Every time I go back my experience gets better and better. Still the cutest and little well kept place. Service is always phenomenal. Employees there are super personable I always feel like I'm right at home. RJ and Ken especially helped in elevating the experience in my last trip. Food is fire every time. Love that you have an option of getting handcrafted cocktails. Will be revisiting so soon! Torchys you'll always have this foodies heart!

Torchy's is one of my go-to taco spots. I know it's a franchise now, but I have been a fan for years. I used to have to go to Rice Village to get my fix, but now I can go down the street to this location which is spacious, clean, and convenient The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a large bar area, a to go section, inside and patio seating The menu has something for everyone: beef, chicken, veggie, seafood, breakfast, etc Some tips: I always get a trailer park trashy style (with queso), and I get a specialty taco that used to be a monthly taco called "naughty Santa." It has grilled shrimp, chorizo, picked onions, etc. definitely get the chips and queso. I think they have some of the absolute best queso on the market. Order the queso to go even if dining in because they tend to give more chips and the volume of queso appears larger Cheers!!

Four words....Hillbilly queso and chips. If you are just looking for a quick bite with happy hour prices then Torchy' Tacos is one of the places. I have been to many of their locations and have not been disappointed yet. The only discrepancy I noticed is depending on the location correlates to the service and amount of meat you receive in your tacos.

Great food and great service. Hanging out with friends. Best place ever. Nice vibes on the weekends

my fiancé is obsessed with this place. I have other opinions, not necessarily negative but I don't view this place as perfection. The vibes of this place are weird, they're trying to combine too many things into one place. We sat at the bar to eat and drink one night with friends. The bartender acted like this was an anomaly. It doesn't fit a bar, it doesn't fit a mexican restaurant, it doesn't fit a build your own. It's just ANOTHER fast casual taco place. With that being said, the hillbilly queso is one thing I like a lot. It's delicious and has some complexity. As for the tacos, I've tried a few and they're okay. The elote is very americanized. It's a good place if you're grabbing a quick lunch. If you're looking to do literally anything else, probably not.

We drove to downton HTX to check out Memorial Park. We couldnt figure out which entrance to go for easy access to the food court. We ended up driving around and saw Torchy's and ended up dining in this establishment. It was our first time and honestly, I couldn't decide so I ended up with two orders. I had the Torchys Trashy chicken and Shrimp Taco, there were additional order for party of 6 ended up paying $112 including chips and guacamole. It was delicious. We will definitely be dining back closer to our area. Bike and carmeets is the best time to go If you haven't tried Torchy's, I recommend for you to try it

So, I've been told several times by several friends that I need to visit Torchy's. I've been twice now, and each time I've tried something different, and each time I feel like the food is medicore. I got chips and queso which was pretty good, but not wow-ing. Next, I got the shrimp taco and trailer park taco. They were alright. Neither were fantastic, lacked flavor and were just fine. Next time I am in Texas, I will likely go elsewhere. Oh, before I go, I have to say, the staff was fantastic and so was the overall service.

There were flies and gnats everywhere. I'm sure we ate some. Service was fast but those gnats.

I was on a late night Michael's run and saw torchys across the parking lot, decided to try. The restaurant is super modern and trendy inside. Seems like a great place for a first date. I tried the steak fajita taco and the Baja salmon taco. We took a little buzzer and went to choose our seating, since some wonderful fall weather has been hitting Houston we decided to sit outside. The outdoor seating area is mediocre tbh. A lot of the seats were dirty and the lighting was sparing, I felt like I was eating in the dark. The food came quickly. I LOVED the Baja salmon, it was so creamy with salmon and cotija cheese but the creaminess was cut with the acidity from the pickled onions. I'd skip the steak fajita next time though, it was super over salted. The chips were also super salty to an unpleasant degree. I'd come back again for the cheap prices but some of their menu items are definitely a bit salty.

Baja shrimp. Tastes better than it looks unwrapped

This chain was recommended to me by a friend who lived in Texas for a year and it was so good! I got the Baja shrimp and the special one of the day which was the pulled pork. Pulled pork was not bad but definitely the baja shrimp is the way to go. So tasty, the shrimp is fried but it's not too oily/greasy. Though it also wasn't super crispy (which I actually like when it's super crispy!). Definitely will get again if I ever come back to Texas.

Allow me to be Review No. 1,100 following my visit to this wonderful culinary gem yesterday…read more By default, Spring Branch is Houston's Koreatown, but it's not unusual to find establishments with Spanish-language branding on them throughout the neighborhood. And Tacos Doña Lena, on which I'll heap tons of praise on, is among them. A group of friends and I had supper here before a live show down the street at Eighteen Ten Ojeman. Upon seeing the storefront when we pulled into the parking lot, my first thought was, "Okay, this is legit Mexican, not Tex-Mex." The interior is quite small with some tables and an ample late Saturday afternoon crowd. What caught my eye is how the environment is what you might expect to find at a family-run taqueria off the beaten path. Rock en Español blaring from the sound system. Colorful papel picado draped from the ceiling. A framed Mexican flag and several references to the central Mexican municipality of Guanajuato. The intoxicating smell of spice-laced grilled beef wafting through the air. Simply put, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. I glanced at the menu. There are numerous, delicious-sounding items that happen to be wallet-friendly, a bit cheaper than if you were to go to Gringos or Jimmy Changas. According to a mutual, the tacos here are the main draw, but what really caught my attention and appetite was the ramen birria. Mujeres y caballeros (ladies and gentlemen), let me proclaim that Tacos Doña Lena turns a noodle dish with origins in Japan and is a known staple in college dorm rooms into a must-try on this part of America's fourth-largest city. Two amazing food cultures unite for a fiery meeting of the minds. Anchored by a rich, tasty consomé that's spicy but not enough to where you need to drink multiple glasses of water, there's a prime mix of ramen noodle, beef birria, cheese, fried egg, rabanos, garbazo, and corn accompanied by cilantro, onions, and a pair of fried tostadas. I was so impressed with how the contents of the ramen blended together. Since it was ramen after all despite the south of the border touchup, I still ate it the traditional way: pick up the noodles and sip the soup. There was so much that I had no choice but to put it in a takeout container. Sure, Spring Branch may be home to some great traditional Korean restaurants, but don't sleep on Tacos Doña Lena.

I don't like cinnamon but the horchata was addicting and it paired so well with the food. My friend got their Melon Agua Fresca and he said it was really refreshing as well. The gorditas were stuffed and they were so delicious, the cheese was melting and the bread was warm and not dry. The Quesadillas were my favorite. You put both the red sauce and the green sauce on it, a lot of lime juice, and it's perfect. I forgot to order cilantro on mine but they do give you it at no extra cost. There's a parking lot, but we went on the weekend, and while the interior didn't look overly full, it was somewhat difficult to find a parking spot. The restaurant itself is clean. Everything is pretty much green and white. There's covered patio seating. The individual taking orders seemed to have a bit of an attitude and just seemed "over it." Furthermore, we mentioned having a queso coupon and when we were given the total I placed my card on the reader and I was told that I did it too fast and the queso wasn't taken off. The odd thing was, we walked away and realized that they didn't add the queso and the coupon was for free queso so they could have just rung up an additional queso. This individual had the vibe of eye rolling everything, and it honestly left a bad taste in my mouth Some tips: You can order online to avoid any wait.
