Chris did a superb job on a full remodel four our sixty-year-old-house. We put in-an- in-ground pool, full kitchen remodel, took down some walls, added a half-bath (including a new door from the new half-bath to the backyard), remodeled both our bathrooms, moved the door to our garage from one side of the house to the other, put in new flooring throughout, replaced all our windows, redid the front and back stucco of our outside, put in new outside light fixtures, put in new garden irrigation to stop our backyard from flooding during rain-storms, and laid concrete for our driveway, side patio, back patio, and steps out to our pool. During this entire process Chris (and his workers) were exemplary. He knows Davis regulations and building codes like the back of his hand, clearly presents his prices, and helped us navigate many tricky issues. For example, upon doing our electrical work it was discovered that almost none of our outlets were grounded, presenting a major fire-hazard. Chris worked with us to replace these at a minimal charge. He also took our many questions in stride and was on-site himself almost every day. We are so happy we went with Chris. I would strongly recommend him whether you are planning a large job like ours or a simple remodel (i.e. only a kitchen or only a bathroom, etc.). read more

We recently had some kitchen work done and needed the ceiling dropped, new lighting installed and changes made to open a load bearing wall. Completed on time as promised - very professional. They did a great job - I would use them again read more

After interviewing 5 different contractors about remodeling our kitchen, a bathroom, and the floors, we decided to go with Christopher Crawford Construction. We are so happy we did. He and his crew were detail-oriented, communicative, and delivered quality work within our timeframe. One sticking point was that we were unable to find kitchen cabinets we liked that would be manufactured and delivered in time. Chris found a custom cabinet maker who built us gorgeous, book-matched euro cabinets in walnut veneer and they are more beautiful than we could have imagined. (See pics for before and after.) Renovation is all about details. From the retexturing of the walls to tile layout--we selected handmade tiles and epoxy grout, both of which require expertise to install properly--Chris and his crew's attention to detail was consistent. They also took our feedback into consideration and make small tweaks as needed. We passed inspection without any difficulty and we are incredibly happy with the outcome. Thanks Chris! read more

I needed to remodel a townhouse in Davis that hadn't been updated in almost 50 years. Chris walked through it with me and pointed out hazards (old electrical panel, bathroom floor rot) and out of code items (lighting), and offered ideas for improvement. He was helpful in suggesting sources for items like cabinets, stone, flooring and tile, which made product selections simple. Chris and his crew redid the entire kitchen and bathroom, installed new flooring throughout, as well as new windows, new front door, light fixtures and fresh paint. He also dealt with existing damage from a leak that had caused a rotting floor and mold. The results are beautiful. Chris was very easy to work with and very responsive. My challenge was that I live over an hour away from Davis and was not able to monitor the job closely. This was not a problem at all - I have full trust in Chris and his work. I highly recommend Chris and would not hesitate to contact him in the future about any projects. read more

After a long and stressful experience with my insurance company following a flood in my kitchen, I found Chris. Chris was timely in correspondence, very experienced, and professional. He quickly developed a budget for a complete kitchen remodel (which included modifications to the floor plan/layout and raising the ceiling), new paint and flooring throughout the house, and new bathroom vanities and mirrors. I was dealing with budget restrictions as this was an unexpected renovation and Chris was great in developing options for me to choose from. He even did amazing electrical work like hardwiring my dinning room light, installing can lights in the kitchen, replacing bathroom lights, and finishing outdoor patio electrical work. All of his subcontractors were very professional and super kind. My project was completed with high quality and on time. I highly recommend Chris for any project and am looking forward to my next project with him! read more

We are very happy with our kitchen and bath remodel. Chris worked with us each step of the way, including our design changes midway, and responded quickly to questions and requests. Before = cramped: peninsula counter, hanging cabinets that blocked view of dining area, small door and wall in entryway. After = open: entryway feels spacious with widened doorway and wall cut out, island great for food prep and socializing, easy movement throughout kitchen and dining areas. read more

Chris's team did great work! We had a significant hole in the wall in our upstairs master bedroom closet. Chris and his team did a great job repairing the hole and painting the entire closet. Chris's prices are competitive with others. We have used Chris in the past and will use him again in the future for our construction needs. read more

