The owner is the sweetest women I have met. When I first came in here I didn't get a hello or acknowledged really. I decided I wasn't hungry at that moment and went to walk around the town. I came back a little later because I remembered the site or the delicious looking food and had a much better greeting. I'm glad I did because I had a great experience. This cafe is a beautiful combination of tasty baked goods and great coffee. I usually judge cafe quality by the quality of their coffee and most of the time when a cafe specializes in baked goodies the coffee is not as tasty. But this cafe has exceeded all of my expectations. However, I have one complaint and it's about their parking. It is very tough to find parking even on slow days not taking into account days such as Saturdays and Sundays. read more

This 1 Star review is not for the quality of the food- the food is fine. I am giving 1 star because the service and treatment I received from both barista and cashier here Saturday morning was abominable. I spent $14 on two croissants and one beverage and received the worst service I've experienced in ages. I waited in line and received no greeting, when it was my turn, the woman (whom I've now discovered is actually the owner) just gave me an expectant look with eye brows raised as if to say "I'm waiting....". I ordered according to one of the display signs in the pastry case, and the woman asked where I saw that and stated that they didn't have it. I pointed to the sign, and she proceeded to pick up all the other signs around it and kept saying "no, no, no we don't have that" sounding more annoyed each time. Finally she picked up the sign I was pointing to, and goes "oh, well that was a mistake, we don't have that." This happens, but normally followed by a "oh I'm sorry! My bad, I guess we're out of that, what else can I get you?". This woman made no apology for the way she spoke to me, or for the fact that the mistake was theirs (not mine) and didn't ask if she could get me something else. She just stared at me (again, no smile). Very rude. Furthermore, the barista AND the owner who was "helping" me, both forgot my drink order and proceeded to serve the customers after me while I stood there waiting for what felt like a very long time. I finally reminded them of my drink, and again, no apology or even a friendly excuse. They just kept plugging along and I had to wait again for other customers to be served before getting my drink. Obviously, these are first world problems, but for these prices, treatment of customers should be exceptional, or at the very least, just polite- especially if they are expecting a tip (and btw they ring you up and have you tip BEFORE serving you- if I had been able to receive the service beforehand, I can assure you there would have been no tip). Not only did they provide very poor service, but they were both rude and unfriendly. I generally like to give people the benefit of the doubt because everyone has a bad day from time to time, but from reading others' reviews, it sounds like this is a chronic problem at Choux Choux. Like many others who have left disappointed reviews, I live within walking distance of this bakery, and don't mind spending extra money for good authentic pastries, so if I had been treated better, I would have been a loyal and frequent customer here. But especially knowing that the person who provided such lackluster service is the owner (and not just a temporary bad employee) makes me never want to go back. They had better get their act together or this place won't make it. read more

Reviewing on behalf of myself and many coworkers: Some of the pastries here are truly phenomenal. I do believe this bakery has many things to offer. That being said, some kinks do need to be worked out. 1. Ham and cheese croissant was amazing - however, very skimpy on the ham and cheese. What could have been amazing was just barely okay, and this is consistent with other reviews complaining of skimpy fillings. 2. Sandwiches had good flavor though the bread was overwhelming and tough to chew. Poor bread to filling ratio. 3. Poor selection in the afternoon. I understand the practical aspects of baking and preparing a limited amount of food to reduce waste etc - however, I arrived 2 hours before close, and only had a couple pastry options and no savory options. I ended up walking out even though I had been looking forward to a late lunch here all day :-(. 4. Before visiting this bakery I checked the website, which depicted some beautiful photos of items I assumed were for sale at this bakery. Turns out they are not. False advertising in my opinion. I hope that the owner of this business takes everyone's feedback seriously because I want to see this place succeed. I will give it another few tries after a month or two and update my review then. read more

The absolute worst pastry I have ever tasted! The ladies here were extremely nice and I dislike having to give this bakery a bad review but they have no business making pastries. I went in with my husband and the first thing we saw were flies buzzing around and landing on the baked goods. In addition, their twice baked croissants were dried out and the croissant dough was incorrectly made. The twice baked croissants demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of pastry making. The banana cake was so bad, I spit my first bite out. It didn't taste like banana frosting, just sugar and artifical flavor. All of the pastries looked flat and had no rise to the dough. We threw out every single thing we bought here; about six different items to try them. As I said, the ladies working here were so extremely kind but the pastries and cake were just the worst I've ever tasted. I don't know how this place is getting good reviews unless people sincerely don't understand the difference between real pastry. read more

Choux Choux bakery is a cute little bakery tucked on the side of Farms and Market. The food looked good but it was so tiny inside, People had to squeeze behind each other to get to the order line. I had ordered a White chocolate americano with cream and she said Oh the cream is over there on the table; So i canceled my order, I didn't know how long the cream was sitting on the table for. All in all the staff were very friendly and it was cute. I may go back and try it one more time. read more

