Ronnie ordered a Bash Shake: peanut butter and I ordered a Bash Special - the brownie ice-cream cup (sundae). We waited less than 3 min. Ok, this is my second review of this place (first was on a different platform). This is ONLY about their "Dubai Cups". Their value has been going downhill every time we've gone there. We're finally done. The amount of chocolate, pistachio cream, and kanafeh had been decreasing consistently. Even when we asked for extra chocolate, it was definitely not the full extra serving that matched what they charged us (the menu lists the "build your own" price for a serving of each ingredient... and it wasn't double the amount of chocolate). Also, the "large" size is now 12 ounces and the "small" size 10 ounces, instead of 16oz and 12oz previously. So they've dropped an entire size... and still skimped on the chocolate. After tax and tip it was $33 for a 12 oz Dubai cup with (supposedly) extra chocolate. What??!! The flavors are fine (hence two stars) but the value is obnoxiously bad... even for a "trendy" snack. We're going to find someplace else, or find the best ingredients to make our own. read more

OK, this is a 4.5 that I'm rounding up because the service was SO friendly! We stopped in for a post-dinner anniversary night treat, and shared: "Brownies Ice-Cream Cup $9.99 A heavenly combination of warm, chocolatey brownie bites, creamy ice-cream, and fluffy whipped cream." We got it with strawberry ice cream and dark chocolate. The gal working was really personable and gave us great suggestions and it was hard to make this decision! ;) The strawberry ice cream went so well with the warm brownies - perfection. My only complaint is that the chocolate was very similar to magic shell and hardened on the ice cream - I would've preferred more of a hot fudge texture and temperature. Once we figured out where we were going, it was easy to park. Chocolate Bash is one of those places where there are almost too many choices! They have ice cream! They have crepes! You can customize a crepe, pancakes, or mini pancakes! It's a dessert-lover's dream. We opted for the mini pancakes with dark chocolate and cookie-butter cookie crumbs, which were delicious. Everything is made to order, as you want it, so I got to watch the employee making the tiny pancakes. We split an order which was about right for an after dinner treat, though I could see you could order something larger if you wanted to indulge. I first discovered Chocolate Bash randomly when I was in Escondido, and I fell in love with the Dubai chocolate bars that I got from there. I was so thrilled when I found out that there was a Chocolate Bash opened in San Jose. I stopped by one weekend day after my event that was in the area. I ended up getting two chocolate bars (Dubai Chocolate and Cookie Butter) and a brownie square. I absolutely love the Cookie Butter one! It was crunchy, sweet, and yummy. The other one was good too and so was the brownie square. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is cute and clean-looking. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, the price does come in steep at around $18 but it's a nice once in a while sweet treat. I've never had Dubai chocolate on its own previously, but I think the strawberries add the perfect level of tartness to what would otherwise become a bit overwhelming in terms of sugar levels for me! The trick is to get the right ratio of chocolate to strawberry in each bite. I can definitely see why it has become a viral sensation online. The combination of a classically known sweet (milk chocolate) with less commonly used ingredients in the Western world (knafeh and tahini paste) definitely add to its intrigue. The texture is creamy, flaky, and fleshy due to the different components in this. I'd definitely come back to try more of their dishes and to order the same thing again. read more

Cute dessert shop in a quiet neighborhood, but for the price, I expected a bit higher quality. We got the fruit platter with chocolate dip to share, but the fruit was cut into very uneven pieces (e.g. strawberry and kiwi pieces so small that it was difficult to skewer them, huge pineapple pieces that were unwieldy to eat), some of the blueberries were squishy, an the pineapple was super super underripe. Logistically, the chocolate fondue was a cute idea, but didn't work. The top third was cold, the middle third was warm and melty as intended, and the bottom third quickly burned even after we realized what was happening and extinguished the candle. I'm excited to have a spot to grab a Dubai Pistachio Chocolate Bar! But keep in mind the day and time you visit... I first saw this place on Instagram. Some other foodies and Yelp Elites were posting about it but I decided to wait before visiting immediately. A few weeks later I saw this place again on TikTok. I wanted to wait longer to try it out, but I figured I better try them out sooner than later. I noticed that new places usually open for a few weeks, read feedback, and then close for a bit to revamp things. When we went to the plaza, we could already see from the street that there was a long line that was going out the door, so one person went in line while I went to park the car. After walking in, we noticed there were not only a lot of people in line but there were also a lot of people just waiting around inside and outside waiting for their orders. This made us a little nervous since we had no idea how long the wait would have been. We ordered a Cookie Butter Chocolate Bar (they ran out of the Pistachio Chocolate Bars), a Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup, a Hot Turkish Coffee, Brownie Bites, and a Brownie Ice Cream Cup. Now was the time we had to wait. We ended up having to wait outside because inside was so packed and crowded. And unfortunately, it was a cold night to be waiting outside, but we had nowhere else to wait. We were thinking of waiting in the car, but they were calling out names when orders were ready so we had no choice but to wait outside in front. As we were waiting outside, we were observing the workers and wondering why orders were taking so long to come out. Here are some things we noticed: 1) With the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup being the most popular item, of course, it was the main item that was coming out. The issue was that they would run out of strawberries pretty fast after putting the orders together. They had a large bucket of strawberries that would run out fast and it looks like the issue was that someone needed to cut the strawberries every time they would run out. OUR SUGGESTION would be for them to have the strawberries already cut at least a few hours before. If not, then they should have 1 person designated to cut strawberries WHILE orders are being fulfilled. 2) They only had 1 order fulfillment screen. So when workers are trying to look at orders, they seem to have a hard time getting to the screen since ALL workers need to look at the same small screen. 3) It seems like the prep area is only in the front and it looked like the workers were continuously bumping into each other or squeezing in between their coworkers to get what they needed to fulfill orders. OUR SUGGESTION would be for some of the prep areas to be in the back so not all the workers are congested in 1 area. 4) We understand that this place is still new so they may not have all the resources to implement suggestions or accommodations, but OUR SUGGESTION that we think would be helpful would be for orders to be linked to customer phone numbers so customers can wait in their cars and not have to wait outside when there's no room inside. In total, we waited about 50 minutes for our order. The Cookie Butter Chocolate Bar was just okay. I was hoping to get the Pistachio Chocolate Bar, but I'll try to get it another day when they have more. The coffee was just okay, it seemed to be missing sugar. Brownie Bites were good and Brownie Ice Cream Cup was good as well. With the Dubai Strawberry Chocolate Cup, it was also good but I feel like they could've added more chocolate and I wished they layered the strawberries and pistachio/knafeh cream. It seemed like it was only on the top and not in the middle or bottom. I think something that would be cool is if you could choose the type of chocolate! For example, choosing milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate. Overall, we weren't extremely impressed, especially with how much we paid and how long we waited. I'm hoping to come back after a few months when things have improved and the hype has calmed down. But I'm glad that we visited early because I did see on social media that they ran out of pistachio cream so they were unable to sell the strawberry cups. read more

Ambiance is cute, and they have games at this shop while you wait.