*Carly & Michael* We have been working with Chris for the past several months on a complete home remodel. The main renovated areas included the kitchen and master bedroom/bathroom, but we also completely re-painted and carpeted the remainder of our four bedroom home. This was quite the project considering the home we recently bought had minimal renovations done since it was originally built in the 1960's. As another added complexity of this job, the designer of the home was from another state which required Chris to be in very close communication to ensure they stayed aligned on the details of the project. Chris did an absolutely amazing job on the house and we could not be more happier with our home. The craftmanship and quality of the work more than exceeded our expectations. Chris takes a lot of pride in his work and his meticulous attention to detail definitely showed in the final product. He also provided useful advice and insight throughout the stages of the project which helped us a lot to make key decisions. Not only was his work top quality, but he and his crew were extremely hard working and responsive. They worked over multiple weekends and holidays (including Christmas time) to ensure the project got completed on time. Chris was also extremely responsive throughout the entire project and even today still answers our questions. He also went above and beyond to help us with smaller tasks such as transporting large items with his trailer from our old residence back into our home as a courtesy. He was extremely easy to work with, responsive, hard-working and receptive to feedback. I would recommend him to anyone in the area looking for a top quality remodel. Thanks Chris for being awesome it was a pleasure working with you and we love our "new" home! **Photos to come** read more

We were lucky to find Chris after previously trying to work with multiple contractors who either said that our kitchen remodel project could not be done (as we envisioned it), it needed it to be a complete renovation, or it took FOREVER (months) for the contractor to get back with us. Chris responded the day after we initially contacted him, prepared an itemized bid within a week and launched the job shortly after that. All questions and concerns that surfaced along the way were quickly and positively resolved. The end result was a professionally completed project that exceeded our expectations!! We would absolutely recommend Chris Crawford to anyone with a construction or remodel project that needs to be done. read more

Chris is a great general contractor and only uses the best sub-contractors. He is very good at communication and always answers his phone. We were given his name by a realtor friend to do a small remodel job in our kitchen, involving re-placing our kitchen countertops, installing a new sink and faucet. He had good suggestions for materials and did some very complete estimates, which made our decision on choosing products easy. He completed the work on time and was considerate of our needs while doing the work. We are extremely happy with the finished project and would have them again for sure. read more

Chris is the go to contractor for Cabinets to Go for a reason! He's thorough (measured my kitchen twice, just to be sure) prompt, and easy to communicate with. Even when he wasn't on site, the contractors he works with were on time, friendly and a joy to have in my home. He would call in to let me know what was happening for the day, making me feel at ease throughout the process. To redo the kitchen in my condominium took about 7 working days over three weeks and I could not be happier with the work Chris and his crew performed. Thank you Chris! read more

We hired Chris to remodel our kitchen/dining room and laundry room in our 1990's Davis house. There were some challenges with the old layout of the kitchen not taking advantage of the space and the finishes were really outdated. Chris came up with a fantastic new plan for organizing the kitchen. He also helped us through all the stages of planning, from design to choosing finishes to installation exactly on time and on budget. His workers and subcontractors are for the most part tremendous: helpful, careful, knowledgeable, eager to please. I trusted Chris and his team with a large project completed over the summer while we were living elsewhere, and I was not disappointed in any respect. He has the highest standards and the highest integrity. Plus he is a super nice guy who is always available--just text him and he gets back to you in minutes. I have never had such a great experience with a contractor (and I've done a LOT of remodeling). Highest possible recommendation. read more

Chris is awesome! While being reasonably priced I found his meticulous attention to detail unmatched. He is truly the elite in his field of work. His willingness to take extra steps during the installation of our new kitchen cabinets made for a superb final product. Chris and his helper are courteous and polite. They showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. When building custom bases for our cabinets he went so far as to build wooden gussets into the corners for added strength and rigidity. I put Chris at the top of my list. read more

