I've been on a Chipotle kick as of late and it's pretty much the only fast food place I go to now since you have a fighting chance of eating something healthier that isn't deep fried carbs. I didn't know this was was here because the front of the store is rather small but it's L shaped (well, more like a J) with a lot of seating on the long part of the L. I got there just after the busy part of the lunch rush so they were a little disorganized- missing lettuce, and the food items were kind of on the low side so I had to wait for them to refill it. Not a big deal. I went with the steak as the protein this time but it was a bit on the tough side compared to the other places. They didn't skimp on it though. Again, this was right after the lunch rush, but the tables needed to be cleaned, but really no major complaints. Would come back there if in the area and hungry. read more

This Chipotle checks all of the boxes. When I place online orders, they're ready minutes later. When I work my way through the line, the crew is always complete and thoughtful, even late in the evening. Recently, I tried to use a reward for Chips and Salsa. They forgot to include it in my online order, but a few quick messages in the Chipotle app later, I had been comped a Chips and Guac on my next visit. No complaints here. Pro tip: the parking lot in the front is hectic but there are plenty of spots in the back. read more

This is about the service- the employees... I mostly go to the chipotle location on San Felipe or the one on Louisiana in midtown... I have though been to this one quite a few times over the years Since it's close by to my house.. it has always been the worst based on their employees work ethic and and attitude. But today was the worst of all... I was there just passed 11am I just hot done with work- I go through the line which first of all the lady didn't greet me expected me to know she was ready for me to order by reading her mind I guess- I try to be courteous and not just yell "I Want a bowl with beef" .... but when I get to the register, I say I have a phone number here. idk if you have to put it or if I can put it on here This lady- employee- flat out lies to me and says no you have to have the app on your phone sorry So now we have an employee that is lazy doesn't want to do her job and is a flat out liar.... This Chipotle would be great IF they could get an order right & had the proper containers for food. I really enjoy the quesadillas but this particular location does not use the proper container for the quesadilla & two sides. You'll get the quesadillas in a bowl & the sides will be in micro containers so you're getting half the portion you're supposed to get which is ridiculous. We order online for pick up so I don't know if they'd pull this if you ordered in the store. They've gotten this order wrong twice now. The first time giving me the wrong side completely & this time forgetting a side that we actually ordered extra of so that's annoying. So normally I wouldn't want to have anything to do with any business that has to be related to McDonalds, but they did me a solid. I've only eaten here one other time and that was because I was in a time crunch. I got a burrito with everything and it was ok. I made sure to get the extra hot sauce so it made me not think that the burrito was from a "former" McDonalds chain. My gf told me about a buy one get one free day. You buy a sofritas burrito and you would get another item free for up to a month after after showing them your receipt for the sofritas, kinda odd but whatever. I ordered late and went by the store 30 minutes before it closed to pick up my sofritas burrito. They lady informed me that they had sold out of sofritas earlier that day. Apparently I wasn't the only one who heard about this deal. lol. I wasn't upset b/c I wasn't so sure if I would like the sofritas anyway, but I'll take a BOGO deal when I can. What was very surprising to me was that they gave me a BOGO card for any item before I left. I would have given them two stars bc of the McDonalds thing, but they get one star for polite service and another star for giving me that card instead of me just walking away. read more

