I've been here a fair amount over the years and it's been hit or miss for the employees, but 95 percent have been friendly and patient and quick, doing a job that is pretty taxing. And for the food? It had been a while since I last had Chipotle, so I decided to stop by their Connecticut Ave. location tonight while working late. The store wasn't busy at all--only two employees were working, and one was leaving as I arrived. I ordered my usual bowl: rice, steak, brown beans, tomato, corn, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole on the side. However, when I got back to the office and started eating, I was extremely disappointed. All I could taste was salt. The food was overwhelmingly salty, and the steak was dry. I paid $17 for a meal that ended up in the trash. To make things worse, while I was at the store, I noticed that both the trash can and the recycling bin were overflowing. This experience has left me wondering if all Chipotle locations have declined like this. I used to enjoy their food, but after tonight, I'll be staying away. Let me start by saying that this was my first visit. My daughter is a chicken person and loves this chain. My wife likes it as well, Thus the vist here. I like reviewing because it helps others. What they did right; The food was fresh hot and plentiful. Most of the staff were upbeat and worked together well. My wife and daughter got the honey chicken bowl and burreto. I got the Steak bowl. It was delicious! What I did not like; The bathrooms were dirty and smelled. There was no air movement. Perhaps the ventilation fan was broken. The sink was missing the airator water restrictor on the water spout and quickly splached on us when it was used. Most people that used this one of the two bathrooms came out with wet cloths. The resteraunt was mostly clean (very busy place) for the time of day. Smelled amazing! My steak was fatty. I swallowed many pieces of fat so as not to call attention however, there were many I had to remove from my mouth. Unfortunatly, I threw some away. I belive a better trimming of the meats would make this a wonderful place. I did not complain to the management because I was with my family as said. I did not and don't now want a refund just a more refined Chipotle. FYI, We went on Sunday may 11th 2025 at 4:00 and are from out of town. I will update If I ever return to DC. I walked into this chipotle and someone was doing substances on one of the tables. I definitely would not recommend sitting down as I'm pretty sure they only clean the tables when they open and when they close. An employee rolled my burrito in a sloppy and wrong way that left everything leaking out. When I pointed this out and asked how am I supposed to do that? They told me it was my fault because I did not order rice in my burrito. Like seriously? I am Mexican and know damn well how to fold a burrito and this person did it all wrong. Honestly if I can get by without a star I would. management needs a reality check and fast. Me and my two friends visit this location with my friend's service animal ( Dog ). when we came in we walked in the line no issues. We were immediately met with an employee telling my friend she has to " put her dog in the corner". ( For reference my friend's dog does not wear a vest or anything signally that he is a service animal and he does not have to ! ) My friend then respond by saying he is a service animal and asking how she was suppose to order if her dog is in a corner. The employee then proceeded to roll their eyes and go out of the line... moving forward we order and im guessing the manager because when i asked where they were that's who i was directed to told my friend next time the dog has to stay outside and my friend says once again this is a service animal and the manager proceeded to say well " they need to wear a vest" and when my friend replied to her saying no he does not she got extremely rude and then proceeded to say well " what service does he provide" excuse me ????? absolutely not you cannot ask a person those questions and if they are asked it is a specific way to ask them once the owner specified he was a service animal. My friend then responded and says he doesn't and they began to argue the manager got very disrespectful and rude asking my friend who is she talking to and the refusing to give is our food that we paid for. The cashier lady as this is all taking place decided to take it upon herself to snatch my friends food as she already paid for it and did not want to give her her food and then refused me service after my bowl was already made. Chipotle something needs to be done about this because these are lawsuits that can very much come about especially since I don't recall seeing any signage on the property, inside, or posted anywhere denying pers/animals. This Took place on March 6, 2024 at around 7:30pm. I see countless reviews of the said manager in this specific situation and the ignorance and lack of empathy this manager displayed was beyond ridiculous and she does not need to be working in a customer service environment PERIOD. read more

