I still can't really put my thoughts together on this place. ingredients and quality of ingredients are definitely something they put on priority which is something i like a lot about chom burger. Prices seem a little higher due to that. Great thing about the burgers are that even though they seem small, they seem to fill me up real quick! Really good food and good service. They lost my order and we waited 45 minutes. We asked where our order was and once they figured out they didn't have it, they gave me a full refund and a free shake. The staff was super nice. Really good food. 10/10 would eat here again. Overhyped for the money. $22 for two burgers and a shake (skinny fries and fountain drinks are extra). Buns are so soft and charred (a bit more burnt than toasted), the avocado is really guacamole, bacon was tough (tricky to bite through), should buy an extra patty for the ratio (they say it's 1/4 lb. but it's spread so thin that there's not enough beef per bite), Chocolate shake tastes like Hershey's syrup (although they say the sauce is housemade), Chom sauce is a fancy Thousand Island or fry sauce with relish, they're generous with the lettuce-wrap, it's noisy at 2/3 full, and the seating is uncomfortable flat wood. My 1st & last visit at this place. I ordered the garlic aioli Burger $6.95. Then after waiting for way too long, I was served a $5.25 regular rare Chom burger. Asked Twice to have it cut in half. Ordered vinaigrette dressing for salad. Served Caesar. My friend had similar bad experience. How hard is it to get a burger order right? Don't think this place will last long. The burgers were great. Fries were just ok. Grasshopper shake was pretty good! We ordered the sweet potato fries and regular fries. We usually love sweet potato, but I would get only regular on the next visit. Everything tasted super fresh though. I'd probably visit again for the burger alone. Taste wise this place is great. Mainly just overpriced for the size of the burgers. I got the chicken sandwich and it was about as average as they come--stick to the burgers. LOVED the pb shake. They use crunchy peanut butter and I love a good crunch in my shakes. Had a breakfast sandwich from here once and really enjoyed that too. I feel like there is a lot of good competition for really good burgers around here in Utah. CHOM definitely has a lot of good things going for it that really hype them up compared to their competition. Pros: 1. They're local- so that's cool 2. Their BBQ Cheeseburger will leave you dreaming about it for days later. 3. Nice set up, go up write down what you want, get a buzzer, get your food, sit down. 4. Trendy and inviting setting. 5. Awesome thin fries battered fries and fry sauce 6. Shakes are decent 7. Seems well run. The owner seems detail oriented and the staff seems well trained. Cons: 1. Seating isn't the most comfortable. Booths are just kind of hard wood, doesn't make you want to sit and hang out very long. 2. This is very much a personal preference, but I think the ordering counter is too high. I'm 5'2 and I can barely see over it and the poor cashier has to over extend to take my order card. 3. Parking is a little tricky with Sodalicious across the street and a very narrow back alley. It's not ample by any means so I can see getting there during a busy hour kind of a nuisance. In all I would frequent here often if hamburgers were generally a health option to eat on the regular ;). read more

Not bad for in person dining. Pickup and catering is not great. I ordered pickup for a medium party of 6 and when I got there for pickup they didn't have bags to carry things out and they just handed me a bunch of empty cups for me to fill up on my own. Chom dropped off some breakfast sandwiches to my work for free this past week. I was very impressed with the way they were trying to earn new business and loved the Sandwich! Today, I walked in at 11:03am. There was not one customer in the restaurant. I asked if it was too late for a breakfast sandwich and they said that it was. I understand that breakfast is only served until 11 AM, but you can't tell me that if I walked in 3 minutes sooner that it would have made a difference. They can't go to the back, grab an egg and throw it on the grill with some cheese? The book "The $6000 Egg" explains this level of customer service perfectly and it needs to be integrated with these employees right away. Or they will end up losing customers :( read more

Did a drive by and it looked like an interesting place to try. I got the BBQ Burger and it was outstanding. I'd call it the best burger in Provo hands down. The Bun was so soft and fresh. Bacon and cheese with onion rings made this a melt in your mouth experience. Burger was a little smaller than I thought it would be for the price but it was heavenly. Fries were good and crisp. I got the Pumpkin-Biscoff Shake and that was the only disappointment. Too thin and not much flavor. They should lower their prices as the place was a ghost town at lunch. read more

I went there during lunch time and the restaurant was empty, that should have been a red flag for me. I got their bbq burger after asking the cashier what was their most popular burger, i don't think the burger was great in fact it was not memorable at all, quite pricey, i also order a kids burger only to find out i was gonna get a slider, just meat and bun, super salty fries that i couldn't even finish eating. I tried to save my experience by ordering a shake. Watery and it lacked flavor. So overall not a good experience for the amount of money i payed. So disappointing because the place looked so nice. read more

The shakes are amazing and on their own would be worth 5 stars, but every time we've been to Chom that's the only thing we end up really enjoying. The burgers are just okay, nothing that special though. Just didn't fulfill the craving for a really good burger. Our fries tonight were not fresh tasting at all - they were good as far as taste, but kinda cold and seemed like they were at the bottom of the batch or something. I tried CHOM for the first time last night and it will probably be the last. If you go in expecting to be satisfied plan on spending between $10-14 per person. As far as the food goes, it's good but doesn't measure up to the prices that they are asking. They have a few burger options which can then be customized by add ons that cost anywhere from $1-2 each. Their fires are fine, but again nothing special. It's good to try once, but for I'd stick to JCWs. read more

A solid eat. I've been here a couple times & I've always been satisfied with my meal. I've had the Chom Burger & the BBQ Bacon Burger. I'd definitely recommend both, but especially the latter! People are divided about the potato buns, but I personally like them. Fries are good. Not life changing but solid. My only complaint (and the loss of a star) stems from the price for the quality/amount of food. A normal sized burger with a small basket of fries & a drink will run you $11 or more. You can get a similar amount of food at about the same, decent quality for half the price at In N Out. I had been to Chom and was excited to come back. Ordered the Cobb Salad and the new Chili Cheese Burger and the seasonal shake Smore. The shake was awesome and the salad was ok. However, I did not like the chili burger. It just was not good. I don't know what else to say about it. Maybe I just ordered wrong but here is the kicker and what drives me to take time to write a review like this. My husband took the burger after I only took one bite to ask for something else, the Chom Burger. They said they would bring it out. We continued to eat the fries and salad and no one brought us a burger. There was no one in line and it wasn't busy. We waited for 20 mins. They had forgotten and were doing the closing routines. Although overpriced it is delicious! I love the shakes and burgers. Very yummy. Get the grasshopper with Oreo instead of chips.

OMG! This place is a burger-lovers paradise! The burgers have excellent smoky flavor, the fries have peel on them and are crispy and delicious! Oh and the buns taste homemade. Honestly, this place is meh. I am giving it a 3 star because I went there the first week they opened and I have yet to be back, so I'm not sure if they have improved since then. The burgers we're kind of boring and a little on the expensive side for what you were getting. I might try and give it another shot in the future and hopefully they can prove me wrong. read more