We hired Chris for our kitchen remodel. We have gutted and remodeled two homes and have worked with more than a dozen contractors and sub-contractors, so I can say with some authority that Chris is top of his class. His crew's work is beautiful and has lasting quality. They clearly takes pride in their work. Chris is easy to talk to, honest and straightforward. He responds quickly by email, phone or text. He and his crew are very professional. They cleaned up at the end of each day, so you hardly knew it was a construction site! If we do another remodel, we will definitely hire Chris again. I wish I had gotten to know him sooner - he could have saved us a lot of time and money wasted on unqualified and uncaring contractors. read more

They need to be more responsible in terms of containing and transporting debris and waste. We just traveled behind one of thier truck and trailers for several miles and the whole time they were losing fiberglass insulation all over the place. We tried to catch up to and let them know but because they were driving well over the speed limit we couldn't catch up to them and let them know that they were littering for through Oakland and Alameda. The trailer was also lacking a license plate. Not very responsible! read more

Chris is a professional contractor that we hired for a medium kitchen remodel. Everything went smoothly, and he was flexible in adding some additional items to the bid as they came up. Fair, reasonable, reliable and made our kitchen look awesome! I highly recommend him for any construction project in your home, and we will hire him again when another project comes up. Definitely goes the extra mile to make sure the homeowner is satisfied with the results. read more

My wife and I needed to remodel our two and a half bathrooms in Alameda, so we searched websites to find a contractor. After interviewing and receiving bids from several highly rated contractors, we made our decision to use Christopher Crawford Construction because the price was very competitive and in more detail than the others. Before signing the final bid, we did our due diligence and checked this company out thoroughly. Soon after Chris started the project, we could see the hard work and great skilled craftsmanship Chris and his team were doing to our home, so we decided to expand and remodel our three bedrooms, ceiling and floors, also, with Chris. All costs and expenses were explained to us completely, so we always knew what to expect all the time. Chris and his crew worked very hard to get the job done on schedule, they clean up after each day and did a great job in every little detail. We highly recommend Christopher Crawford Construction to any one. read more

Chris Crawford HAS to be your construction contractor 'go to' guy! After demolishing our outdated kitchen, Chris installed beautiful cabinets that will transcend time. When Chris personally came to our home with several cabinet samples, we knew these cabinets were of a higher quality than we had seen. Chris was always professional, pleasant and always available if/when we needed him. We were amazed at how clean he was before, during and after the kitchen cabinet install. We can't say enough about him other than to say HIRE HIM for any construction work!!! You will extremely happy. read more

I live out of state but own an apartment building in San Rafael. I hired Chris to do a renovation of one of our unit's kitchens. He did a great job, so I hired him again for a second kitchen redo and will keep doing so as un-renovated units become vacant. Chris has a great team that works efficiently to get the job done on-time. He is easy to reach via phone or email, which made managing a renovation from out-of-state extremely easy. His prices are reasonable and he is a good problem-solver. I definitely recommend him. read more

There is nothing on this page including the description of Chris' company that is recognizable! Our dealings with Chris were nothing short of a nightmare! We met him in Cabinets to Go in Oakland when we went to look at Cabinets. He overheard us talking with a salesman and came over and introduced himself and said he was from our town and grew up here. He stated he was a contractor and would be interested in doing our job and it would give him a chance to visit. He gave us his card and I called him later on and he volunteered to come out and do the measure, which he did. He actually mismeasured and as a result one cabinet sticks past the doorway by an inch and a half. We ordered the cabinets and when time for installation came the nightmare started! He never showed up in the morning to work, some days it was 1 pm and then he would want to stay till 8 or 9 pm even though I told him I did not want him here that late. He wouldn't work consecutive days, come for 1 day and may not be back for 3. The quality of his work is not acceptable. He installed an electrical outlet on the outside of the wall, when I said it wasn't acceptable he took the backing off the cabinet and installed it inside but the outlet was too far back. He told me I needed to have an electrician bring a long screw to fix it. He brought a representative for a competing cabinet company into my home without asking permission, all of a sudden a stranger was in my kitchen! He had his cousins visit the first day on the job. He spent most of his time on the phone or texting while his 1 worker did most of the work. He was extremely messy and did not clean up. Bottom line, I would NEVER recommend Chris Crawford Construction. He is the least professional business person I have ever encountered. read more
