The food is incredible and the service is great. I love it so much. It's the best sushi place in Baltimore. I am so happy it's still there after the panini

Came here after happy hour pretty decent service. The Wong crab Rangoon's were good, California, and the luxury roll, and the beauty, Alaska roll. There's only one of the guest in there, and they had to pick up. Food didn't take very long all in all solid sushi and Ramen place to attend. Ambience is pretty chill. Would I come back, yes.

I have been coming to Chiu's for over year. My family and I love it here. If you do not get the Amazing Tuna with the Cilantro sauce you are missing out! The place is inviting and the staff is absolutely wonderful! We have tried so many rolls and all of them are consistently fresh and balanced. Just to name a few of our favorites. Of course Amazing tuna roll, Spicy Shirley roll, Bruce roll, crazy tuna, and honestly anything with yellowtail. The location would make you think it's crazy touristy, but it's just a great place with wonderful service and great food.

My favorite sushi place in all of Baltimore. They have the best rolls and everything I've tried has been excellent. I order from here at least once a month and by now I have my order on lock down. The service is amazing, I never had a bad time. The avocado roll is the best thing I've ever had in my life. Since I discovered them I haven't stopped getting them every time

It is a very humble place in this area of town. Linda is very nice, she made me feel like home. The food was great. I don't like salmon with sweet sauce so I'm okay with the teriyaki salmon, though my friend like it very much. The dragon roll was very good, the combination of eel and avocado is awesome. As recommended by Linda, the salmon belly was very fresh and I enjoyed it very much. Will definitely come again.

Food was delicious! Absolutely loved the gyoza, and sushi rolls I got (shrimp tempura and asparagus and mushroom). I also got to try the tempura banana roll which was so yummy! Service was great and nice atmosphere!

I really thought this place was yummy. I think something key that people should remember when ordering delivery is that the delivery driver tosses the food into their passenger seat and your display may get messed up, sauces may slide all over, and a 20 minute drive in a steamy container can do some damage to the presentation of your sushi. That being said, I dined in, was the only one for a while, and got pristine attention and a BEAUTIFUL display. I mean truly above and beyond. A little bonsai tree was added to the display. Compliments to the young sushi chef in the back. I liked my sushi, and LOVED my full, thick, miso soup. I mean the soup had plenty tofu and plenty seaweed. I would be back to dine in.

This is hands down my favorite sushi place in Baltimore. Convenient located adjacent to Whole Foods. They have both cooked and raw rolls. My favorite is the dragon roll. The ambience is cozy and the service is good. I always make it a point grab a meal here when I'm in town.

Shoyou seemed to have good reviews so we walked in without reservations. Looking at the menu we thought oh the three of us can easily demolish 2 regular maki rolls and maybe 3 special rolls. Nope. We had so much leftovers! And everything tasted so good! Its aptly priced. If you are getting a special roll it will be at least 4 to 8 pieces depending on what you get. My favorite of the special rolls was actually the spider roll which was made with softshell crab(and not pictured as it was promptly devoured) Would recommend if you're in the Baltimore area and want to support a local restaurant in a nice neighborhood. I also noticed they did the same for other tables, which really shows how much they care about the experience. I ordered four pieces in order from left to right: the maguro, albacore, sea bream, and toro. The maguro truly melted in my mouth. The albacore was delicious with a surprisingly generous portion. The sea bream was probably my least favorite of the lineup but still very good. The toro was easily my personal favorite, and I could have eaten 100 of those. Each order comes with two pieces which made trying different options even better. I also got the baked mussels and wowowowow they were so good. I genuinely wanted to order another round but I was already full. This is the closest spot I have found to an omakase style experience without actually doing a full omakase. It has more flavor, great presentation, and a little extra dazzle instead of just plain fish on rice. The only downside was that parking was a bit tough, but it was absolutely worth it for the quality of the meal. Highly recommend!

I also had a 22 oz. can of Sapporo premium beer, which was also on happy hour for $7.50. Both the bagel roll and California roll were $6 on happy hour as well. I highly recommend the Volcano Roll (HH $12), which had 6 pieces of salmon and tuna top with a spicy mayo and eel sauce. We initially sat outside, but once it started raining, they helped us bring everything inside. The hostess was very kind and our server was excellent. In terms of the ambiance, there is not much indoor and outdoor seating. It seems like they mainly do take out. Also, street parking can be limited.

