The past two times I have eaten here, I end up getting extremely sick. The first time I ended up with some stomach virus. It was the worse week of my life. Service was fine, food was okay, but the entire place was the filthiest establishment I can ever remember being in. We didn't realize it until we were searching for a clean place to sit. Every table was dirty, as well as the floors. The area where you get napkins and utensils was littered and overflowing with trash. The trash cans AND recycle were overflowing with garbage! The recycle was so full of trash that it looked nothing like recycle bins. When the gal came out to wipe, she wiped EVERYTHING with one cloth, and took the lids and such that were littering the counter and restocked them with the clean ones. I personally wasn't sure if they weren't a part of the trash that overflowed nearby. Just a shame and I will not be returning or recommending. Chipotle used to be one of the most consistent restaurants in Redding on food quality and service, but the past few months they have had some significant issues. One being out of certain food items at early dinner hrs. I could understand being out of certain food items closer to closing time but not at 5:30-6 pm! The other is forgetting to pack what you order in the bag, only to get home and finding out you're missing something! Their food is not cheap as far as "fast food" goes so when they forget part of your order, it really isn't good! Where to begin? Firstly the first person behind the counter is flirting with a customer right in front of us who is the only one not wearing a mask as he's blatantly a pig for doing so. It's Chipotle and you're at your job not a hang out spot for lonely souls. Then he proceeds to practically flirt with my wife right in front of me and giving her shining service while doing his best to awkwardly hold conversation with her. Finally once it was time for me to order he didn't wanna talk hardly at all and gave me a PATHETIC amount of Cauliflower Rice which was seriously maybe of 1/2 cup of CF Rice then reached for more at first but then dropped the ladle because he was running lower than he wanted so I asked for more (because how is it my fault they're behind on having it ready to go?) to which he says he will have to charge me $2 more for extra on top of the extra $2 for the CF Rice because it's "special". I asked for a manager because this kid was seriously just incompetent as all hell and the manager took one look and said "Give this guy more rice, come on." to which the kid puts the smallest amount he could muster and threw it on top of the rest of the bowl. I'm paying the same $30 I would any other day for me and my wife so why should I get 40% less than I've ever been served before?? Long story short the first kid is a sexist prick who needs some serious social skills training. I will be going to a different location if I even go back to Chipotle at all. I'm down grading the stars. They've recently gotten new management and it's gone downhill. They are even slower than before- the line is still out the door, mostly because of how slow they are and how there is never enough food prepared. I can't even tell you how many times I've ordered ahead and it's not ready when I arrive. Hello.. that's the point of ordering ahead!!!! And then when confronted about it, they still don't make it right then. They put you in line behind the other burritos they have already started. They are good and strong. Salt or no salt, blended or rocks. A Margarita and some tacos on their patio watching people jockey for parking spots in the parking lot is good entertainment. Every single time I walk into this Chipotle restaurant, they make me feel like more than a person. They kind of make me feel like two awesome people that became merged into one, but due to unforeseen reasons, they still have to treat me as that singular, awesome person. That's the kind of customer service that makes me gladly return each time. I mean, okay, yeah, the food is organic. Love it. Their options are non-GMO. Love it. But when California raised minimum-wage at the start of 2016, a lot of restaurants increased the base cost of their food to compensate for the wage adjustment. However, Chipotle went a different direction and said, "No, we're going to turn a profit because our steak still comes from actual cows. We won't charge you an extra dollar this year to order the same burrito you ordered around Christmas because that's just ludicrous. Did we mention our food is organic? It's organic, fam." Up until about 6 weeks ago, I would have given this place a 4 or 5 star review, but not now. the past 4 times I have been in, the experience has left me feeling irritated, and finally not wanting to go back. which blows, because the food is good and there aren't many choices in redding for a healthy "fast food" experience. the last three times i have been in, the counter has been poorly staffed. 3 people, that's it. on a friday night at 8... inexcusable. all three times I received the very last dregs of chicken from the container, and at least half of the other containers were low. because of the understaffing, food sat on the counter for several minutes, getting cold. the second to the last time i went in there were 3 people in front of me. i thought, oh cool, it'll be quick. not. at. all. the guy in front of me was ordering for 6 people. because there was just one young lady, working her butt off, it took 11 minutes to get thru that line. 11 mins is an eternity in chipotle time. pyramids could be built in that span of minutes. the counter people that are present seem harassed and baffled by why they have no assistance. the new manager Lindsey, seems more interested in playing grab-ass with her friends (oh sorry, her employees) and bringing out bags of chips two at a time, than being a manager. How else do you excuse having one person doing assembly when the line is 25-30 people deep? the cashier disappeared for several minutes, further slowing things down. when the surly, pony-tailed, pimply jerk came back he didn't greet me, charged me for the next persons burrito, then argued with me over the salsa being on the side and not in the burrito. But this store, I'm not sure why it's the second time that it's happened to me, but I ordered online for and steak and chicken burrito bowl, which usually is full to the top, in fact it's usually overflowing even with all the extra fajitas and corn with lettuce, there was about 6 pieces of lettuce in my