Such friendly service. Encouraged us to try different flavors. This is an old time feeling ice cream shop (at least in my mind). They have normal flavors, but then some you wouldn't be easy for like The Goat. there were three of us, so we shared a flight. Just the right amount and a great way to have more than one flavor. It's the kind of place you can spend time with those close to you and just have happy time. read more

This place has some really creative flavors, and overall it's a great spot. A few of the ice creams I sampled were a bit too sweet for my taste, but The GOAT flavor definitely stood out, unique and delicious! Parking can be tough since it's limited on the street, but it's worth the stop if you're in the area and want something a little different. read more

Amazing experience this evening! The service was great and the line moved quickly. I got two January special flavors : the PB and the birthday bash. The birthday bash had the biggest chunks of cookie dough and brownie and was so creamy. It was the perfect texture! The peanut butter chocolate flavor was devious and I loved it! Rockewell has such nailed down the texture of their ice cream. It is so smooth and creamy. It's a MUST while in Provo! read more

I ordered two scoops: one of The G.O.A.T. and one of Huckleberry Maple. What I got was a culinary plot twist. Let's start with The G.O.A.T.--because it just might be. It's not your average scoop. This one starts with a smooth, tangy goat cheese base--creamy, slightly savory, and unexpectedly rich. Then come ribbons of blackberry-lemon jam, bright and jammy, cutting through the cream with a burst of sweet-tart complexity. Just when you think it's over, you get this crunch of rosemary-roasted almonds that adds this savory, herby depth that absolutely ties it all together. It's like if your favorite cheese plate went to culinary grad school and decided to moonlight as dessert. Wild. Brilliant. Then there's Huckleberry Maple. Unique flavors, delicious taste and friendly service. We parked out front of the ice cream store to go to the cafe next door and we were drawn into Rockwell by the delicious smell coming from inside. All throughout dinner I couldn't wait to get next door for dessert. Plenty of indoor seating. Friendly staff that greet you when you walk in and happy to let you sample the unique and delicious flavors. I ended up getting a limited edition flavor, the toffee popcorn flavor with delicious bits of toffee popcorn. It was 10/10 and I would def order again. Hubby got rockwell road which was a peanut butter base with chocolate and cookies bits. It was also incredibly tasty 10/10, I would order next time. read more

My family tried this place for the first time today, and we are absolutely coming back again! Immediately upon entering the shop, you're transported back in time by the delightfully sweet smells of a classic old fashioned ice cream parlor. The staff were very kind and quick. There was no line when we arrived and we had our ice cream in cups and paid for within a minute or two. My son got the cookies and cream flavor while my husband went with brown butter pecan. Both ice creams were thick, creamy, and absolutely delicious. My son's had varying sizes of cookie chunks mixed into the velvety smooth ice cream and my husband's had a rich brown butter flavor that paired perfectly with the pecan bits. We were really happy we stopped by and we can't wait to come back and try more flavors! Maybe next time I'll actually remember to take pictures of the ice cream. read more

Insane! INSANE, I tell you! So many good ice cream in such a fantastic venue, right next door to The Black Sheep Café. Go to Black Sheep for Dinner and then come here for dessert. My favorites are the Fresh Mint and the G.O.A.T. Goat cheese, rosemary, and berry ripple? Fresh mint in an ice cream that isn't green? Yes, they are both weird. Also amazing. There are so many awesome flavors that it's a good idea to go with someone you wouldn't mind sharing with. They do most willingly give samples, but you already know you'll want to share. read more

Definitely some of the best ice cream in Utah! So creamy, so smooth, so freaking delicious!! My second time here, I got the GOAT (goat cheese base, blackberry lemon jam, and rosemary roasted almonds), and honeycomb ice cream, YUM!! I tried other flavors and it was so hard to narrow it down. So excited to try this ice cream, a little disappointed in the reality. I love ice cream so much. My favourite dessert. I also make a pretty good ice cream. The flavours were really good. The honeycomb ice cream was out of this world. What let this ice cream down was the level of gum in it. When I spooned the ice cream it was sticky. The ice cream stretched out when spooned. OMG!!!! This ice cream is so yummy. Ice cream is not my go to treat but I needed some sugar and this place was walking distance. It was so yummy that this is all I have thought about for 4 days. I had the honeycomb on a sugar cone. If I'm ever back in the area I'm definitely going back! It was a little pricey for just one scoop but it was amazing. read more

Dairy-free option as of 12/20 was pina colada. It was sweet and creamy! All of the other options looked delicious and fancy, but we were there for the dairy free. We got a "single" and it was plenty for two people to share. read more

I love me a good ice cream place, especially when they have unique flavors. I got one scoop of honeycomb ice cream and it was delicious. It had honeycomb candy pieces in it, which I loved. They were delicious. I loved how soft the ice cream was as well. The hubs got the s'mores ice cream in a cookie cone, which I thought was unique. It was really good too. I would give this 4.5 stars, actually. It was very good, lives up to the hype. Their signature flavor is the The G.O.A.T., a rich goat cheese base with blackberry, lemon jam swirls and honey rosemary roasted almonds. I didn't sample it as I abhor goat cheese. I'm glad I didn't, because the man in line behind me did and told me it was definitely very goat cheesy. Sounds absolutely intriguing, though. The flavors I had were: Honey Comb, vanilla ice cream with chunks of honey comb Rockwell Road, dark chocolate ice cream, almond brittle, marshmallow swirls I really liked them both, BUT, I compare the honey comb ice cream to the one I have here back home in Tucson made by The Screamery and it isn't quite as good. Seems like the honeycomb flavor is a bit too over powering here. Rockwell's version of Rocky Road was pretty good, especially if you like dark chocolate ice cream. I found the ratio of almond brittle and the marshmallow swirl to be a bit off, and the flavors were a bit distracting to the overall taste. I should have gotten the Mint Chocolate, "Fresh Mint Leaf Ice Cream, Semi sweet chocolate straticella". That was a wonderful flavor with the mint leaf. So different. Rockwell puts plenty of buttercream in their ice cream for a wonderful creaminess. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs! read more

