LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes

Overall, I'd give the food a 3.5 out of 5; the flavors felt kind of weak. I also got two empanadas: one pizza, one beef, and cheese--those were a major hit, 5/5! I will be going back in the future to try all the other options they have because there's a lot to try

One of the positives is they have their own parking lot, which makes it easier to visit in downtown Lancaster. The employees will fill your plate/to-go container with the items you choose. They also do not skimp when filling your plate! I bet ours weighted a couple pounds! The large plate is only $17! On this first visit we stayed to the basics we know and love- yellow rice w/beans, roasted pork (pernil), sweet plantains, and a beef and cheese empanada. Everything was bursting with flavor and seasoned perfectly. The food we tried was the best we've had in PA! GSL is easy to get to off rt 30 and you can pre-order online for take-out. There are so many choices even if I went back every day for lunch for a week, I still would not be able to sample all that they offer.
