    Spicy Mojo Polo! Divine......

I have celiac and a soy allergy. We wanted to do something different for date night. After looking at the menu , then confirming with the restaurant. This was definitely the place we wanted to go. It did not disappoint. This small quaint restaurant hidden in Lancaster was absolutely a must go to . We learned that chefs were the owners, and they prepared everything fresh. The downside to that is they are only open 3 days a week. Friday, Saturday, and Monday . The prices and portions were perfect. I guess I know where I'll be eating 3 days a week.

We had tried to come here for the last couple of years because I'm half Puerto Rican I always love finding home cuisine. The restaurant is very cute and feels like walking into you're titi's kitchen. The service is super sweet and attentive from the moment you call to make a reservation. They were also very accommodating with seating because hubby can't sit on stools because of his back. They started us off with refreshing infused water and promptly opened & poured our wine. We started with 2 appetizers...1st Pupusa - corn meal patty grilled and topped w/ cheddar pickled cabbage & avocado...it was dry & avocado was hard, nothing like the authentic ones which are from El Salvador; 2nd Bacalaitos - Alaskan cod fritter and they were delish. Our entries were... Carne Frita - fried boneless pork chops tossed in our Sweet Heat and served w/rice & beans and he added a side of sweet plantains. Hubby thought his food was tasty & good but not great. AND Mofongo Relleno - fried plantain mashed with garlic, yuca and seasoning then fried again and stuffed with choice of meat or veggies and served w/ rice and beans...I choose PERNIL - marinated roasted pork. I thought my dish was delicious and enjoyed every bite. We took dessert to go...pineapple upside down cake...hoping it's tasty AND will update. Overall good Puerto Rican food with wonderful service and reasonable prices.

It was okay. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. Had the Cuban sandwich with bean and rice with a tres leches for dessert. Extremely slow service. Street parking only. Cute decor. Good portion sizes.

Stopped by Flora's for lunch. Their Tripleta was full of flavor and the bacalaitos were delicious. Give them a try. Cozy environment, great service and food.

    Delectable Lamb Chops!

We love Flora's. The vibe is dope, the sweetest people, the food is beautiful and delectable, and the lamb chops were prepared exactly to temp! We took home a bottle of their habanero hot sauce which was also amazing. A thin, red wine, citrus substance I have never experienced as a hot sauce lover. Can't wait to cook with it -- thinking salad dressing, sauce base enhancer. This place should be first on the list of go-tos!

    All you can eat empanadas

I love Flora's! This is one of the best neighborhood gems! I've never had a meal that I didn't enjoy. It is best to call and make a reservation or get there as soon as she opens. The space is small and there is usually a steady crowd of folks. Monday's are especially busy because of the all you can eat. Five types are offered, you start with three and then you may order one additional at a time. Be sure to ask for the sauces! Two are aioli based and the other two, salsa-like. The empanadas are packed full and very filling. Like all five, but the traditional beef and cheese are my favorite. BYO. They also have a sangria mix that they will prepare with your bottle of wine. Yum, yum, yum! This place is great for lunch or dinner!

Sweet dreams: fried plantains and ice cream

LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes

The food was flavorful. I got the goat, and morcilla (blood sausage) and my partner got the beef, platanos, and yuca. His beef was fall-off-the-bone tender, platinum, and yuca was great. My goat was a bit chewy, and morcilla a bit dry, but still very tasty. I'd definitely come back to try their other à la carte dishes. There are so many choices even if I went back every day for lunch for a week, I still would not be able to sample all that they offer. Now don't get me wrong food was EXCELLENT. But 29 dollars was a little steep compared to other Puerto Rican and Dominican Cuisine restaurants in the Lancaster, York, Lebanon Areas! We got Tostones (garlic sauce was AMAZING!) typically tostones are served with mayoketchup (they have their own version of mayoketchup which was good as well!). The second course was their Pernil, Yellow Rice and side of beans. Also a fantastic dish. The Pernil was not fatty at all and had a great marinated flavor! The smoothie was the 3rd course. Morir Soñando. Think of an Orange juice smoothie/milkshake. Not orange creamsicle. I could drink one of these everyday! Very good would like to go back for the mofongo!
