Diameter was probably 16" or so, plenty of food for 2-3 hungry folks. The crust... probably one of the best I've ever eaten. No joke, I'm more of a toppings person, but this crust is phenomenal. The manager came out and mentioned that the area has hard water, similar to New York, and that has a lot to do with why the crust so good. Makes sense. Toppings on this pie were just enough to make every slice really tasty. Staff is very friendly too, we enjoyed talking pizza with everyone. 5/5 Excellent friggin pizza. Highly recommend. Thanks guys. read more

Lola's - Pizza Near Me - Charleston, West Virginia

Came in for Friday night dinner with the boyfriend. . The restaurant wasn't crowded but parking capacity was limited as we had to park up the street and walk down, which I didn't mind since it was a nice night out. Approaching the restaurant, I felt we were walking towards a little gift shop, it's small but cozy on the inside with an intimate atmosphere with outdoor seating available as well. We started with the Pan-seared Mozzarella accompanied with glasses of wine as we waited on our pizza which made a perfect start. I'm not a big wine drinker, but when I do it's usually Moscato, which they didn't have. I had the Kiona Riesling, which had just the right amount of sweetness and thought it enjoyable, and also a San Pellegrino Aranciata Orange, a non-alcoholic drink our waiter had me try, and I really enjoyed - a classy bubbly orange drink :) The main course was a large pizza split half Spinach & Feta, half Spicy Shrimp & Sausage - their two top specialty pizzas, and both were good but Spinach Feta was best. The pizza crusts were thin, almost like thin crust pizza, but with actual crusts on the edges. Next time, I'd like to try a different specialty in place of the spicy shrimp pizza. As for dessert, I finished up with Pistachio ice cream, while the boyfriend put away a Creme Brulee. I've never been a fan of Creme Brulee but they make the best I've ever seen/tasted and the bf couldn't stop raving. **FYI**Currently, they DO NOT serve lunch, but our server says they will be opening during lunch hours soon. read more

Delicious gourmet pizzas as well as other fare such as salads, and along with Pies and Pints, easily has some of the best pizza around. Charming white house, great service, and several local brews, sangria round out the experience. Excellent, and highly recommended. read more

This review is based on several visits over a period of about two years. When we stay overnight in Charleston this is our favorite spot for dinner. The pizza is great -- very creative and lots of variety/options. Thin crust. They do it well. The beer list is quite decent and the prices are fair. The wine list is OK, but the prices are high, I think. (Go for the beer!) The interior is, well, different. "Hipster," I guess. And, lots of tatoos walking about. They do a good job here -- and we'll be back! My rating is a "strong 4!" read more
