I hate to write a bad review because the pastries are DELICIOUS but I've given this place so many chances that I just can't give it a good review and can't go back, despite how enticing the food. As many other reviewers have commented, Choux Choux has HORRIBLE customer service. Once, I ordered a latte and the barista made it with non-fat milk. When I told her I hadn't wanted non-fat milk and asked her if that was their standard, go-to milk when a customer doesn't state a preference, she said - well, we have whole, 2%, and non-fat. She never answered the question which makes me think I think she just pulls whatever is sitting on the counter. Another time, I've witnessed two baristas working and one was assisting me. The one assisting me asked the other barista to assist the gentleman behind me. She didn't and ended up tidying something. It was incredibly slow and he and I were the only people in the store and, as per usual, they were taking forever with my basic order of one pastry and one latte. The gentleman behind me ended up leaving. I felt so bad for him. I've had another time where the barista was so rude to me because I asked my macaroons to be put in a box instead of a bag. Despite the fact that I was spending $20 in pastries, she said NOTHING else to me after I asked for the macaroons to be put in a box. Apparently I was being too difficult! Additionally, the pastry selection when I've gone - which has always been early or mid-morning - is horrible. I've always only had about 3-5 pastries to choose from. Absolutely love this charming new bakery! Coffee is good. Pastries are super yummy. Bread pudding is a little bland but the cinnamon rolls are so good with orange peel in the dough. I think it's fabulous that they feature a quiche everyday, and the texture is just the way I like it...custardy not rubbery. The layout is awesome, and there is plenty of space to work, visit or relax comfortably. The owner is awesome and knows what she is doing! The rest of the staff was attentive and displayed excellent customer service. It is located in a cute area and there is plenty of parking! I was looking forward to trying this restaurant after reading the review in the Everett Herald. I don't live in Everett but was willing to make a special trip on a rainy day to get a good croissant. I was so disappointed when I walked in & saw that not only were the croissants but all the other French pasteries so over baked they were almost burnt. I asked the girl at the counter if this was how they normally baked their pasteries & was told "Yes it is now since a customer said they weren't baked enough". If a baker can't tell the difference in a perfectly baked French croissant then they should hire someone else. The ones for sale last Saturday should have been thrown out. I'm really lucky to live close to this place. The pastries are great and I am totally addicted to their croissants. The girls that make the coffee are sweethearts and the coffee is good too. I'v had the bread on several different days and the challa on Friday is perfect. As good as bubbies. The baguettes and brioche are super yummy too. Honestly I have few complaints. It is frequently crowded and the layout is awkward. To get to seats you have to go back from the register through the line. Also normally only one person up front so sometimes it's slow. It isn't a place I would go if I was in a rush, but if you have time it's a joy Edit: Folks, I just want to point out that you are -not- entitled to have your special diets catered for everywhere you go. The place smelled like mold the one time I went. I ordered a caprese style sandwich and a lemon cake slice. I found a dead fly with my cake. My wife and I stopped in for the rye bread advertised on Wednesdays. The young blonde at the counter did not greet us when we walked in. Though we were looking for rye bread, she did not offer any information to promote the business with 0 stars in customer service. My wife had to pry for info. If it were my company, I would not hire somebody disinterested in customer service. The product looks and smells great; however we left with nothing. I can taste quality ingredients in everything I ate. The twice baked croissant is awesome. The pizza very is tasty. Macaroons were spot on. I had a slice of coconut cake that tasted like my grandmother made it. The prices are on the top end but I am willing to pay for quality food. The only problem I have is the restrooms are located on the other side of the building. If you need to wash your hands before eating you need to exit the store, walk 40 yards outside, enter the other side to get to the washroom. read more

About three tables had seated customers, and two people were in line in front of me. Despite having three employees behind the counter and more in the kitchen, they seemed overwhelmed. This spilled over into terse exchanges among the staff and frowns all around. In addition to the moody workers, my pastries were bad. Not merely disappointing, but truly foul. The twice baked almond croissant was over baked on the outside, and wet as a saturated sponge on the inside. It tasted burned and literally dripped with moisture. The rum soaked raisin scone was equally inedible. The fruit was bitter, and the dough was chalky. Had I chosen to eat in rather than take away, I would have talked to the staff about how bad both pastries were. Instead, I tossed them. read more

This bakery has a great location and a great atmosphere. The selection was really good, I got a sandwich and a cappuccino. The sandwich bread was so overcooked and hard that I couldn't take a bite, it smelled and looked good beyond that so I think with normally cooked bread it would be great. The cappuccino had no foam at all, so it was an ok latte. This place is brand new so I think once they work out the kinks it will be great! read more
