HOME FIX is the fairy godfather of home repairs! I had a running list of work I needed help with, and I called HOME FIX out of desperation: the stair lights quit working, my bathroom sink wouldn't stop leaking, the door frame to the garage FELL OFF, there were cracks in the corners of our "renovated" rooms, and our former contractor left the job with our money and an unfinished stucco job on the side of our house. Honestly, the amount of stress I felt due to the abandonment I felt with our first contractor left me hesitant to trust another one. I'm sorry to give a less than fabulous review. I held off because the people are very nice. But this week I ran into a glitch related to their work months ago, and decided to write. I have a few suggestions. First, be sure you get a written bid. We did not, and the price was higher than the verbal estimate. To their credit, they lowered it, which they didn't have to do. Check if the job is per hour or per job. If it's per hour, track the hours. The installation (of can lighting and dimmers in kitchen) was problematic, and the man had to come back to fix things. The billing was sloppy, since we were charged for a light we ourselves had bought, and there some other errors as well. I don't think any of it was intentional. As I say, they are very nice and honorable people, and I think if you work out all the details in advance, and if you know exactly what you want, they could be fine for you. read more

I had a cabinet that broke free of the wall and they remounted it. They reinfornced the cabinet so it wan't fall off the wall again. They did a great job at a resonable price. The base first hour was $125, but since it only took 30 minutes to complete our job, I paid $65 and was able to enjoy a great new light fixture before guests came over for a party.
