Roasted pork with rice and jam

Food is delicious, large portions and very inexpensive. Note that this is a cafeteria style restaurant with only a few tables available.

Baked chicken and dry, clumpy yellow rice

I don't know who rated this place with four stars. People who clearly have not had quality Dominican food. This is not it. This is cooking without love, without care... this is dreadful. To start, the plantains are cold, greasy and rubbery. As I scanned the food on the other side of the glass, it was clear that I was in the wrong place. The beef was dried out, the rice was dry and clumpy. Dominican rice melts in your mouth and it is moist and light. It most certainly is NOT clumpy! The food is not covered to preserve its flavor and freshness. Instead it is left out in the open to dry out. All of the meat was over cooked and stale. Their only saving grace (see the 1 star) was the baked chicken, which could use less salt. The empanadas were also stale and disgusting. Whoever owns this dive should be ashamed to call themselves Dominican. I have never seen food prepared and kept so carelessly and poorly. I'm from NYC and you would be hard pressed to find food like this. They need to do better or close down. As a chef, you should take pride in your dishes. The goal is to get patrons to return! Do better. I wish I could get my money back. But to warn others about this place suits me just fine.

Good but nothing special. Portion sizes were smaller and empanadas were not as good as gran sabor or old San Juan. To each their own, I guess.

Good food service was a little crazy two ladies phone taking orders and and service people took a few places is having indoor seating

Me being the procrastinator that I am, I didn't leave work early enough, so I had to rush to get to…read morework on time. This means I didn't pack a lunch and I had to find something fast. My uncle used to be a resident in the Lancaster area, so I went to a place called Prince of Subs, which is known for their chicken wings and, of course, their subs--that's why it's in their name! When I arrived at Prince of Subs it was 11:30 PM at night and I asked for an order of 6 wings, but the guy said, "Let me check." I was surprised because it's a bar and they close at 1:30 in the morning, and of course, greasy food is the best thing to eat when you're drinking. Well, luckily they had six wings left. I asked for some fries and he said they ran out of fries. Me personally, I love some wings and fries. Can't forget about fish and chips, but that's more of a Dublin thing! I don't understand how a chicken spot bar that closes at 1:30 AM doesn't have fries ready, but that's just a story for another day. Because of that, I had to go to a second spot on my way to work. It was a food truck on the side of the road. It had lights so you could still see it, but it was kind of hidden. Come to find out, it's a hidden gem! I got some Dominican loaded fries which had shredded chicken, a bunch of different sauces, some peppers, and of course, fries. I was glad that I made this stop, but I pulled out my cash and I only had a $100 bill on me because it was Friday, it was payday, and I had cashed my check. The guy didn't have change, and so all I had was nine dollars in my pocket besides that one bill. I told him I would come back tomorrow evening. He had a surprised look on his face, but I said, "I work right down the road and I promise you I'll be back before I start work." He trusted me. I gave him my nine dollars and he said okay and gave me my food. As I walked away, it gave me a little bit more faith in humanity. It's amazing how someone that never even knew me, and never saw me before, actually trusted me to come back and give them cash to pay for my food. I did go there the next day and it was a warm welcome, of course. I paid him what I owed him with a little bit extra, only because he had faith in me coming back. I highly recommend this place! Being a truck driver, you always find good food spots along the road, and sometimes you find out if the food is really good or bad while you're going down the road, if you catch my drift. This place is very good; the food settled very well and I definitely give it a hard 4.5 out of 5, only because you cannot see the truck from the road. I hope my review helps you make your decision onto whether you want to eat at this location or not. I hope a college student sees this review as well, because it is right around the corner from Thaddeus Stevens! Branden-Lee AKA B L E E

The Dominican burger, as it's called, was just enough to whet my appetite ( no sides needed ), and I wouldn't ask the chef to change a thing. The ratio of bread to meat to sauce was properly balanced. I appreciate that he used thinly shredded red onions and lettuce in the sauce. Muy muy bueno! I have to admit that I was bugging out a little when I realized that the food truck is diagonal to the Lancaster County prison. I wasn't aware of that beforehand because I wasn't familiar with the area, and I didn't think about making a preorder for pickup. I was just trying to find some highly rated ethnic food on Yelp and just happened to stumble upon this listing. I was out there waiting for my food at 11pm for like 20 minutes. I wasn't scared or threatened... it was just a tad weird. the whole time I sat out in the park across the street from the cart I kept looking over my shoulder. The neighborhood Papi's were out there in full effect getting their late night grub. I also wished that the prices were listed on the menu. Someone posted a picture of the menu 4 years ago and chimis costed $5 each back then, but I paid $10 per Chimi. That's a helluva markup over a short span of time. On the bright side they do take cards unlike some other food trucks.

I love coming to this restaurant. But this time traveling to Lancaster, I was sad to find out that…read morethey relocated to another spot not too far away from the old location. LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes
