Yay their hours change back to 8-6. Service is always fast and friendly! It's hard to pass on the various dim sum and bakery options. Can't go wrong with any of them. Cash only!

4/5- affordable and tasty. What's not to love? The hot dog pastry was good, bao is great, and the sesame balls are to die for. I'll be back just for those honestly. Service is quick but there isn't a place to sit inside so either take it home or you can eat outside standing like we did :)

Chui Quonset Bakery is a great spot for authentic Asian baked goods. We tried a variety--almond cookie, small apple pie, steamed BBQ pork bun, regular BBQ pork bun, and ham and cheese bun. Everything was fresh and tasty! Good quality at great prices. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area and craving some delicious buns or pastries.

heaven heaven heaven. the best pastries I've ever had in my entire life. the buns are so fluffy and light. the egg custard is so creamy. the bbq pork bun has rewired my brain. I can't be in the argyle area without going in and getting at least one. it calls to me like a siren song

Visited my brother in law in Chicago and walked over to this bakery on Argyle street. I had the pork dumplings! Every day.. had to visit until I left the city. The lady behind the counter was kind. She warmed it for us on request. Prices are reasonable. The area is a bit shady. :). It's located about 1/2 block west of Argyle subway entrance. Heavy construction. There was no vehicle traffic and the Argyle train station was closed. We also had the bean and almond cookies. I travelled with that pack of cookies. It's a sleeve so perhaps 24 cookies for less than $3.50. My mom loves Asian almond cookies and was not disappointed. :) Difficult to find Asian bakeries in my area. I live in lake worth. Next time I am in Chicago, i will definitely re-visit this shop. Amazing pastries! Thank you!!

Yummy no-nonsense pastries - great for a grab and go quick breakfast or snack. Efficient service.

Fast pace. Very good Portuguese egg tart. Reasonably priced. No seating. Just some standing table. They offer variety of bakery goods.

Egg custard pineapple bun (it was so good that I ate most of it before remembering to take a picture)

Got the egg custard pineapple bun and was very happy with it! Super yummy, with a good filling to bread ratio. Most of the sweetness comes from the filling. The bo lo topping is more of a crunchy crumbly texture addition, with a little bit of saltiness and not a lot of sweetness. I think this balances out the flavors very well. The employees are super nice. The bakery was less busy than last time I visited, and there were more options available- perhaps Sunday afternoons are typically a bit sleepier. Nice vibes overall.

This is a no-frills bakery. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the goods on the inside are totally legit. The first thing you need to know that this is a cash only establishment....peridot! There is no cash machine in there, so come prepared. Second, this is a small shop, and it can get crowded real fast. Third, the prices are crazy low! The most expensive item in the front case this morning was $2.10. That said, the pastries in here are just lovely. My personal favorites are the steamed and baked BBQ pork and the ham/cheese. When first introduced to char siu bao, I was totally into the steamed version. The baked ones I had tried at other places, and I didn't care for them...too much bread and not enough filling. The place does the right. The bread is very soft and the coloring on the top is a lovely brown. The filling inside is not as chunky as others I have had. It is almost like a pulled pork, which I like a lot. I love the steamed buns a lot, but I realize that the texture of the bread is not for everyone. A lot of people that I have tried to introduce to it think that it is not cooked, but it is. It looks doughy, but it is not. Again, a lovely filling of BBQ complements the pastry. The ham and cheese are great for a quick lunch or breakfast sandwich. The Queen got the egg tarts, both regular and Portuguese, and she swears by them. I can't speak on these because I am not a fan of any egg dessert. But The Doctor loved them too and there are none left. So I would say if you like egg tarts, these are a winner.

This bakery has great egg tarts. Every time we go to Chicago, we go here for to go bakery items including egg tarts. The line was a bit long today but our wait is no longer than fifteen minutes long. We go bunch of to go bakery items. The egg tarts has two different kind. I like the original ones. They also have other food items that we brought as well. The fried taro is deep fried, I do not care for it. However all of the other bakery items we got today were great.

This little bakery is popular. When we arrived, there was a line coming out the door. We got in line anyway, there was 1 person working at the counter. Lots of Chinese baked goodies, from savory to sweet. I ordered my usual steam buns and bbq pork buns. Bakery is to go only, not room for dining in. They have 1 fridge for cold items for purchase and the glass of baked goods.

Great bakery shop for some OG Chinese eats. We went to the Little Argyle location around 10 AM, and the items were very fresh and inexpensive. Picked up a char siu bao (4/5) and a hotdog bun (4/5), and it was delicious and a nice pre-cursor to lunch.

There were a few small two tops, but mostly those big round family size tables with the giant center lazy susans. Got a paper menu for dim sum items and a regular menu. Had to go with the dim sum goodies since it had so many things we'd never seen in any Michigan Chinese restaurants. Sweet walnut buns, fried bean curd skins filled with deliciousness, brisket with rice noodles that looked like Korean rice cakes, meatloaf, and more. Everything was outstanding, with various sauces presented with different items. This was new for us as well. A deep red vinegar with some fried dumplings, a tasty black sauce with the fried stuffed bean curd skins, a sweet plum sauce with the fried skinny shrimp rolls, it was really fun food. They have a barista making coffee, espresso and even milk tea, but the wait was like 10 minutes. Clean restaurant with very good service. Wish we lived closer so we could make it regular stop.

The restaurant was packed -- every seat full -- which is always a good sign. We were seated by the window, which made for a great dining spot. The restaurant was lively with large and small groups of people. The wait staff was attentive and efficient, quickly clearing tables and responding to any requests. The food was excellent. We ordered noodles, rice, hot sour soup and dumplings. One thing to note: portions are served family-style and are large enough to share. We originally thought we were each ordering individual plates, but everything came out perfect for the table. No complaints though -- we all left with leftovers, and honestly, it tasted just as good the next day warmed up! I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was perfectly made. The appetizers were a bit on the smaller side but very flavorful -- you may want to order more than one for the table. The only downside had nothing to do with the restaurant itself -- parking in Chinatown can be a challenge. However, if you dine at a participating restaurant, you can get your parking validated for $3, which definitely helps. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would definitely return.