Today, for example, I went here at 4pm and they were out of bowls. Other times I have gone there HOURS before closing and they are out of multiple food options. Can't complain. Stopped in on a Sunday around 6:30 PM. The place was dead. Parked out back (they have a large lot behind the building). There was one person in front of us to order so we went thru the line very quickly. The food tasted good. I've had chewy chicken in the past but everything tasted fresh here. I had blacklisted the Chipotle brand well before the e.coli outbreak in their stores; the Chipotle exec that got busted with all the party boy cocaine because bruh you were the Hank Hill of burritos, not cocaine and cocaine accessories; the class action lawsuits against Chipotle for wage theft; the 7.65 million dollar judgment a local 19 year old (Eldridge Parkway store location) won against Chipotle for sexual harassment; and all the other damaging stuff that put their brand name in the mud more effectively than that one South Park episode had. After more than five years it was time for a yelp review update. Not to be all hipstery and claim I hated them before everyone else started hating them but I started hating them when they began enforcing the ridiculous ass corporate policy that if you ordered a quesarito (regardless whether it was a "single" gooey style with a bunch of cheese or a "double" style with the whole additional tortilla in there) you would get charged for both items as in paying for a burrito + paying for a quesadilla and then wondering how you are going to come up with child support without putting on something revealing and hooking underneath the Pierce elevated. For a brief period in time they would not budge on this. And then they suddenly changed everything and tried to implement a uniform policy that it would just cost an additional $3.50 charge on top of a regular Plain Jane burrito. The policy still isn't uniform so if ya boy/ya cuh ain't working the register when you walk in, you are throwing caution to the wind and you can be charged anything from a regular burrito price on up. My experience at this location is that there is an ebb and flow to the hiring, training, and retention of the workers. There were huge problems with the staff in 2011, then they got some good ones, then they got some bad ones, then I quit going for years, and now things seem like they have been sorted out. The staff today were the best I have experienced at any Chipotle location. Apparently the chain had put some of their money where their mouth was about trying to reverse the PR debacles by additional training (especially food safety so there's not another e.coli situation) and not doing wage theft on their employees which makes a fella get a bit mad and trying to retain their quality burrito makestresses and cashier people because customers see constant staff turnover with constant frowny faces on the faces of the staff and get the prescient impression that all is not right for the Burrito People back in Burrito Land. I only ended up here because the line at freebirds was too long - after waiting in line two hours to vote I was not in the mood to wait in line any for a burrito. But all of the Trump memes had me really wanting a burrito because it's just effective branding since it sticks with you. I next tried Taco Bell but again, the drive thru line was quite long. This left me with Chipotle just a further bit down Shepherd. Dare I try it again? I surveyed the situation from Shepherd and saw there was no line. So I was persuaded because sister, that speaks my language. I parked and walked in, no line had mysteriously formed. Like there was no line. I was the line. So I was on the hook for my first return visit to a Chipotle in years but I didn't know any of these people behind the counter so I was not going to play Russian Roulette with a quesarito (since it wasn't busy at all) but instead I would keep the training wheels on and just go with a good old fashioned regular burrito. The service was fine down the line as I had my burrito made to order. My best impression came when I hit the register. I was paying in cash because I feel like the government already knows enough about my spending habits from my credit card bill so I am trying to keep some of my bidness in cash transactions, such as lunch burritos. They could not make proper change (they had no pennies and were thus short $0.03 in change) so instead the guy behind the counter offered a free soda cup drink as an apology. Now that's quality service from a fast casual joint because old Chipotle would have told me to go fornicate myself because the three cents or something-in-lieu-of would not be forthcoming now, soon, or at any time really. I would return here so just don't give me e.coli and we'll be fine, even if you sexually harass me a bit. But give me e.coli and I will be BIGLY upset - BIGLY. read more

