The portion sizes were ridiculously small. Staff doesn't speak English. I got half a spoon of rice.

It was filthy dirty, disgusting! I should have taken pictures, I just wanted to warn people, management and owners need to clean this up...

Ordered a kids taco plate and 2 bowls. The first man made the kids plate. The second man removed half of the meat from the kids plate. I complained that the portion was way smaller than typical but he kept removing it. Both bowls were also very skimpy. I should have walked out. I won't be back. read more

This location is the most disgusting dining experience I've had as long as I can remember. The tables and floors were covered in food, trash cans were overflowing, the bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Just absolutely vile. I've never seen anything like this. I can't even imagine what the food prep area looks like. My next stop will be the county food health website. read more

This is the only chipotle where I have eaten a bowl and still been hungry. I should have read the reviews first. The workers barely gave me a scoop of rice and meat. With everything my bowl was still have empty. And for $15, I'll find a local restaurant with better service. read more

Showed up at 10:40am on 12/7/24, posted opening time online and on the door is 10:30am. Employees inside prepping food, doors are locked.

Would have given zero stars if possible. Quite possibly the worst chipotle on earth. We ordered a party pack for a yard full of kids and when we arrived to pick it up it hadn't been started. After ignoring us and helping customers in line we finally got someone's attention who proceeded to slam cabinets and utensils while reluctantly building our order. The original store down the street was great but since they moved it has been awful. On another visit, the two girls behind the counter were clearly fighting so after about 15 minutes I finally left because they wouldn't complete my order.thankfully there other options for good food and service nearby. read more

Asked for a bowl. Got one half scoop of rice and half scoop of meat. Never in my life have I seen a bowl be given to me with bottom still showing. Avoid this Chipotle by all costs. read more

If I could rate this location 0 stars, I absolutely would within the fraction of a heartbeat. The truth is the food was horrible. This location is the worst thing to happen to the Chipotle franchise since the E. coli incident in their lettuce. My parents literally fed me Chipotle in the womb and I've never experienced something this atrocious. The food was flavorless and I struggled immensely to finish my bowl. Further, the rice lacked complete flavor. The service was awkward. Unfortunately the staff seemed utterly lost and couldn't find some basic items which held up the line. The portions were incredibly small as if it came out of their paychecks. I would rather pay extra if it meant that this location could improve in even the slightest way. I came here because other local Chipotle locations have significantly decreased in quality including everything from cleanliness to quality of staff and this place is the cherry on top of it all. The absolute worst in all of the West coast, or perhaps even in the United States. The ambiance is akin to that of a prison however a prison may have better food. Thank you. I will miss the golden day of this restaurant chain in rapid decline. read more

Very very slow service every single time I have visited. There is a reason the business has disabled adding new reviews on Google maps. Yikes. read more

Service was so poor here I had to leave a review. I showed up at 9:05 and I was the second person in line. There was not a single diner in the whole place. Just the man getting ready to order and me. I did not get served until 9:18. From there it took 2 minutes to get me checked out. There were 4 staff members. Two members were focused on cleaning the whole place. I get prepping for close, but it shouldn't be at the expense of customers. They waited until about 3 other people got in line behind me. Served the guy in front of me. Took an online order and then served me. If they had just focused on getting me out of the door it would have taken 2-3 minutes, tops. The service is always poor here, but I've likened it to the place being busy. That's simply not the case. Just poorly ran. Employees don't give a shit. Seems to be a general sentiment across chipotle lately read more

The level of incompetence and the quality of the food at this location has hit rock bottom ever since they changed locations...avoid this location unless you enjoy being ignored..dirty tables and floors and old stale meats.....the rancho Santa Fe location blows this sad place out of the water! And this is coming from someone that's been supporting chipotle for decades!! Think I'm joking? Look me up on Facebook under the name chipotle love!! But honestly after todays experience at the encinitas location I will never be going back read more

The young man who helped me, was very polite and efficient, and, also the only one working the front counter, both to serve the food and work the cash register. He had almost shoulder length, very dark brown hair. My food looked and, tasted fresh, and good. On the other hand, there were three young men behind him, who stood there, talking, doing nothing. Additionally, every single seat /table inside was dirty. There was smeared food and crumbs and food debris on every single surface the only place to sit was outdoor seating. Maybe they have a staff shortage and it really shows read more

This is the worst chipotle I have ever been to. Do not order anything through the app here, you will be given the wrong items or small portions. Customer service is not great either, they do not listen to requests and act annoyed when corrected. I am a regular chipotle customer but find myself avoiding this location as much as I can read more

worst chipotle experience i've had in my life... people come here because it's supposed to be fast. there was ONE person working both the line and the register during PEAK dinner hour... there's like 20 people in line. we chose to leave our sit down dinner because we were in a rush to come here and it ended up probably taking longer ‍. not even his fault he's doing his best... capitalism strikes again! hire more people! put more people on the schedule! boo read more

