Located next to Panera. No ambiance - there's a small counter to eat at with stools, but there's a bunch of storage stuff out so it's not very inviting. No tables to eat at - truly meant for takeout. Yesssss! I really enjoyed the delicious, nicely crisped, expertly prepared crab rangoon wantons I ordered via Door Dash delivery. The wantons are made with real crab meat, which is surprising but refreshing to know. The crab rangoon is an excellent appetizer. I actually could order 3 rounds of these and call it a day! The Google reviews looked overall good (the Yelp, now that I look, are worse) and I didn't immediately see any complaints so I placed an order. The sushi prices were reasonable, the wait was short, and it's conveniently located, but that's about thee best I can say. I ordered the pretty basic California roll and spicy tuna rolls, they were very small rolls (diameter), the rice was unpleasantly dry and they just weren't great. The best thing about it was the pickled ginger, which hey, who doesn't enjoy a spicy bite, but if that's the highlight, we've got a problem. On the hunt for some Chinese in my area (Towson) so stopped by Sushi Ichiban. General Tso's chicken & shrimp w/ broccoli are popular dishes in my opinion so we decided to try both. Of the two, the General Tso chicken was my fave! The chicken was flavorful and the spice level was nice. The dish is cooked spicy however we requested the dish be made with very mild spice for my fiancés sake. Wondering how potent the flavor would be if cooked how the restaurant intended for it to taste. Now the shrimp and broccoli, the dish was tossed in a Brown sauce I can't recall at the moment. The flavor was alright, could have used a flavor boost. And then there's the cheesesteak egg rolls. Was disappointed to bite into them and there was more cabbage than steak and cheese. Overall, the food was okay. Still on the hunt for Chinese food! 11/29/21 - Decided to give Sushi Ichiban another try. This time, solely for the Sushi. Wow I've lived a few miles from this place in several directions for as long as I can remember. I always thought of it as "the place next to Panera" but I somehow have *never* gone here...until now. We try to eat meat and dairy free and have had no problem finding plenty to eat. My go to is one of their tofu or vegetable curries - they have really nice flavors and I enjoy the texture of the fried tofu. My family likes the Szechuan dinner special (with tofu) and the sushi - we like the sticky rice too. A gem for sushi and Chinese take out First off, the service is amazing. The woman working the counter/answering the phones is always polite and friendly. Never seemed to have a bad day. The food is always prepared by promised time. The sushi is really good, and most importantly, they deliver consistent quality. I've never had bad sushi from them. Not only that but their prices are the lowest in the area for sushi. The rice is good. The ingredients always taste fresh. The Chinese take out is also good. I wouldn't say the have the top best sushi or Chinese food you'll have in your life but they definitely are a favorite and I'm a weekly regular. I eat take out a lot and this place is hands down #1 on the list for customer service. The server (possibly the owner) has a great memory. The hot and sour soup was good and tasted as it should. The sushi and miso soup was average at best and nothing to remember. The pork dumpling tasted like boiled pot stickers, the dough was thick and overwhelmed the pork. The worst item we had was the drunken noodles. This dish had some sort of peanut sauce on it and a bunch of sad stuck together noodles in it. There was carrot and chunks of green pepper the size of golf balls. However the worst part was that it had CELERY in it. Yes, you read that right: celery. We have had drunken noodles all over the US and this was the worst example of drunken noodles. This place has very good customer service and the food is some of the best Chinese food in the area. My son doesn't like it as much as I, but I find that they make most of their dishes with a lot of flavor and the rice is nearly perfect - just like I like it. There was one time I wasn't satisfied with an order and they didn't make a fuss about it. They asked me if I wanted them to remake it. I told them no and they gave me my money back. Simple as that! All with an apology and a smile. There's nothing like not being happy with an order and being given a hard time about it, but the customer service here is really good. They could smile a little bit more but I'm satisfied that they seem to be just nice people. I'll support that and I'll support any restaurant that respects ALL peoples' money. This is one of those "is what it is" places. It's next to a Panera Bread and between the Target and Walmart located in Towson. If the area was a strip mall, this would be where you would go after doing your shopping. The menu has a ton of options but none of which jump out at you. I wandered in here one evening confused on what to eat but wanted something light so I went with the Shrimp with steamed veggies (minus broccoli). The price was fairly reasonable and the taste was fairly bland but I wasn't expecting anything different. The patrons that came in and out spoke very highly of the sushi and since it was made right in front of you, it did seem to be a good amount of pieces offered for the prices on the menu so that may determine whether this place keeps a 3 star or falls to a 2 star. read more

Moved to Baltimore for a 6 week long school/work placement, and like every new city, I have to find a new go to sushi delivery spot. I've ordered from here now twice, and I have to say, I'm glad that I have found my sushi delivery place while in Baltimore! First time I got the sushi, sashimi, & salmon avocado roll combo dinner, which came with a very generous portion of miso soup and a very small (soy sauce container sized) seaweed salad. I would have NEVER believed that such fresh fish for the sashimi and nigiri could come from a delivery sushi restaurant! The portions were generous, with a good rice to fish ratio for the rolls and nigiri. The salmon sashimi melted in my mouth like butter, leaving the perfect mouth taste and feel. A sort of "sushi was here." sort of parting message, if you will. The second time was not quite as successful, but that was more my fault for poor ordering. I got the Ebi Tempura maki under the specialty roll section, thinking it would be some variation of a shrimp tempura roll made even tastier. What I got was a a large, futomaki-sized roll with steamed shrimp, cream cheese and lettuce on the inside, the whole roll was tempura flash fried, and spicy mayo with eel sauce was drizzled on top. Had I know that this is what was inside the roll, I wouldn't have gotten it. Perhaps a great option for individuals who are trying out sushi for the first time and prefer cooked rolls rather than the ones with raw fish, or those who prefer a more "Americanized" sushi experience. It probably tastes better when ordered in the restaurant rather than delivered as well, but it was not my cup of tea. I will say, however, that the tempura was perfectly coated, not too thin or too thick, with a great crunch and flavor. The other roll I got was the Tokyo roll, which all but redeemed my poor ordering skills w/ the Ebi tempura roll. It was SO. GOOD. Crunchy tempura flakes mixed with spicy salmon inside and rainbow roll-style raw salmon, avocado, tuna and flying fish roe on top. Great crunchy inside with a bite from the spicy combo, and that buttery finish with the pieces of fish and avocado on top. I recommend this place HIGHLY, esp for the nigiri, sashimi, and more raw-fish fare. read more
