First time trying this local favorite and it did not disappoint! Handel's had so many different flavors it was kind of overwhelming, but I finally settled on the raspberry cheesecake chunk in a waffle cone. The ice cream was rich and delicious and it had real chunks of cheesecake in it. I think one of the reasons why this place is so popular is because of the portion sizes. I got a small and it was huge! Even on a cold winter day, Handel's was busy on a Friday night. The service was incredibly fast and the workers were all super sweet. There's a small corner in the store with benches and a table if you're lucky you can snag a spot to enjoy your treat. I know there's other locations, but overall, I had a great experience at the Orem location and will definitely be back to try a different flavor! read more

Ice Cream makes everything better... AND great ice cream makes everything greater... Unique flavors. Started in 1945! Many Fans of this ice cream. Ah, this place is wonderful, I've included several pictures but you should probably DROP EVERYTHING and go pick a flavor and enjoy! BTW- my ice cream did NOT fall on the floor, I will be more diligent next time. Haha! Happy people serve you and happy people eat ice cream here... really FANTASTIC! read more

I love the ice cream! They have a lot of good flavors and the texture is perfect. For some reason this location consistently gets my order wrong though. Some employees are amazing and so friendly! Some seem like they really don't want to be there so customer service is hit or miss. I've been going weekly since it's been hot lately, and twice in my recent four visits they got the flavor wrong. The first time I luckily started eating it in my car and noticed it was wrong so they fixed it right away when I went back in the store. The second time I took it home to eat so didn't realize it until it was too late to be fixed. I wish they would repeat back the flavors to you when you checkout or at some point during the ordering process to be sure they're correct. I guess the lesson for myself and others is to check all of the flavors in your bowl before you leave this store. read more

Service was great and they have a very large selection of flavors! The interior was charming and clean!

Super friendly staff and clean shop. I LOVED having the whole pecans in the snappy turtle. Still so crunchy and crisp. That is the main reason I ordered it, other than the fact that it's chocolate ice cream. Yum! The banana flavor with brownie bits n caramel was good too. You really can't go wrong here. Everything is so good. read more

Delish!! Great flavors and texture. I'm not much of an ice cream person but this place was worth a stop

We love ice cream from Handel's. The service is pleasant and fast and they are always patient if I want to sample a new flavor. Love it!

The ice cream is super great and the team is friendly and helpful, thank you so much!!

The ice cream was good and there is a good amount of seating outdoors. I would go again!

We all need more ice cream. It's a proven cure for whatever ails you. At the recommendation of another yelper, we tried Handel's as a family and we love it! There are so many flavors and that it seemed a little overwhelming at first, but the young man who helped take our order was kind enough to help us out. He told us how they make their ice cream and steered us towards a couple of his favorites and their most popular flavors. There are so many different things to try you can go back over and over and over (which we already have) and have a different experience every time. Go and try Handel's! read more

First time ever experiencing Handel's ice cream - ever! Came here tonight with the familia with the expectation of being impressed, and boy let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed! Hubby got the Tin Lizzy, with real bits of toffee so if you're a toffee lover, this is a must flavor to try. We also tried the French Silk Pie, which was really tasty and a definite flavor for chocolate lovers. I couldn't resist having their Coffee Chocolate Chip. It was instant CRUSH at first bite! Their regular strawberry was alright but had to get for the little girl who liked simple flavors. The place was clean and very inviting. The staff was super friendly, accommodating, and were eager to help us and let us try any flavor we wanted (as many times we asked) which we really appreciated! All in all, it was a very pleasant first time experience and we will definitely be returning to this location again. A sure treat in Utah County! read more

This place has been around since 1945?!! Where have I been? I became an instant fan of the banana cream pie! Be warned though - a small is NOT small. It's massive! I think I just consumed 3000 calories. And I don't even feel a tinge of guilt. read more

Sweet, sweet ice cream dreams come true here people. I am astounded at just how many *good* flavors there are here! They have a huge variety that would please any pallet and all the options are down right delicious. Priced a little higher than average, the ice cream you'll find here is far above average in quality, texture and flavor. PLUS they give your little ones a free baby cone with sprinkles that is just perfect for their tiny little hands and appetites. My personal favorite flavor is monkey business followed by, in no particular order, black raspberry chocolate chunk, caramel apple, oreedough, blue monster, French silk pie, graham central station, and orange creamsicle. There are seasonal flavors too, so even if you think you've tried them all, (which you totally haven't) there's always something different on the menu! Everyone who works here has always been very kind and they get us served very quickly. The only thing I wish they had was tables so I could sit my family down inside to enjoy our treats. 10/10 would recommend Handles to anyone and 10/10 will have to go back immediately after posting this review. read more