Amazing flavors of super creamy homemade ice cream with lots of STUFF in it ! I like my ice cream with pieces of fruits, nuts, candies in it and this place was AMAZING !!!!! I had "the Goat " which is goat cheese flavored ice cream with huckleberries and rosemary flavored almonds... and Rockwell Rocky Road which was rocky road with huge pieces of toffee candy in it !!! Such a fun ice cream parlor with plenty of cool, air conditioned room inside. We were greeted and helped promptly and offered samples and suggestions. My little one got strawberry ice cream and I tried the GOAT and OH MAN! It was good!!! My husband hates goat cheese and loved the rich, vibrant flavor of this ice cream. Very unique with hints of rosemary and the crunch from the almonds. The goat cheese gives it the idea of cheesecake. I would definitely order again! read more

Cookies and cream ice cream was really good that I got, but felt more like vanilla ice cream with not a ton of cookies and cream. Would love to have some cookie with every bite. The other flavors seem more filled, but by the end of my biscoff (started out great) it basically felt like all biscoff and very little ice cream. Maybe just making sure the filling is incorporated more evenly would help. just think the cookies and cream could use more filling and maybe a little more balance in the biscoff/ice cream ratio in certain parts. A couple times, I do feel like some of the workers could be more friendly, Some are, some not as much. Still great flavors that are fun/creative and creamy ice cream! read more

The inside was pretty cool! The staff was friendly and nice. They were patient and offered great suggestions and explanations. I got the the honeycomb flavor. It was great flavor and the honey was pretty tasty. If you're a straight-up honey lover this is the flavor for you. I think it would be better tasting with real honeycomb. It was also a lot of sugar so I did feel a little sugar high lol. Also, I'm not sure I like the price of almost $6 for one scoop. read more

We came as a big group and ordered so many different ice creams - the goat (with goat cheese), honeycomb, banana nut, eggnog, regular sundaes. And just wow! All the flavors tasted like they were handcrafted as a certain flavor and everything was so unique and delicious. I can see why there was such a big crowd there because the ice cream is high quality and pretty amazing. I will be coming back here the next time I'm visiting town. read more

We got this delicious pizookie! It came out hot and ready and was divine to eat. It can get busy so make sure you know what you want as you get up to the counter. During the beginning of Covid, they have not been doing samples but I think they are doing them again. You can also order pints and quarts and I love to do that for my favorite flavors. read more

Rockwell's is the perfect date night location! We love going out for some quality ice cream that never disappoints. My favorite flavor has quickly become the cookies and cream as it's loaded with Oreos, and my husband will forever love their fresh strawberry ice cream, made with 5 lbs of fresh strawberries!! This time around we branched out and got the pizookie with cookies and cream and muddy buddy ice cream. The ice cream was creamy, delicious and perfect as usual, but neither of us loved the cookie. For $9, we felt like it was a little too thin and slightly underwhelming. Otherwise, the atmosphere and service was spot on tonight! Be sure to take home some start up candy co candies for later too! For parking after 6pm we like to park at Central Bank and walk through the double back doors straight to Rockwell's. It's our secret parking spot, so be sure not to tell anybody else about it! read more

The ice cream here is super creamy and thick, definitely high quality. I got the biscoff and cookies and cream, although I wanted to try the mint but it had been in contact with peanuts. The biscoff was amazing -- it was packed with biscoff pieces and was delicious. The cookies and cream wasn't my favorite. I couldn't really taste the cookies and the vanilla base was quite milky which I didn't enjoy too much. Portions are quite generous and they let you get 2 flavors in a single scoop :). Would definitely come back to try more flavors, though! read more

I saw on their Instagram that they were doing a blueberry honey biscoff and HAD to try it. Literally all my favorite things into ice cream. It was delicious. I had my husband pick it up for me and specifically told him to get me a scoop of "Blueberry Honey Biscoff". The worker got a little confused because and gave me some "blueberry biscoff" and "honey biscoff" - so my only set back for five stars, know the names of the special flavors :) read more

I'm almost wondering if the sf flavors are a gimmick to make you feel like you're choosing, when in actuality they just whip up cold milk. Part of the experience is they make the ice cream in front of you, but aside from adding a little stevia I'm not sure what all went into my ice cream. When I got home and tried a scoop it just tasted like whole milk. I was super disappointed because I got a large! I'm torn between giving the sf option another shot or just writing it off forever. (Gotta use "chill" and "cool" when talking about an ice cream place, right?) Just by the entrance and under the stair case is a comfy cubby with two or three high rise tables and chairs. A cozy place to eat your ice cream with a nice window view of the entryway and the street. Then there is the upstairs. You go up a long spiral staircase (there's a landing halfway up) to go to the upper room. Pretty cool. Good view of the Provo Temple across the street. Fun place to eat your ice cream. The employee was not only friendly but you could tell she enjoyed her job. She had fun every time she had to make the ice cream. She told you all about it, too. So on the to ice cream. I had a mix in from the menu, Key Lime pie. Lime-flavored ice cream with bits of cheesecake and something else. It was OK, but I bordered on not liking it. It didn't remind of Key lime pie. We also bought a few other things (cookies and cream milk, chocolate chip banana bread), and everything was yummy. The wait is very long for both food and ice cream, and somehow there aren't enough tables (even though there are a lot of them). It's quite crowded, too. More parking, but it is very narrow between the rows. I didn't park my truck there because of it. But parking is accessible at the Music School across the street for a very easy walk.