I've been to this location at the corner of Connecticut & Calvert NW in Woodley Park DC on a couple of occasions. It's the only good fast food dining option in the area. I've been here when I've done Uber driving. Parking is kind of a pain, but there are worse areas. The food is great like any Chipotle I've been to. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant in the last 10 yrs. My $1,271 catering order was not even close to being ready ( approx 1 hr late) even though I told them when ordered weeks ago it was for a school and it needed to be ready or else kids couldn't eat lunch. Parents provide food one day a week No one cared, Luckily 2 Facility workers noticed the total incompetence and helped me run the boxes to my car . Don't bother with this location since they put very little effort into customer service. Ordered a bowl on-line for pick up that was supposed to include guacamole, a honey chipotle dressing and a chili pepper salsa, along with chips and corn salsa. I also indicated (because they give you the option to request) that I needed silverware (you know, so I could EAT my salad). Sadly, I pick up my salad, walk all the way back to the office and notice there is no guac, dressing or salsa. Also no silverware and the chips were stale as HELL. I went back to let them know the order wasn't right and they said they were out of dressing and guac. Well... here's customer service 101 -- you let the customer know this and OFFER them something else. I was offered queso but we all know that lettuce, some steak chunks, cheese and one little container of gueso doesn't add up to $17! I was not displeased with this Chipotle, which I visited on three occasions during a four-day conference held at the Marriott Wardman Park. The lines moved quickly, the menu items tasted as they do at other Chipotle's, and there was ample indoor seating. The folks who work there were also friendly, which is always a plus in my books. Scratch that, I was disappointed: they do not sell the $4.50 margaritas that I love so much. When I asked why not as I was paying for my late dinner, the very friendly dude said that he did not know, and then joked that he would be happy to grab margs with me after work. That's pretty much the best way to handle telling a girl the establishment is out of her drink. If you are in the mood for Chipotle, by all means go here. It's great. But I'm trying to be sparing with my stars unless the place really merits them, and this Chipotle did not have any 4- or 5-star features as I saw it. read more

This location is near a metro station, in fact on the same block. There are several restaurants on this strip, both sides of the street; Lebanese, Mediterranean, Afghan, Italian. I considered all of the options and still went with Chipotle. Mostly because I know how much I enjoy it and it was a safe choice because I was about to embark on a 5 hour train ride. The staff is just not on its game lately, at all. Three times in the past couple of weeks they've just completely disregarded what I've said. I'd like guac on the side. Nope, a big heap on top. No tomatoes. Nope, here are a ton of tomatoes all over your food. And so forth. After each time, when you tell them that's not what you asked, they do not make your order a new. They just sort of pause and look at you and stand around until you say it's fine or walk out. If it wasn't so close to home, and so Chipotle, I'd sever ties and be done with it. WOW. I'll preface this by saying I've lived in California for most of my adult life, I don't pretend this is real Mexican food - so let's get that out of the way. But, I love Chipotle, I adore them, I used to eat there every other day of the week. The food here was also fine - standard Chipotle and yummy. The people working here OMG!!! I have never, ever, ever, in my life seen or heard worse customer service reps making my food. They whispered and slurred and we could not hear them. Our kids were crying they were so mean. Literally, slurring, whispering, rolling their eyes at us -- and when we tried to answer what we needed we got a loud "HUH????" - And we weren't trying to do a complex order. It was literally like, "pinto beans please" - "HUHH?? (slur slur)" I don't know if this is just east coast living or what, but I have never seen worse customer service employees. Oh and if a manager is reading this, the same employees got so confused they didn't charge us for 2 burritos. This branch really needs to take a look at their staffing. read more

The quality of food at this location is pretty good compared to others I've visited. The burritos are always spot on and good portions, chips are never stale as some other chipotles I've visited are almost inedible from being so rubbery. This is a convenient spot for me because it's close-ish to my work and there is usually parking available nearby, so it's a quick trip. What keeps it from 5 stars is some of the employees. I've come to this location 5+ times since we have been allowed to early in restaurants again since the beginning of COVID, yet every time I am here on a lunch break, employees have always been occupying one of the tables that should be reserved for guest to eat at after purchasing their meals. I believe only 3 tables in this restaurant fit the guidelines for "social distancing" and there has always been two other parties at the other tables, leaving nowhere else to eat here. While you may think it's no big deal, I'd rather just eat my food here after spending $15+ on a full meal, driving back up Connecticut just to eat in my car. Just like today, whoever was working the register was at the last table when I walked in, yet they walked over when I was checking out (clearly they were on the clock). While I understand labor laws require businesses to give breaks to employees, common areas such as dining rooms should be reserved for paying guests and not used as break areas, especially in times like this when business is slow and every sale matters to keep your place open. I affectionately call this branch "The World's Worst Chipotle." It is really unbelievable how much a big chain can vary from location to location but this Chipotle is consistently bad. I live nearby so I find myself here from time to time and there is always something wrong. Typically at least 2 of the food items I want aren't available but there was one time when they were out of white rice, every meat except chicken, corn, guacamole, and soda cups. When I asked the worker what was going on she shrugged and said it had been a busy day before adding that I "could always go somewhere else." The one positive thing about this Chipotle is that there is hardly ever a line because there are so many other food options nearby. read more

