Finding it by the scoop in Utah is still a relatively new development, and Blue Moo in Pleasant Grove is one of only two locations in the state making that possible alongside their West Jordan store. The ice cream itself delivers. Rich, creamy, and exactly what the Blue Bell reputation promises. We tried the salted caramel and the cookie dough and neither disappointed. Two single scoops came to $9.68, which is reasonable compared to similar spots and worth it for the quality. You can also grab pints to take home if you want to stock the freezer. Now for the quirks. The standard serving method is a scoop in a cup with a sugar cone placed on top rather than the ice cream scooped into the cone itself. It sounds like a small thing until you are actually eating it and realize the experience is genuinely different. Same elements, different result. It is a presentation choice that nobody asked for and one worth reconsidering. The seating situation needs attention too. There are a few tables inside and several outside, but only one umbrella on what can be a brutally sunny summer day in Pleasant Grove. More pressing is the trash container sitting just steps from the entrance next to the parking space. The smell on a warm day is noticeable and unwelcoming for a place built around sitting outside and enjoying a treat. Simple, clean, and traditional inside. The ice cream earns your visit. The environment needs work before it earns your loyalty. Three stars.