Clean, pretty restaurant, fresh food and delightful staff. Staff, Eswuin the young Server is one of the best I've come across. He reads his customers well. The staff are friendly and attentive. The raw sushi is pretty authentic and tasty. Portions are fair and price point is reasonable. The menu had a good variety and I feel like there's something for everyone. Raw sushi, cooked sushi (ala carte pieces, rolls); fried items, salads, soups, sashimi, pokebowls, noodles (stir fried, soup); japanese pancakes (okonomiyaki) and different beverages, etc. Quite a few times I've gotten the Deluxe Chirashi Sushi before, both dining-in the restaurant and through take-out orders with DoorDash. It was super awesome and has to be my favorite! It's a bowl of sushi rice with different vegetables (varies: kale, mixed greens, cucumber, radish/ daikon, avocado, micro greens) and colorful delicate slices of seafood (both raw and cooked: tuna/ ahi, seared tuna, white tuna/ escolar, salmon, yellowtail/ japanese amberjack/ hamachi, mackerel, shrimp/ ebi, egg/ tamago, crab stick, fish eggs/ tobiko). It's definitely like a treasure box from the sea. I get so happy when I see this dish! It's almost too pretty to eat! XD I've also tried a few different rolls like: Baked Salmon Philly Roll "Oven cooked salmon, cream cheese, avocado, spicy mayo, sweet sauce" (baked in a foil packet), Eel Cucumber Roll (Unagi), Maryland Real Crab Roll "real crab mix with Japanese mayo, old bay, avocado, cucumber crunch flakes, wrapped with soy paper, special sauce", 3 Roll Combo (Spicy or Regular: California Roll, Tuna Roll and Salmon Avocado Roll). The Spicy Cali Roll was amazing!!!I've also tried the Seafood Pancake (okonomiyaki) "made with wheat flour batter, shredded cabbage, onions, carrots, squash and okonomi sauce, Japanese mayo, on top and shrimp, clams, and mussels". What I really like is how well packed the take-out orders are! They Miso Soup is wrapped in saran wrap to make sure it doesn't spill. There's a piece of carsboard under the soups to make sure they lay flat. The Miso Soup is also very flavorful with lots of tofu and seaweed inside, not watered down with no flavor. The sushi rolls are packed in clear boxes efficiently and with good presentation! I recommend to definitely check this place out! You won't be disappointed (: I can't wait till I order sushi from here again!

Putting that aside, I actually think the food at Yoya is pretty decent! Pre-made sushi is never going to taste like sushi you would get at a sit down restaurant but it's still pretty good (and I actually do think that they roll everything fresh in the morning). The checkout place where you pay even gives you free eel sauce or spicy mayo if you ask for it, which in itself tells you they're not messing around, they want you to enjoy your food and that's all you can really expect from any restaurant/food place. The ramen isn't bad either for pre-made/ready to order ramen, I actually think it tastes really good and comes as a large portion. Yoya also does some poke bowls which are pretty standard as far as poke bowls go, although I WILL say that they can be really expensive if you're making a custom one, so just stick to the "specials". They also do lunch rice bowl specials for every day of the week, all of which I like! (Yes.... I have tried them all... and yes, basically 1/3 of my credit card statement every month is Yoya purchases) My favorite thing though, unexpectedly, is the grilled salmon salad that they have every day in the pre-made cooler. It is located in the bottom left corner of the cooler on the left. I have no idea what the dressing is that's in the salad, some sort of lemon vinaigrette or something, but it's amazing, like I would buy a bottle of it if I could! The salmon piece is generally pretty large and cooked well. When your food options in the hospital are limited and you're looking for something fresh/sallad-y, I highly recommend this salad, or anything really from Yoya!

I came as part of a large group dinner. I appreciate that they took large reservations and sat us in a nice spot in the middle of the restaurant. The server was nice and patient, but I did notice his jacket smelled like cigaret smoke. I asked what to get, since the menu is *huge* and overwhelming (I'm not sure why sushi, steak and pad Thai are on the same menu?). He recommended sushi, so I got a flaming dragon roll (I forget the exact name). Anyways, everyone else also ordered and the food came relatively quickly. Now...when I tell you this is the worst sushi I've ever had. Again, I hate being negative but I have to tell it like it is! When they first presented the dish, it was cool because they serve it on fire. I knew that they had sake in the dish (probably so the flame can keep going after they take it out of the kitchen). However, when I bit into it, the sake was *extremely* overpowering. I couldn't taste anything else except the sake. It was extremely alcohol-heavy and I could not finish the dish. I asked others to try it, and they all agreed that it was too heavy. The prices were also very high for what we got. The only food I enjoyed were the appetizers, but they were still unremarkable. Overall, I regrettably cannot recommend this place. None of the dishes stood out, and the sushi was shocking.

All of my dining companions were first time visitors and sadly none would return. Everything started off great. The staff were welcoming and offered the birthday boy a champagne toast at a time of his choosing during the dinner. Our drink orders were put in and it all went seemingly down hill from there. It wasn't particularly crowded but it took a while for cocktails to arrive. I tried "the lift off" and it looked like watery chocolate milk in a low glass. It didn't taste much better. Forty minutes later appetizers finally came. I had oysters, a few others had crab cakes so there was nothing that would account for that wait time. Apps were pretty good so I'll give a few stars. Then came an over one hour plus wait for our entrees to arrive. We watched the dining room fill, and a VIP football players private party arrive. Our server made herself scarce during our wait. We could hear others chattering about the wait, but the staff seemed to wiz by with little to no eye contact. It was all about the private party while the rest of us waited with dirty dishes in front of us and barely full glasses. Once entrees did finally make their way it was disorganized. As a few people cut into their NY Strips they would figure out it was given to the wrong person. So the birthday boy got to start his meal with a cut into steak from a nearby family member. They forgot his side but it eventually came. Then to add insult to injury my 20oz bone in ribeye arrive with about 4oz missing! I dine across the globe in many steakhouses and know that cut was not up to par. The manager did discount the price for the mistake but it's shocking that a steakhouse of this caliber would present that in the first place. 4 of the steaks were incorrect temperatures even after the musical steaks debacle but no one was willing to wait another hour so just kept them. All in all it was a disappointing dinner and I feel bad for having suggested it for my brothers dinner party.