Service was poor waited 10 minutes to get served only three people in the restaurant. Helping size was small I thought they had that addressed. First time visiting in 6 months will not go back. How do these guys stay business bunch of suckers out there I guess. read more

I gotta give it to the crew that worked at night yesterday 8/18/22. They were unfortunately backed up due to a 30 burrito bowl door dash order and the employees who were serving the food for the customers were still very attentive. The customers in line too were very patient. My serving size was good. I'm writing this review mainly for the crew that worked that shift. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Me and my girlfriend are huge fans of Chipotle. But every time we go to this branch they are horrible. Terrible portion sizes. Then when you ask for more they want to charge you double even though the first serving isn't even close to what it should be. Today all the Chipotle workers were arguing and the girl serving the salsas and topping wouldn't stop yelling at the customers. If I didn't tell her what I wanted in 1 second she would yell the options at me louder and louder with zero patients. Our bag of chips had hardly anything in it. The service is terrible every single time. It isn't even worth it to go anymore. 40 dollars for two bowls getting charged double servings for less than what one serving should be is embarrassing. This branch needs new workers and new management. read more

The service was good, but the quantity is terrible. I wish they would measure the meat and the guacamole. There was hardly any meay and guacamole. Not really worth the price anymore. read more

There were more employees than customers but there was still a line. One guy was doing everything while half the staff stood around. I also ordered a soda and their machine was messed up and it sprayed everywhere and ruined my shoes. They were cleaning the nozzle for the machine but didn't put a sign anywhere. After it ruined my shoes they offered me only a free chips and queso.. This is the WORST chipotle I've ever been to. read more

Chipotlane. What's going on over there? Literally first review I have ever left, I actually downloaded yelp just to Karen someone out about this and get out my emotions. Anyway, I want you to look at this photo and tell me in what world a $11 burrito should be the size of a deck of cards? Please I don't want to live in that world. Not sure if they have the new younger employees working the chipotlane but it seems that someone over there doesn't know daily intake of macros we grown people should be eating. This is baby food. Child's play. Reminds me of a packed lunch my mom made me in 6th grade. Anyways, I'm grown now you see. And I need food. Just the regular amount of food will do. A burrito the size of a deck or cards? You kidding? I actually looked it up and a playing card is 2.5 inches long. That means this burrito is 3 inches long. That's crazy hahaha. I payed $11 for a 3 inch burrito. read more

OMG! Just ate at this Chipotle location (Encinitas CA) and I don't think it could have been worse! The whole restaurant was filthy, including the floor, tabletops and especially the condiment/drink/utensil station ... old food and trash everywhere. And speaking of that station, there were no napkins or forks at all. I had to go back to the line to ask for a fork and some napkins, which they reluctantly brought me, along with a large helping of attitude. Nice! And regarding the food, I generally love Chipotle's food but the bowl I received tonight was absolutely ice cold. And I'm not exaggerating. It was not lukewarm or even room temperature, it was very cold, as if they put all their ingredient containers in the fridge and had just brought them out ... including their al pastor chicken. Yikes. Eat at Chipotle BUT NOT this one in Encinitas!!! read more

The food was decent. The chips were stale, and there piece of avocado shell in one my moms hard shell tacos, the service not good. They were pushy, and had just assumed we wanted to dine in and gave us are food dine in style. didn't ask us if we wanted to dine in or do takeout. When I told them we wanted to do takeout they got mad and wrapped my moms hard shell tacos like how they would wrap a burrito with tinfoil and were gonna put it in the bag with the burrito. When I questioned them about wrapping it in tinfoil instead of how they usually do it with the bowl and metal lid. Then they said that they "normally wrap the hard shell tacos with one piece of tinfoil like a burrito" and "that they have never put them in the bowls and that it would be weird if they did put it in the bowl". I have been going to chipotle for a while now and i know that they always put the tacos in a bowl. I would not recommend coming here unless you want avocado shells in your food, stale chips, and rude service. read more

Chipotle Mexican Grill - This is the piece of avocado shell that was inside the tacos my mom got - Mexican Near Me - Encinitas, California

No idea why the other reviews are so bad. Best chipotle location- everything is always fresh and made so well. Will only visit this location as it's consistently perfect read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I feel like every time I order from here the employees consistently get the order wrong every single time. So amazing how these people manage to screw up every single time I order. Went in person one time and they couldn't even get the number of tacos right in the three taco meal, despite me saying three multiple times while they organized TWO on the plate. Not to mention adding the wrong meat and toppings even though the sticker has the right information. I just want to eat what I ordered. read more

This place is soo dirty! It has a bunch of teenage boys working there whom probably don't see the disgusting mess this place is. The floors are dirty, most of the tables are not cleaned. The worst are the counters where the food you are eating is being prepared! The floors in the kitchen are dirty. How is this place still open? One star is too much! read more

Terrible customer service. I've also had to intervene & do their job myself. Very condescending & tells me how to order. I only go here when my preferred place isn't opened. read more

