There were no people in there at 8:30 on Saturday night. It looked unclean and the food looked old and dry. The bored appethtic people working there should move on to somthing better if it sucks so bad They were cleaning up while we tried to order. Half of the toppings gone and staff was taking topings away right before us. The girl making the food had a nasty bored botherd look on her face. I had to provide my out of town guest guacamole and sour cream at home. The crafty cashier failed to give me a recipt. This experience sucked and we'll never go back and recommend heading a bit down the road west and hit Ricos or the Mexican Restaurant. Need to train staff in the basics of food safety. If there are peppers hanging, halfway out the bowl and on the counter, remove the pepper from the bowl entirely. don't place it back in the bowl after it has touched the counter. Now, I've worked in restaurants so I know the realities of "cleanliness" on the line. However, to place food that has touched that counter that looks like a three-year-old placemat after they finished eating back onto my plate, would make any reasonable persons stomach churn. There was food, stretched out all the way across the counter that had missed the bowls, and no one was even attempting to clean it up. They just kept taking orders and not even trying to work neatly. This place has really gone down hill. Went a month ago and the place was wall to wall people. Placed my order online and arrived ten minutes after expected time and no order to be found. Asked someone and they disappeared for ten minutes. Finally found them and asked again and she said she had no idea and left. Finally after 30 minutes found a manger who then decided to make the order again. As they are doing this they found it sitting in the staffing area above the took go food prep station. I had a door dash at this chipotle restaurant I accept it with ez. I know how efficient this company is for making the best quality food and getting it out quick, but this wasn't the case. I gave the order name to the main person working the food line and she said it would be in the line. Also I came 5 min before the order was gonna be ready to pick up. There was 2 other dasher complaining about there wait as soon as I got there. I waited a good 10 min after the food said it was ready to order to ask again about it. She then finally printed the ticket. I waited 40 min at this location for the food and this is unacceptable. I been to this chipotle many of times and had issues with other matter and this has been my breaking point. This is the closet to my house and they had no bowls before and served me and the lids for the bowls and put allium foil on top. Also COVID time under portioning like not even half what u get in store like that's a joke. Location is in desperate need of cleaning! The musty smell throughout the restaurant area is nauseating. I'm sure the odor is coming from what looks like standing water and muck under the sofa fountain, which looks like it's never been cleaned. The floors and tables could use a deep cleaning too. The sweeteners by the iced tea were gross. Clearly they have gotten wet and someone just put them back out. This location at 13300 Rittenhouse Dr in Midlothian, VA has got some MAJOR issues. Corporate need to step in and handle this mess. Almost everytime the orders are incorrect. The bad part is there is no other Chipotle in this area. I'm having a hard time understanding how someone can make the wrong order with it all spelled out for them right there in black & white. I don't understand why these issues have not been fixed. Is it because there is a staff shortage? I'm not trying to just dog on this restaurant when we have gone through a national crisis. However, some things just seem to be common sense, like have someone making regular trash pickup checks. Manager should be doing quality checks. Managers and GM should be working the lines of short staffed and ensuring quality. It really makes me sad for the restaurant bc it used to be a great place to go.