We went to Handel's in American Fork last week and we're so impressed with their ice cream, plus we were able to get some favorite flavors. My husband loves nuts in his ice cream and I'm a peanut butter lover. He had rocky road and I think mine was called Peanut Butter Dream. Friday night, we decided to go back to Handel's only we decided to go to the Orem store since we live in Orem. They did not have the same flavors available as the American Fork store. In fact, neither of the flavors we had in AF were available. But, we thought we could "make do", until we found out that none of their flavors contain nuts. That was a deal breaker for my husband. We left dissatisfied with our trip and wished we had gone back to AF instead read more

Some of the best ice cream in the valley. Best flavors: Blueberry cobbler, Banana cream pie, Chocoholic Chunk, Monkey Business, and Cinnamon Graham Cracker. I come back often just to pick up a pint or quart for later. Their prices are pretty good compared to the other local ice cream parlors with similar ice cream quality -- $6 for a pint, $9 for a quart. NOTE: Come back every Holiday or Season change to try their seasonal flavors! Midnight Madness was equally fantastic as well as their Peppermint Bark and White Christmas. read more

What are you doing with that Baskin Robbins cone? *smacks cone out of your hand, straight to the floor, into a melty puddle of sadness* What you need is a nice portion of ice cream with great flavor, amazing consistency, and without having to pay a pretty penny. Their motto is "We never skimp". And skimp they do not (whether that be quantity or quality). The small single flavors are actually 2.5 scoops, double flavors are 3.5 scoops. My wife and I shared Oree Dough and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie, both of which were delicious and highly recommended. And because NOBODY wants to lose any of that deliciousness to the floor, we were given a cup/lid to ensure that we could enjoy all of our Handel's Homemade ice cream as we ate it under the sun. The one thing I was a little cautious about was the fact that none of the employees were wearing gloves while serving the ice cream. Regardless of the current COVID climate, I think it's just good practice to serve ice cream with gloves. read more

First words out of my 15 yo daughters mouth when we walked outside, "I liked her!" Chloe was fabulous! So friendly and accommodating! Second thing out of my daughters mouth, "This has the perfect texture!" Third thing, "Best ice cream ever!" Well, I think you all have done it! Huge variety! We chose mint Oreo, butter pecan, and strawberry but I honestly wanted to try some of each. Loved the 'Top 10 flavors' board. I'm sure that's a question they get a lot! I was delivering some to my son and husband so I was so thankful that they had lids! Just a great experience all around! I guess we have found our new ice cream place! read more

Is this my fourth different Handel's Ice Cream location in the past month?! Whoops.... Guys, Handel's ice cream is QUALITY. It's so good!!! Very fresh and flavorful and creamy. They have great, unique flavors, AND they let you upgrade your single scoop to a double scoop for free if you check in on Yelp and show them your coupon. This time I wanted to try something new, so I tried the Spouse in a House (or something like that?) and French Silk Pie. Both were good, but I think I will stick with my all-time favorites next time: Monkey Business, Blue Monster, and Coconut Cream Pie. Employees were friendly and patient, and there was plenty of outdoor seating on the side of the building. I love Handel's!!! read more

Handle's has become one of my top ice cream vendors. I love the enormous variety of flavors offered - with a number of them rotating. It makes me feel like I'm always able to get exactly what I want on any given day even if I land on my standard favorites most of the time. Their ice cream always hits the right notes on creaminess AND flavor (full-bodied and well-balanced flavors). During my most recent trip I discovered you can order a sampler - not on the menu, but where they'll throw any flour flavors of your choosing into a small serving tray. When it's so difficult to narrow down from the myriad of possibilities, this was the perfect indulgent option, even though I didn't make it all the way through the frozen feast! read more

I think if I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be ice cream. After eating Handel's ice cream it would always have to be some from them too. I went to the Orem location and it's so beautiful I wanted to just move in. The place is sparkling white. The servers look like old time soda jerks with their crisp white uniforms and their hats. I had one scoop of the Coconut and almost turned around to have them add another scoop it was that divine. I knew my husband loves ice cream as much as I do so I got a quart to go. I picked French Silk Pie. It's like a rich creamy pie but cold like ice cream. The perfect combination. I just found out they have a location down the street from me. That's the best news ever but I'm going to have to walk there and back to justify eating it. It's a touch pricey but every ingredient is natural. So pull over when you see a Handel's you won't be disappointed read more

Handel's has really creamy and delicious ice creams with a plethora of flavors that are all amazing. I had the blue monster and the oreo cookie dough and was very satisfied by the amount of cookie pieces that were in each bite. I'm a huge ice cream fan and I will definitely be back to try all the different flavors! Pro tip: don't forget to claim the 1 dollar off yelp check in! It can turn a double scoop price into a single scoop price! read more