Stood at the front for a good 3-5 mins without any help or interaction from any the employees. Cashier just look at me and look away. You guys must not like people of color or something cause right away nobody greeted or even acknowledged me. It's very unprofessional and rude of this establishment. Especially when the manager/supervisor was sitting there with an employee going over their schedule. They got up and walk over to the front of the bar ( I'm thinking somebody gonna help me now) just to look at me and keep walking into the kitchen. The guy who was helping the customers finally comes back n looks n hesitates n then just keeping moving into the kitchen. Is it cause I'm Asian and have a bunch of tattoos that I'm not welcomed in this area? I own 2 business of myself and have employees as well and this establishment makes me so proud of my employees cause you guys really don't care about the job. I wonder how sanitation is there too.. this generation I see just don't have it them anymore.. the most basic task of the jobs can't even be applied and to see how management handle that situation tells me how much of a mess this company really is.. STAY AWAY. Spend your hard earn money somewhere else. Corporate will be getting a email as well!! read more

I came in to pick up my lunch between 130 and 2 PM and there was almost no wait time. The restaurant and the kitchen area look super clean. My absolute favorite part was the staff - if I could give them 10 stars I would! Will definitely be coming back to this location! read more

Stopped here tonight to get some food and they were out of 6 different items one of which was TORTILLAS! Fajitas, guac, different meats, etc. Manager/owner of this location needs to get it together. read more

When I got to this Chipotle (Encinitas) to pick up some lunch to go, there was a line. While waiting I noticed there was only one person working the food line and cash register (same person). Another person was prepping food while a third employee talked to her. A woman who may have been the manager was back and forth, but never jumping in to help the extremely slow moving line. The line at one point reached the front door. Finally a 5th employee started working the cash register, and eventually took a couple of orders. We finally got our food, and sadly, we could barely eat it because it was way too salty. We ate about half and tossed the rest. This store is the worst managed restaurant I have ever experienced. read more

If I could rate this 0 starts I would. It's a Wednesday night and we come in for three items an hour before closing. It's 9:05, they close at 10pm. The man with the bulgy eyes acted as if we were forcing him to work at gun point. When I began ordering, and said I needed 3 items he rolled his eyes and said "of course you do. And 10 minutes before closing too. YOU WOULD", and I said "we have a hour right? Dont you close at 10?" he then began cussing and rolling his eyes. He went on to treat me with such disrespect & anger- and acted as if making 1 burrito and 2 burrito bowls was the most grueling act on planet earth. Clearly pissed, he gave me the smallest amount of beans out of spite. When I asked for a bit more, he said "this is above my pay grade". Finally upon paying, he threw my burrito bowl on the counter and shoved the receipt in my face. When I finally told him that he was being incredibly unprofessional and rude, he responded with the biggest laugh. I am just a teenage girl. Horrible, horrible, horrible! When I would come here 8 or so months ago it was actually pretty good! Solid portions and friendly staff but idk what changed since then but now whenever I order online the order is wrong and portions are much much smaller. I would come here twice a week but now I'm just going to go to cotixan across the street for my Mexican food fill. Pass on this location - it's as bad as the reviews say... read more

Always messes up orders, the receipt is always correct yet the order is wrong. Will not be coming back.

I had lunch at this restaurant today. The food was good but the restaurant was filthy! There was probably 25 tables and only one clean one. Employees were busy chatting and not taking care of what needed to be done to keep the restaurant clean. Dirty tables and trash on the floors. Trash cans were full as well. I will not return to this establishment. read more

This particular chipotle has gone to shit ever since they made it a drive thru. The service is consistently awful and the food portions and quality are hit or miss as usual. Todays poor review is for them hitting the trifecta. A gristly half portion of food getting cold in the back where the drive thru orders are while myself and a half dozen other patrons stood waiting for our orders wondering where they were. We had to get in line to inquire!!! which definitely defeats the purpose of online ordering. This was the last and final time for my family and I. read more

Whenever I order food from this location, something is wrong. Whether the order isn't ready by the time the app says it is, or I get there and they're "out" of something. Today I decided to give this location one more shot and I get half a bowl, the proportions here are horrible. read more

I had lunch at this location on September 15, it was around 3:00 pm. It takes a lot for me to actually take the time to write a negative review, however when I arrived I ordered inside and I immediately looked around my surroundings and was astonished on how filthy this restaurant was. Especially considering I was the only customer ordering, there was a couple sitting outside, and the employees appeared to not really doing anything to recover the dirty restaurant. When I went to order, all the food in the bins looked as if it had not been cleaned or changed, the bins looked extremely filthy around them, the tables were dirty, along with the area where the napkins and the soda machine. It looked like a very unhealthy environment. When I went back to work after lunch, my boss had gone to that same location on her lunch break at 12:00 pm and was telling me about her unpleasant visit to chipotle on el Camino and how dirty it was when she went there. Clearly from my observation, and some of the reviews on here, it seems to be consistent with the lack of cleanliness. Just wanted to make you aware of this issue, this is absolutely unacceptable. And would definitely not get a restaurant Grade A. Hopefully, you will effectively implement higher standards and expectations at this location. read more
