Wonton soup. Tastes good, but for 3.50; more wonton plz!
Trav H.

The server was very nice, but I asked if there were bell peppers in the Kung pao, and he said yes. As you can see from the first picture, no bell peppers are in sight. When I asked about it, he talked to the chef and offered to add bell peppers at no extra cost, so I considered that fully acceptable as he mentioned he thought there was (also there are bell peppers in the menu photo). The flavor, however, was much too vinegar in my personal opinion, and there was too much water chestnut. Also kinda felt like for $3.50, the wonton soup was kind of small, but I guess that's food prices now. I would come back and try it again if they changed the sauce to have less vinegar.

My son's welcome home celebration. The food was delicious and they were able to accommodate 25 guests. They were also able to give the Grandparents and Godparents their own table. I wish I had taken photos of the dishes. My guests favorites were the salt and pepper fish, Peking duck, Beef chow fun and Vegetarian Chow Fun. Thank you so much GiGi and to your Mom as well.

After a movie date, my boyfriend told me about this restaurant he would frequently order from back when he lived in Kent. This was that restaurant and when he arrived, he was surprised but intrigued to see the interior was remodeled. When we went through the door, we were greeted and seated promptly by our waitress. She was very knowledgeable on their menu and friendly to us. We had ordered the pupu platter and two of their family dinner combo B. The pupu platter is so worth the money and experience. The coolest one I have ever seen with only delicious appetizers that shouldn't be missed on it. The crab rangoon, egg rolls, bbq pork and fried shrimp were my personally favorites! They also brought out extra egg rolls and cold bbq which I thought was neat. The waitress and cook(?) came over to tell us about their extra offering and talked with us a bit about how the owners have changed. I think they are in goos hands as the decor and atmosphere were pleasant, the service was wonderful and the food was amazing. They make their own hot chili oil, as well as most of what they have on the menu which is a great sign! The chow mein, fried rice, Mongolian beef (It is spicy-ish) and sweet and sour chicken were great. Also their wonton soup broth is to die for and I enjoyed their egg flower soup as well. My boyfriend told me that the sweet and sour was the same to his relief as that was his go to order for takeout. Although there a few places I'd love to visit in Kent, this little gem has a special place in my heart and I'll return when I am ever in the area.

Ordered vegetable chow mein with crispy noodles. And noodles appeared to be over fried won ton strips. Mongolian beef was bland.

The very best of fresh asian cuisine. Specials are good size portions and very reasonable prices. Family owned!

Good food for a good price, and great customer service. Only complaint was that the fried rice wasn't that good.

Had their fresh spring rolls for lunch a thai iced tea. Their peanut sauce for the spring rolls is one of my favorite sauces. Very yummy.

We have really enjoyed our meals here. It's just been lunches so far. The cook and waitress are…read moreso nice and strive to make you happy. Not sure, but maybe the owner is the cook....he just seems like it.

It appears I am going to be the first review for new ownership. As you can tell from my original…read morereview, I was not a fan of this place. Portions were large and the price was fair, but the food and service were HOT GARBAGE. I'll be honest, I say this often, when you take over a business, unless it's wildly popular CHANGE THE NAME, because all of the bad reviews and bad opinions follow you, unfairly. I was doing my monthly check for ew restaurants when I found a post about previous ownership retiring. I was a bit skeptical, because sometimes ownership changes don't change at all, they keep the staff, recipes, etc. That was not the case here and you knew this from my updated score. They are using far ore chicken breast, No shade to dark meat, but white meat is a premium plate! We had lunch specials. The Hot & Sour was far more sour than hot, it would benefit from more chicken stock. Lunch came with a potsticker. Solid move, because I love potstickers, but these deep fried potstickers are fast food style. I'd rather have a spring rool than a deep fried potsticker. They also made a mistake on my order. In the process, they committed a restaurant foul. You make a mistake on my order, then you want to take my plate. No! Bring out the right items and I'll start on this plate while it's hot. I wanna give these guys 4 stars, but with the mistake on my meal, and lack of attention, having to flag down servers for water, I'm holding firm on 3, but they certainly have 4, of not 5 star potential. The group at the table next to us said, "This could be better than previous ownership". This is far better than previous owners. If they improve the service, increase the flavor and stop cutting corners with deep fried potstickers, I'd be happy to upgrade them again.

We came around dinner time on a weekday and it wasn't busy at all, but it did take a while for the food to come out. We got the steamed spareribs, truffle shu mai, pork and taro shu mai, fried mochi with pork, sticky rice, and salted egg yolk mochi. I loved absolutely everything so much! Flavors were spot on, textures were amazing, and they were also really unique. I loved the truffle flavor on the shu mai, and the ham sui gok was done so well here too. I'm a huge salted egg yolk fan, and they did the mochi ball here perfectly too. I want to come back soon!!

Went here planning to have dim sum for lunch, but saw they had Peking duck on the menu. I'm a big…read morefan of Peking duck and ordered the whole instead of half. In hindsight, I should have realized that a Cantonese restaurant wouldn't likely get this dish right. The "Peking duck" at Triumph Valley was actually Hong Kong style roast duck. A plate came out with the duck skin. The duck meat was nowhere on this plate. Traditionally, Peking duck meat is served in thin slices and layered under the duck skin. A large bowl was set on the table. There it was, chopped through the bone into chunks with skin, meat, and bone intact. This is a signature style of serving Hong Kong roast duck. Unsurprisingly, the flavor was not pure, natural duck flavor. Instead, it tasted of Hong Kong style with 5 spice seasoning including star anise. It was also a pain to eat because of this poor carving style. Triumph Valley didn't use the traditional thin wraps either, opting for easier steamed bao buns. Thin pancakes are the traditional choice because their light, paper-thin texture doesn't overpower the crispness and rich fat of the duck skin. Triumph Valley used bao buns because they are easier to source (frequently purchased frozen) and are simpler for kitchens to prep than handmade pancakes. Big waste of $50. Avoid the "Peking duck" if choosing to dine at this Hong Kong restaurant because it is falsely advertised there and will leave you disappointed if you have experience with actual Peking duck and appreciate its natural flavors.

VERY disappointed. I've always walked by this place and wanted to give it a try…read more Sadly, this is yet another restaurant in this area that uses full strength industrial cleaner on their tables. The smell is overpowering. 80%-90% of taste is based on smell. All I could smell was chemical cleaner and could barely taste the food. When the bus person passed by me, the smell was even worse because of the cleaner soaked rag. He was spraying it straight out of the bottle so it was full strength, not diluted. I'm pretty sure if you read the instructions on any harsh chemical like that (I think this was ZEP, by the dark purple color), instructions are to dilute it and to rinse or wipe off with water. I've very sure they do neither here. You shouldn't be using any kind of smelly, harsh chemcial to clean tables in a restaurant. Quat santizer doesn't smell and is the standard practice. Whoever is selling ZEP in this area is making a killing apparently. (I can't dine in at Triumph Valley for the same reason). Harsh chemicals shouldn't be anywhere near food. Think about that when you rescue a wayward dumpling when it bounces onto the table. yuck. Having said that, I expected the beef noodles soup to be more flavorful. The broth was just okay, not as deeply flavored as I would've expected. And the meat was just barely tender enough, but not that impressive either. Fried spring rolls were very oily and the filling was severely overcooked. Complete mush. Not good. I wish I could say better things, but I barely finished half my meal because of the chemical smell. $14.99 for beef noodle soup is a good deal if you can actually taste it. $6.25 not a good deal for mushy, oily spring rolls.