Why do some parents let their children run around the eating establishment freely?? Sure, Chipotle is no Cityzen or even a Chili's. But when I'm standing in the soda fountain line to pour myself some iced tea and two little scalawags run up in front of me and JAM their hands into the lemon container and grab 3 lemons each (there's a plastic fork in there) while compensating the container w/ whatever sticky crap they've managed to accumulate throughout the course of the day, it's going to bother me. I mean, what the hell do they each need 3 lemons for, an impromptu lemonade stand?? If so, I hope the price of sugar triples, you little jerks. And yes, the fork was a clear plastic, but it's not the freakin Predator. One can still easily make it out. Other than having to change my drink choice, I had an easy time getting in and out since this Chipotle is set up nicely. The service is quick as always and it's very clean (except for the lemon container). As I was walking out, I had to avoid 1 of the kids as he was running his 30th lap w/ his parents obliviously chatting away at their table. Chipotle uses the best ingredients to make some of the best darn burritos you're going to get east of California. The menu is extremely simple -- you can get a burrito, a burrito bowl, or hard or soft tacos. That's it. The main ingredients are either steak, chicken, barbacoa, or veggie. You have four different types of salsa to choose from, as well as cheese, guacamole, etc. Everything here is about 10,000 calories. The burritos are very sizable and will fill you up. The guacamole is stupendous -- it's just simply amazing. Even a side of guac with chips is a worthy purchase. It's only a block from the Woodley Park metro, so it's quite easy to reach. I'd say Chipotle is one of the best places to eat a quick lunch in all of Washington. read more

I will begin by saying I am a true fan of Chipotle, I LOVE Chipotle! Love, love, love it! When I want to indulge, I go to Chipotle and order some steak tacos, when I want to behave, I order the steak burrito bowl. Yummy, every time...until I visited this location in DC. I was heartbroken as the location was right near the metro and a short walk to where we were staying, but it was terrible. Like all Chipotle restaurants, this location had a nice line when I visited. Since I walked by the restaurant several times a day during my visit, at times I would see the line out the door. Mostly tourists who likely have the same love affair that I have with my local Chipotle, because let's face it, it is pretty awesome! My experience began with pretty messy preparation of my tacos. Half of the filling was outside of the tacos, worker #1 was having a pretty hard time getting it right, so worker #2 grabbed a fork and pushed the escaping contents back into the tortillas. Had I been back home in Bellevue, I would have asked for them to start over, it was a mess. Worker #3 had some neck tattoos and I was taught to not ask people with neck tattoos to remake your food... In regards to the quality of the food, the beef was tough, fatty and it was cold. They were pretty skimpy on the cheese and quak. I decided to really splurge and order the chips and salsa. If you have been to Chipotle, you know these are a real spurge since the chips have more calories than the tacos! The chips were stale, not edible at all, so disappointing. I ate my soggy, cold tacos with a fork, comforted only by the warmth of my free flowing tears. Quite shameful for this location to have the Chipotle name. I am giving it two stars instead of one because I didn't find anything gross (other than gristle) in my food. Hey, I'm reaching, it is Chipotle after all. read more

In the same vein, if it's Halloween and a bunch of twenty-somethings are in a line in haphazardly assembled costumes, they're PROBABLY just waiting for $3 BOOritos at Chipotle. Good parallel? Probably not. Good burrito? Oh yes. On an average day, the value at Chipotle is unmatched, considering the quality and freshness of the ingredients, and the fact that it's fast food that's slightly less likely to cause artery blockage than your average French fries. $7ish for an extremely filling burrito/bowl/salad/tacos(3) made of local, relatively healthy ingredients? Pretty great. $3 for the same BOOrito/bowl/salad/tacos just for putting on an American flag cape or some cat ears? It's this sort of deal that makes me think Halloween may be the best holiday of them all. Chipotle is a reliable choice any day of the year, but it is NOT to be missed on Halloween. Is it the most authentically delicious Tex-Mex you'll ever try? Nope. It is, however, delightfully consistent, no matter where you go, and a filling (**really, really filling) meal for about $7. read more