last two orders and the burrito bowls was literally half full. I love Chipotle but the service at this location is poor. Ordering a burrito here takes much longer than it should, and much longer than other chipotle locations. The employees also seem disgruntled and bothered when making your food. Like others have said, I have witnessed the employees here letting their friends, boyfriends, etc. cut the line and be served before paying customers. That's when the smiles and friendly service come out (when they are hooking up friends). I once had to stand in line behind an employee and her boyfriend making out while their burrito was being made. (They cut, too, of course). Ah, Chipotle. While I have to admit for a fast food restaurant, they're just that. It's not the GREATEST FOOD EVAR like people can say. Chipotle, being a fast food restaurant, is probably one of the best ones of the choices. It's quick, good and very filling. The price is fair for the amount of food you get (it's hard to finish a whole burrito unless you're starving!). Before I start, a word. Make sure you do a little bit of research before you step up to order, or at least make sure you allow the people behind you to go ahead until you make up your mind. Fresh, local, ingredients make this place really stand out. Their cilantro-lime rice is by far a favorite of mine and I've created my own recipe for it for home cooking (not hard to do...). I always get the Steak because it's magical. The Barbacoa is amazing too! I build my burrito with lettuce, guacamole, pinto beans, cheese, and medium sauce. It's always a favorite of mine, but like I said- don't come here expecting "authentic" Mexican cuizine, it's a fast food joint, but a good one at that. read more

Food: 4/5 stars. Love Chipotles lineup and the corn salsa is one of my all time favorites. Sometimes the chicken is a little chewy but it hasn't ever been unbearable. The beef choices have been a much more enjoyable experience overall. Service: 2/5 stars. Some nights you get a really great crew of people who are quick, friendly and helpful. Other nights they're throwing ingredients around,they're out of all the things you want (most commonly tortilla chips) and GOD FORBID you place an online order. I love Chipotle! The food feels healthy and fresh, they build my bowl EXACTLY the way I want it and it's QUICK! I also find the pricing to be really reasonable. As a bonus, you can score a beer along with your meal, if you so choose. How many "fast food" places can offer that?!? My meal of choice is the veggie bowl, which includes rice, black beans, sauteed peppers and onions and I like three different types of salsa - hot red, corn salsa as well as the pico. Add a dollop of guacamole and that right there is heaven! Oh Chipotle, why is your line always so long? Oh yeah, because you're IRRESISTIBLE. This is what happens when Redding finally gets a good, quick chain restaurant. My husband can never get enough Chipotle. Unfortunately, that long line we see when we walk up usually makes us turn the other way when we are already starving. Love that they offer "salads" now. It's a burrito bowl without all that bean and rice filler so I can actually get some veggies and still feel full but not feel like exploding...or dying. That vinaigrette they offer is tasty too, but I never need that entire bucket-sized dressing container they provide. Don't forget your fajita veggies and corn/onion mixture. It makes it! When they're on their game, they make an awesome (whatever you feel like) and are SUPER friendly and accommodating. That being said, there is a major issue with product availability, and communication of items that are out of stock. The ordering is not being done properly and it shows. It also makes your employees suffer when they're constantly having to apologize for the state of things. Just kind of a bummer that you regularly can't count on cheese, guacamole, and occasionally meats (though they usually offer to make them for you, and seems to be time related which is much more understandable). Catherine the manager does Not honor her word. This location in Redding ca. gave us the wrong order and ended up poisoning my fiancé. My fiancé cannot digest meat and ends up being extremely ill if ingested. This location made her sofritas (tofu) burrito with chicken. When my fiancé took one of her third or fourth bites thinking things tasted odd she noticed a large piece of what was obviously chicken and im threw up across the dinner table. She also happens to be a bird biologist and vegetarian so the initial reaction was psychological moreso than the later physical response of stomach cramps vomiting and diarrhea that lasted throughout the entire evening and night. When I called to make sure they were careful in the future it too approximately seven attempts 15 minutes of calling and being disconnected to actually get through. when I did finally get through Catherine the manager on duty was cavalier about the entire thing showing no concern of the well being of the person their mistake had caused. she even seemed somewhat entertained at and annoyed that we were upset as we were. She promised to refund the order but today when I checked my account two days later found that she lied and had not. Chipotle records calls so even though California is a two party consent state u.s.c. 2511 when a business notifies you during the call that they are recording you then have a right to do so as well. So... the last 5 times i've gone to Chipotle, they tell me they are out of lemons. I always explained that I can not eat their salad dressing so I use lemon instead. They never care and always dismiss me with an "I'm sorry". I called the manager the first time this happened and she assured me that they have lemons.... just not enough cut and they are always supposed to just cut some for you... this never happens. I use to really enjoy the Redding Chipotle. I still go once in a while to see if it's good again but over the last 2 years it has gradually gotten worse. A couple days ago my girlfriend and I stopped by on our way home and ordered to-go. It took wayyy too long and they were out of 3 items on the line. Our food was very cold. I'm going to share a photo of their pico de gallo because I just can't even fathom why someone would prep such gross looking pico, let alone serve it to people. My girlfriend ordered her bowl with the pico on it and I immediately felt bad because I've tasted it in that condition before and it is inedible.
