Looking at their website, I had a feeling this company would probably provide excellent services, as it is well laid out and full of information. It includes general information on pests and of course the services they provide to combat them. I opted for their insect service, as well as their rodent service. Karrie did and has been doing a great job communicating with me and scheduling my services. Erik who's been the one conducting the pest control service itself, has been great and has been doing an awesome job. For the rodent service(s), he pointed to and showed me vulnerable spots around my home (including going on the roof) that could lead to a rodent intrusion. After his inspection, he provided a comprehensive and detailed report on what would need to be done to eliminate the infestation. As for the insect service, he also didn't mind answering many of my questions on what I can do myself to help prevent or at least mitigate future infestations. After a few weeks, I've noticed much less rat droppings. One spot that had the biggest rat feces has none after his service. I also haven't seen a brown widow since he sprayed the exterior of my home. And finally, every crawling insect I've seen inside my home since the spraying has been found dead, which means the spray is working. Good businesses communicate pricing upfront and obtain customer approval before billing. After disputing the charge, I was threatened with having the account reported to collections and negatively affecting my credit. I also had concerns about whether the service was actually performed as claimed. Because of these concerns, I filed a complaint and requested documentation showing the work that was completed. I believe customers deserve transparency, clear communication, and proof of services before being billed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

During the process, I came in contact with about a half dozen team members, all of whom were friendly, professional, and personally concerned with our wellbeing. That was important because I found that ridding a home of rodents is not easily achieved. The initial step was to survey the house, seal potential entry sites, then set the traps. The HS team completed the process and set up an appointment to check the traps. after a couple visits, we still heard the vermin scratching around. So, HS brought in a senior inspector who found a few open areas I never would have thought to identify (openings between the outside wall and the foundation that were tucked up underneath the visible area). Those areas were sealed and within ten days, we no longer heard anything. I check of the traps today revealed a large intruder had been eliminated. Home shield performed like partners in our quest to eliminated rodents from our home. They came back as often as needed without complaint and escalated appropriately to assure our problem was solved. And importantly, they never once questioned our reports of hearing critters.

He was patient, explained the different treatment options clearly, and even showed us how to tell the difference between termite droppings and droppings from other pests. A week later, Tony and his father came to replace the damaged wood and perform the chemical treatment. They did an excellent job with everything--the wood repairs, painting, and termite treatment were all done very carefully. They also cleaned up all the dust and debris afterward, so we didn't have to clean up anything ourselves. Great work, reasonable pricing, and very professional service. Expensive but not something you can ignore so we booked in with TP for a 2 night fumigation with trenching the day after they took the tent down. While everyone in person and on the phone was friendly they were very disorganized and gave conflicting advice, which we found frustrating. We expected special bags for our fridge/freezer foodstuffs but none was given so we had to clear our appliance out completely. We were given different dates and times, and received phone calls telling us the crew were on the way earlier, a week beforehand, and on the day of fumigation, then they called back to say they made a mistake and it was the original time. Hence the frustration as we were dealing with a dog, and my daughter working from home and being in office. We asked the company to call me only as my daughter couldn't answer her phone when on stage/office, but they kept on calling her and expecting instant answers. We were also told we had to contact the gas company to arrange shut off and turn on, then we were told TP would be doing it, then we were told to call the gas company at the last minute. They really need to communicate within their own business and work out a timeframe for fumigation so they can provide a consistent front to customers. They kept the house tidy when going into the crawl space in one of our bedroom closets, but outside they tread mud all over the walkway down the side of the house while putting up the tent and I had to clean the pathway afterwards.