For quick, cheap eats, Woodley Park isn't the ideal neighborhood to search. There are a couple of mediocre Chinese spots for that, and the best one doesn't have seating. That being said, Chipotle is a pretty good option for a speedy bite in this neck of the woods. My pick is usually a chicken or barbacoa (spicy, shredded beef) burrito with cheese and a combination of a couple salsas - spicy, mild green, mild corn and pico de gallo - they'll put in all four if you want 'em. Be warned: I've heard that their barbacoa, while tasty, is their fattiest meat option. If you load up your burrito with that, cheese, sour cream and guac, you're looking at something like 60 grams of fat. I usually split one or opt for the chicken bol if I'm trying to be "healthy." That's relatively speaking, of course. read more

I've been disappointed in this Chipotle more than once. Aside from a couple of issues this would seem to be a perfectly serviceable option in the nationwide chain of burrito shops, but this one just keeps falling a bit short. I understand that this is a very busy location, but the lack of cleanliness each time I've been in here is more than just "dealing with a rush". That's great that they get busy, but when there are now four customers in the place and you have extra employees standing around, they should probably be cleaning, putting out napkins, fixing the soda machine, etc. That next "rush" you have to deal with is going to really suck if you never cleaned up after the first one. The other thing besides cleanliness that gets me about this location is that they are bizarrely stingy with extras. I don't mean the meat, beans, and guac. We all know those things aren't cheap these days. I mean the salsa and lettuce. This is the only Chipotle I've ever been in where, when asking for a little more lettuce, I was told "No, that's enough" and then when asking again was told "No, you have enough". Just a very odd way to react to what is probably the least pricey thing in the entire place. There are plenty of other Chipotle locations in D.C. and the surrounding area. If I'm in this area I'll go a bit out of my way to one of the others with better service and fewer napkins on the floor. read more

This is the most disgusting Chipotle I've ever been to. The store was absolutely disgusting. They were also out of chicken and no one "wanted" to make more chicken. I saw an employee pick a piece of chicken up from the countertop and place it in my bowl. I then asked for steak instead because I was so grossed out, and he dumped that chicken back into the bowl. Completely unsanitary. Above that, the staff was rude and careless. There was food all over the floor, the trash cans were overflowing, and not one table was clean. I asked an employee if they minded cleaning a table for my mom and me​ to sit at and he refused. I think I'll peek through the windows before I ever go back. This Chipotle is standard Chipotle quality. If you like Chipotle, you'll be a fan of the food--they didn't mess up orders, and knew what they were doing. This location is also able to handle large groups with efficiency and grace, which we really appreciated, though the seating area for said large groups isn't the most convenient. In addition, the seating area was also somewhat dirty and grubby. However, our burritos / bowls were also on the large side, so that was great! read more

I love chipotle and I have it very often but the employees were not so great. I ordered my burrito and a quesadilla for my mom and they charged me for extra chicken but they i never asked for any. Then when I asked about it they whispered to each other and looked at me weird and then didn't remove the charge. After I paid for the food, I had to wait for them to make the quesadilla because before they made it, they decided to help every other customer in line first! This chipotle location is very spotty. I've had very good, large chipotle burritos here. I've also had small, terrible burritos here that make me sick and aren't good value for my money. It all depends on the worker I guess. Sadly, this seems to be a theme in DC...versus the chipotles I used to frequent in Michigan that gave me a huge delicious burrito every time. The guac is always good, but this location needs to step it's game up a little. My last few barbacoa burritos have been lacking meat. Also, there is no outside seating here anymore. That used to be a nice touch, as there is a huge open space for patrons to sit. Sadly...it's gone now. If this were any other restaurant I probably would never come back here. But my love for chipotle/lack of fast food in woodley park keep me returning. read more

I've eaten in plenty of Chipotle as I really love their burrito bowl but this is defintely one of the worst . This review has nothing to do with the food, it's always the same from place to place however the customer service in this place is horrible. The staffs spends more time talking to each other behind the serving line than to the customer. The gentleman that was serving me was talking to his co workers about his night last night and it took us 5 minutes to get my food when there was one lady in front of me and no else behind me. If you frequent Chipotle you know they have this process knock down to a science and you are served in less than 1 minute The serving here is much smaller than any Chipotle I have been as well.