Whenever I order from this specific Chipotle, they are always messing up. Because they're the closest to me on the app, and I order Chipotle quite a bit, I have gone as far to nickname them, "Always Messing Up." Find a comfortable spot to sit down and grab a snack while I tell you a few of my many disappointing experiences. 1. My first bad experience ordering from this restaurant wasn't the worst thing that could happen, but it was definitely foretelling of my future to come. When adding all of my ingredients, they put the cheese on the left side, and the guac on the right side. It was strange how perfectly evened out both sides were, but nothing I couldn't fix myself. 2. This experience almost made me cry. I was drunk. I was hungry. I had friends in town and we decided to order Chipotle. We put in two orders and waited patiently for it to arrive. Once it arrived we noticed we got the completely wrong orders. It must have been mixed up with someone else's, because our names and correct orders were on the top of the bowl but the ingredients inside were choices I would never make for myself. In fact, I tried to eat the order, but it was so far from my regular order that I couldn't stomach it and threw the whole thing away. Wasteful, I know, but it was also just not good. Very, very, not good. I contacted Chipotle and they gave me a free entree and I moved on with my life. But I will never forget how disappointed I was that evening. 3. Once I finally moved on from The Night of The Worst Chipotle Bowls Ever, I opened up the app one day. I was tired from traveling and really just wanting some good food to be delivered to my door. Much to my chagrin, the lettuce was marked as "temporarily unavailable." And has been temporarily unavailable since. That was literally months ago. Because of the lack of lettuce, I have been ordering my chipotle from another location, but I have resorted to driving and picking it up. It's not the worst thing in the world, but actually it kind of is when you're tired and hungry. 4. This may just be the straw that broke the camel's back, and my last time ordering from this location. I will tell you why. As I lay in bed hungover, ordering my regular meal, I stop and come to the choice of chips and guac, or chips and queso. After going through the pros and cons of both, I ultimately decided to get chips and queso, because there would be guac on my order. 2 birds, 1 stone. My order comes sooner than expected and I am delighted. However, what I open the order up to is quite horrific indeed. They forgot the guac. The guac that is always asked and confirmed - is extra and is that okay? And it's always okay because it's always delicious. And it's always in my bowl. But this time it is not only NOT in my bowl, but I didn't even order it as a side because I ordered the queso! I had to go into my fridge and cut up my own avocado to add the missing ingredient. Just not the same. And as I am adding my avocado to my meal, what do I notice was added in replacement of the guac? THE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE LETTUCE. Apparently, they've had lettuce all this time and I could have been ordering from them. But not anymore my friends on Shepherd Street, not anymore. I will resort to other locations. To continue ordering from this location would just add to my trust issues and continue to disappoint and quite nearly ruin my life on the days that I cannot drive myself to chipotle. I just can't do it anymore. It's over. We're over. I'm breaking up with this location. read more

Chipotle made me so happy today! I usually get the vegetarian burrito. It's kinda crazy that it costs the same as the chicken burrito, but it does come with guacamole, so it evens out. But now Chipotle has sofritas! Chipotle in California has had sofritas for a while, so I have been patiently waiting for them to arrive here in Texas. And they finally did! Now I can get a delicious burrito with yummy tofu! I've only had it once since I just discovered it today, but it tastes great! I can't wait to try it again! And it also costs the same as the chicken, which is the cheapest of the meat options. So I'm super happy that Chipotle finally has vegan sofritas. The staff has always been really nice to me whenever I've been to this location. I remember they wished me a happy mother's day on mother's day. LOL I just have my little doggy. So as they make my meat pile with salsa on it, they proceed to charge me full price with no offer to remedy this service or lack thereof. I ordered food to be delivered from the location on Shepherd. Was having a few friends over to watch a program & when the food was delivered the covers on the containers were not fastened properly& food fell out in the bag and spilled all over the counter. The meat in the tacos was super tough and mostly gristle. The bowl smelled really bad like bad/old meat. I also ordered guacamole as a side and for$5.90 I got basically two tablespoons of dip. I paid a little over $100 including a generous tip. The tortilla chips were the only food item that were fresh and edible. I paid $100 for a bag of chips. This is not the Chipotle that I have known in the past. Will never patronize them again & will discourage all friends & family to stay away. Also called the corporate office & was treated like a criminal - trying to get a refund. The customer support person acted as if they couldn't be bothered. read more

I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because I've had great experiences here before and this is a fixable issue. Today after standing in line I had to leave because the woman making the burritos was sweating profusely. I don't blame her for this as it was warm in the building, plus she had hot food below her. I just wish she would have taken a break to wipe her face so no more sweat fell in the food. I'm the least picky person when it comes to food but this is a health issue that needs to be resolved.