Choux choux, personally, represents more than just a bakery cafe. It also is a sign, I believe, of the continuing flow of fresh air into Everettt. One might say it feels like a squeeze of custard into the otherwise upper crust of downtown Everett. That being said, the pastries here are some of the best that I have tasted. Some have complained that the look of the pastries appear burnt or dried out---but they certainly do not taste that way. I tried both the twice baked almond croissant ($3.50) and the cinnamon roll ($4) and they were delicately sweet, sumptuously crisp. They offer their savories closer to lunch time. I tried their margarita pizza, quiche Lorraine, and salami sandwich. The quiche had a wonderfully creamy texture to it and a generous portion. The pizza was a bit on the crusty side but the flavor was rich, roasted, and would have paired well with a Cabernet Sauvignon. And salami sandwich had a fig apricot jam which I liked but my savory wife did not. We polished this off with their devil's food cake chocolate tart and brownie--goodnight these were devilicious! And the place is well designed! Large floor to ceiling windows are their own advertisements. Prepare to get svelte and sleek here. Choux away those rainy days. read more

I came here for Christmas treats for my clients this past December and was absolutely swept off of my feet!! The cinnamon buns are to die for and I love how they make everything fresh there. It's a good sign when you look down at your shirt and the table and it is covered crumbs and flakes of buttery delicious pastry. This is our second visit it it was excellent. Kougin amann was nicely caramelized and delicious, hams and cheese croissant delicious. We tried a few new items, chocolate chip cookie and a lace sandwich cookie and a danish of sorts. I've been hearing about this bakery for a while. Been wanting to try it but never had the chance until the other day. Now, I've had my second visit and I'm hooked. So many sweet treats, coffee and more. I read on another comment that they were disappointed that there was not much of a selection in the afternoon but I think that's pretty much how bakeries work. There's obviously a better selection in the morning. I personally was satisfied with my visit about 2 hours before closing. Staff was very friendly and my service was nice and quick. read more

This is absolutely the worst bakery I have ever been to. Driving back from the cascades we stopped here on 12/12/21 and this was legitimately the worst service and food I've ever seen. The selection was incredibly poor, neither bread of the day was available, most pastries and desserts were out. Out of hot chocolate. One of us ordered a chai tea latte and got what can only be described as a steamed with with essence of coffee grounds. Undrinkable. Other bakery items including flourless chocolate cake and cannelle were meh at best. The service is what made this place just beyond acceptable. The man working was unhelpful, short in that he just gave minimal answers and grunts, acted incredibly put out when we asked questions. When I asked where utensils were he said he thought they were at the end of the bar and if not ‍. I would never come here again and the previous reviews are incredibly misleading and I would never recommend anyone go here for even a glass of water. read more

It always smells so good in here, and the pastries are just so good. The croissants are always perfect and buttery, and the twice baked almond ones are just amazing. I love the gorgeous painted shortbread cookies too, they are so flavorful and look so beautiful. Stopped by to enjoy a late morning coffee and nibble, and ended up with not only breakfast, but sides for dinner and pastries for next morning. First off, all the syrups for their coffee drinks are homemade - not Torani or DaVinci - legit homemade with real goodness. Got my standard Americano with a half splash, and it was done well. Picked up the lunch roll made of thick homestyle white bread, with a surprise of a kielbasa and cheese filling... Seriously rib sticking homestyle grub. Husband ordered a ham and cheese croissant - and it was huge - enough for my guy and me to enjoy, but he didn't share :-(. Took home the Friday bread - walnut i think? and it was perfect texture for toasting to go with hearty stews. I can't wait to go back for the macaroons or the other delicious desserts! read more

I invited mom to breakfast and once again we were thunderstruck by the DELICIOUS pastries and coffee. Mom's favorite is the twice-baked almond croissant and my favorite is the delightful chocolate hazelnut croissant. It was a quiet morning and we savored our breakfast enjoying the eclectic vinyl library from which we made a selection. The twice-baked croissant, we learned thanks to a chat with the owner, is transported to a sweet stratosphere by being dipped in simple syrup and baked for a second time, resulting in a moist mouthful of yummy goodness. Perhaps knowing this may have been helpful to our friend from Fargo, ND. We are delighted to have this classic pastry shop in our humble city. I'm not sure where all these good ratings come from. I've been here twice and have been sorely disappointed. First time there was a pretty good selection but most seemed overbaked. Granted the twice baked croissant is supposed to look that way but NOT the other items. Purchased a couple of cookies for my kids thinking maybe they just looked overbaked. Wrong- they were definitely overbaked and tasted like it. I can't imagine what kind of quality control there is in this place, or rather the question should be: why isn't there any quality control? The sugar cookies looked beautiful but were very bland. My second trip in, just in case the 1st time was a bad day, items were still overbaked. I purchased a chicken pot pie-type item and it looked burnt but I bought it anyway. Got home and tried to eat it but couldn't find any chicken in it. I'm done with this place. Don't waste your money. If you want to have coffee and sit around and talk, fine but don't go for the baked goods. If you want yummy baked goods, try the new bakery on Broadway across from Aquasox stadium. They have perfectly baked and eye appealing items. If I remember correctly, its called the Delite Bakery. This is my favorite bakery in Everett. My small boys like to split a cinnamon roll while mom enjoys a cup of coffee with one of the delicious ham and cheese croissants.
