Super impressed with everything we ordered! Great quality and freshly made meals! INCREDIBLE MEAL! Location is cute and comfortable! I want to come back!

Vegan "water fried" bao. Perfect little snack!
Stephanie C.

Stopped in for a small snack with my husband to tide us over to dinner while we were in Denver. We had the "water fried" vegan bao, which is a bit more like a dumpling than what I usually think of as bao, but it was tasty and really hit the spot. The location is small, but tidy, and since we were there in the afternoon but before the dinner rush, it was relatively quiet. There was outdoor seating that would presumably be nice in warmer weather, but we stayed indoors because it was cold. Their restroom floor is slightly scary in that it looks a bit unstable and cracked, and it definitely showing some wear and tear, but was otherwise fine. Service was friendly and the food came out pretty quick. If I had more time, I would have liked to stop by at some point to try their vegan Dan Dan Noodles, but we didn't end up having a ton of wiggle room on our trip--maybe next time!

Pork water-fried dumplings

I was in town for work and this place was about a block and a half away, and I was craving dan dan noodles and dumplings. My favorite are water-fried dumplings (shengjian bao), so I ordered 8 pork along with a bowl of dan dan noodles. I wanted a drink too, but they were out of the classic milk tea, so the cashier recommended the peach tea with boba. Dumplings were great! Crispy bottoms, juicy filling -- exactly what I was hoping for. The dan dan noodles weren't as spicy as I like, but I appreciated that they included mustard greens and bok choy, which gave the bowl some nice texture and freshness. The bubble tea was... not good. Just way too sweet for my tastes, even after stirring it a few times. I ended up not finishing it. I came by during lunch and it was fairly busy. Most tables were full, but as a solo diner I was able to snag a table for two without any issue. Overall, solid spot for dumplings and noodles if you're in the neighborhood -- I'd definitely come back, but I'll skip the boba next time.

I'm kinda fascinated by the vibe of this place. The decor feels like elevated casual dining while still maintaining a hole-in-the-wall small business energy. I came here with Hubby to keep him company while he ate dinner. I didn't order anything because I had already had eaten prior to coming here. But based on this first visit, I decided to come back the next day for lunch. I ordered the Vegan Dan Dan noodles which came with corn, baby bok choy, and pickled veggies. The amount of toppings were so abundant, you can't even see the large amount of noodles underneath. But they're in there with a light sauce. This meal hit the spot! https://yelp.to/tAOwJfnCvQ If I had a bigger appetite or more time in Denver for another visit to Chopsticks, I would check out the Vegan Bao. If I ever make a trip back to Denver, I'm coming back here :)

Soup Dumplings, mushroom, chicken potstickers

For Colorado it's a 4 star rating For the Bay Area, it's a 3 It's always when I travel I crave "home" food. I swung by here to grab some soup dumplings because of the reviews. It is fairly priced. Not really a restaurant setting (more like a Five guys for dumplings) * I got: - soup dumplings: meat didn't have flavor, dumpling wrapper is too thick, broth is okay. - chicken potstickers: "very popular" but I didn't like it at all. No flavor at all. - Woodward mushroom: loved this one! Overall the best part of this was the Woodward mushroom & how fast the food came out. Service was also good! Unfortunately I threw away half of the dumplings and some of the soup dumplings away..

Great dumplings!!! Line to order. Tip requested for pickup (I missed that 8% was added by business as a tip). Out of all rice dishes. Sugary sodas and teas with sugar too. Bao was excellent. Small but a few in an order.

My husband and I were looking for a light snack to share, and we stumbled upon chopstickers... We are both suckers for a good steamed bun so we decided to try it! We weren't disappointed. We were cursing ourselves that we had decided to share because we both wanted to eat as many steamed buns as we could possibly fit into our bellies! The restaurant was clean inside and the service was great. Our food came out really quick and was super fresh. If you love, steamed buns... This is the place for you!

Beef noodle soup and edamame

You will not be disappointed. So good. VERY reasonable prices for so much food. .

The service is minimal and you pay first so you don't need to tip too much. The food is authentic, but very salty. It's a casual place for some comfort foods.