It was so hard to choose an ice cream flavor there were so many amazing options! I got a milkshake with their buckeye ice cream. One of my friends got a brownie sundae that was HUGE! The brownie came out warm too. Another one of my friends tried the chocolate malt but it wasn't the best. The pricing was fair and we all enjoyed our ice cream. I will definitely be coming back here for ice cream again. read more

Bad news: I'm spoiled and can't go back to any other ice cream shop! Good news: Handles has THE tastiest dark chocolate ice cream Chocoholics Chunk (with dark chocolate pieces). I'm super picky about chocolate ice creams! It has to be balanced, not sickeningly sweet, and worth the calories. I also adore their coconut caramel delight. It has a mild caramel flavor with enough coconut to satisfy this coconut addict. Also, the coconut caramel cookies embedded inside were super yummy, and the whole blend reminded me of Girl Scout Samoa cookies. So, I paired it with the dark chocolate. HEAVEN!! -The cookie Oree dough-- smash hit with my kids who are cookie dough conisourres. The chunks we're small enough to not freeze the teeth, and the cookie dough flavor permeated the ice cream. -Brownie dough - so yummy with nice chunks of not too frozen brownies. -Monkey business-- so good with banana cake batter ice cream. We can't get back soon enough!! read more

Where to begin? Our date night experience here was PHENOMENAL. The facility is classy and clean, with giant menu signs and flavors listed above the serving counter! When we walked in, we were immediately helped by the nicest employee on the planet. He helped us select a flavor we would like, and rang up our order! He was so patient, and gave us full scoops! I got a single, and my husband got a double, and the total wasn't more than $11! What a steal! Then the ice cream itself Creamy, smooth, unique texture and rich flavor. It was even better than Brooker's- and we all know how much I love Brooker's. We will be back VERY soon to try more on the menu! One more note- my "Oree Dough" order was mixed beautifully. I can't quite explain it, you just have to try it!! read more

Very disappointed! I was here on Wednesday for my Yelp Elite Badge Day perk and it was such a pleasure. The worker was very nice and super helpful. This time was like a total 180. The sign outside clearly says "MASKS REQUIRED" but there were at least 6 people waiting in line that had no masks on or in their possession. I have posted photos but put emojis on their eyes to protect their identity. The workers were very frazzled and rude. We had a coupon but didn't realize that it was for the Lehi location. The worker yelled and pointed aggressively instead of just nicely notifying us. We were a little taken aback. She was frustrated and just asked "Do you even know what you want?" We had to quickly tell her. Thankfully they had the flavors we wanted. When we were at check out, the other customers surrounding us were maskless and they were having a hard time with the register. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but it looks like others have had similar rude employee experiences. read more

It doesn't surprise me at all that this place has a clean five stars! This ice cream is absolutely delicious - smooth, creamy, and large quantities. Ok... this place is legit. Honestly when we stepped inside I wasn't feeling it. Nothing wrong, just didn't get that vibe, the feeling I have when I'm about to eat something really good. ...... but dang. Their ice cream is amazing. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake, my girls ordered brownie dough, wife ordered chocolate peanut butter brownie. Each was uniquely impressive. This has to be the creamiest ice cream I've ever had. I think it's partly due to the fact that the temperature is perfect. Service was great, absolutely nothing but good things to say about our visit. I could go on and on. Better - we will just come back tomorrow before heading home to TX. We loved it read more

Wow! I didn't have the greatest expectations going to Handel's since I've not loved a bunch of the overpriced ice cream places that have been popping up lately. But I was surprised by Handel's! The main thing that impressed me was that I actually thought their ice cream was amazing! It was decidedly better in my experience than other premium handmade ice cream places in the area. I would definitely recommend giving Handel's a try! I was a little reluctant to give 5 stars instead of 4 because while the prices are fairly reasonable, there are lot of menu items that are still quite pricy. But because of how good the ice cream was I think 5 stars is deserved! read more

While Handel's ice cream is delicious and the service was fine, this location at 1405 S. State in Orem is filthy! Look closely. Delicious ice cream with plenty of variety. There is usually a line, so be prepared to wait. Good things take patience.

I'm sorry to all those who love to eat fresh, but this is a HUGE UPGRADE from the Subway that used to be there. It might seem like a small thing, but I love that they have a description of each ice cream flavor under the name. Other Handel's locations have had just the names. This is top notch ice cream. Wow. WOW wow wow wow wow wow wow wow. Somehow I managed to live here for 5 years and never discover this place? Now there are people that may not like Handel's. These people are ice cream haters and cannot be trusted. With a huge menu of fresh made ice creams in a variety of flavors, this is hands down my new favorite place. Sorry B&R you have been replaced. Add in a super friendly and helpful staff that's more then happy to let you try several flavors and that the prices are more than reasonable I will definitely be coming back here again and again! My only issue here is that everything is so delicious I don't know what to choose! read more