You walk in to pick up your order and they have tables blocking the entry, that's where you pay for your food. The portions are still as giant as ever, and the prices are still affordable. My wife and I had a hankering the other day for our old stomping grounds, so we jetted over there to pickup an order. It was ready in 10 minutes and two meals ran us $32. I think I pay $32 for a good cup of coffee these days!!!!!! I kid, I kid. The meal lasts you for days, you really get two giant sized portions out of it. It will probably last some of you three days. They don't skimp out here and it's incredible. They serve Asian fusion, Chinese American meals that are addictive. Or is that the MSG??? Probably so, and that's why it's delicious. (Note, they are closed on Tuesdays.) I placed our pickup order on a Saturday night & it was ready in 15 minutes. The restaurant is for take-out only. Our food was in containers & placed in a box. I appreciated this since there was no way anything was going to tip over & spill. Very friendly phone & counter service as well. Note, you get six free Cheese Wontons when your order is more than $40. We ordered three different entrees with three different sides - Steamed White Rice, Fried Rice & Lo Mein Noodles. The sides were good, however the fried rice didn't seem fried, it was white rice with soy sauce. The Sweet & Sour Shrimp Entree was tasty - the shrimp were medium sized, cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce. The Sesame Chicken Entree was even better, the chicken was moist & tender. The beef in the Mongolian Beef Entree was great however there were way too many onions in the dish. Overall, a very satisfying meal.

We were told that Star Kitchen has a good dim sum service and our experience bore out that recommendation. Star Kitchen has 40 tables which is not enough for the demand so reservations are an absolute necessity. One cannot do this over the phone or on the web. Rather, they have a check-in system in the lobby which is only available about 15 minutes before the 10:00 store opening. Odd but effective since it likely eliminates problems with no-shows. Be advised there is a line before the lobby opens! Star Kitchen seats about 120 diners. They only had 5 carts which is far too few for the demand. Two carts are devoted to steamed, two for fried, and one for tofu and congee. The selection of fare was superb and featured the classics. I will say that the kitchen ensured the carts were always stocked. The lack of carts makes the wait between helpings longer than we would have preferred but the quality and taste more than made up for the delay. We started with chrysanthemum tea, ordered a mix of both steamed and fried classics then finished with honey tofu (which we highly recommend!) Six dishes plus dessert is more than enough for two adults. The food is excellent though the ambiance is classic Chinese eatery - functionality punctuated by bizarre objets d'art and random piles of boxes and linens. Go early and sit tight as your patience will be richly rewarded.

My favorite this time around were the leek dumplings with a side of noodles. We finished off with a coconut bun that wasn't too sweet. It was the perfect finish to the meal with ample amounts of tea. My group of 7 shared the roasted pork, pork and duck barbecue. I'm not a fan of duck so it would not be fair for me to write anything about it, but those who loved duck meat said that this place serve wonderful barbecue duck. As for the pork, both roasted and barbecue, they were so good. We had a little bit of white rice to eat with the meat, but really, you don't need the extra rice in order to eat these two types of pork meats. Since both styles of the pork were prepared differently, I cannot say one is better than the other: they were both delicious. The crunchiness and the flavorful from the roasted pork, as well as the aroma and the soft chewy from the barbecue pork, brings this dining experience to the next level. We also ordered the yu stir fry choy sum in garlic, the combination fried rice, and salt and pepper shrimp. I highly recommend the yu choy and shrimp dishes. I would skip the fried rice and get their beef chow fun, which is exactly what my other group of 6 did. In addition to what were mentioned above, they ordered Chinese broccoli, daikon and beef in clay pot, Taishan five spice duck, salted fish & chicken fried rice. Everyone enjoyed their food and dining experience here. Conversations were easily understood and heard. When asked what their favorite dish was, all of us said we liked everything, but when pressed to give one special dish, several folks mentioned the roasted pork, the clay pot, and the salt and pepper shrimp. Service here was excellent. The manager was very accommodating to our large group of diners, coming back and making sure we are doing fine as he refilled our water glasses.
