The young man who helped me, was very polite and efficient, and, also the only one working the front counter, both to serve the food and work the cash register. He had almost shoulder length, very dark brown hair. My food looked and, tasted fresh, and good. On the other hand, there were three young men behind him, who stood there, talking, doing nothing. They were unfortunately backed up due to a 30 burrito bowl door dash order and the employees who were serving the food for the customers were still very attentive. If I could give zero stars I would. Me and my girlfriend are huge fans of Chipotle. But every time we go to this branch they are horrible. Terrible portion sizes. Then when you ask for more they want to charge you double even though the first serving isn't even close to what it should be. Today all the Chipotle workers were arguing and the girl serving the salsas and topping wouldn't stop yelling at the customers. If I didn't tell her what I wanted in 1 second she would yell the options at me louder and louder with zero patients. Our bag of chips had hardly anything in it. The service is terrible every single time. It isn't even worth it to go anymore. 40 dollars for two bowls getting charged double servings for less than what one serving should be is embarrassing. There were more employees than customers but there was still a line. One guy was doing everything while half the staff stood around. I also ordered a soda and their machine was messed up and it sprayed everywhere and ruined my shoes. They were cleaning the nozzle for the machine but didn't put a sign anywhere. OMG! Just ate at this Chipotle location (Encinitas CA) and I don't think it could have been worse! The whole restaurant was filthy, including the floor, tabletops and especially the condiment/drink/utensil station ... old food and trash everywhere. And speaking of that station, there were no napkins or forks at all. I had to go back to the line to ask for a fork and some napkins, which they reluctantly brought me, along with a large helping of attitude. Nice! And regarding the food, I generally love Chipotle's food but the bowl I received tonight was absolutely ice cold. And I'm not exaggerating. It was not lukewarm or even room temperature, it was very cold, as if they put all their ingredient containers in the fridge and had just brought them out ... including their al pastor chicken. The food was decent. The chips were stale, and there piece of avocado shell in one my moms hard shell tacos, the service not good. They were pushy, and had just assumed we wanted to dine in and gave us are food dine in style. didn't ask us if we wanted to dine in or do takeout. When I told them we wanted to do takeout they got mad and wrapped my moms hard shell tacos like how they would wrap a burrito with tinfoil and were gonna put it in the bag with the burrito. When I questioned them about wrapping it in tinfoil instead of how they usually do it with the bowl and metal lid. Then they said that they "normally wrap the hard shell tacos with one piece of tinfoil like a burrito" and "that they have never put them in the bowls and that it would be weird if they did put it in the bowl". I have been going to chipotle for a while now and i know that they always put the tacos in a bowl. I would not recommend coming here unless you want avocado shells in your food, stale chips, and rude service. read more

Stood at the front for a good 3-5 mins without any help or interaction from any the employees. Cashier just look at me and look away. You guys must not like people of color or something cause right away nobody greeted or even acknowledged me. It's very unprofessional and rude of this establishment. Especially when the manager/supervisor was sitting there with an employee going over their schedule. They got up and walk over to the front of the bar ( I'm thinking somebody gonna help me now) just to look at me and keep walking into the kitchen. The guy who was helping the customers finally comes back n looks n hesitates n then just keeping moving into the kitchen. Is it cause I'm Asian and have a bunch of tattoos that I'm not welcomed in this area? I own 2 business of myself and have employees as well and this establishment makes me so proud of my employees cause you guys really don't care about the job. I wonder how sanitation is there too.. this generation I see just don't have it them anymore.. the most basic task of the jobs can't even be applied and to see how management handle that situation tells me how much of a mess this company really is.. This place is soo dirty! It has a bunch of teenage boys working there whom probably don't see the disgusting mess this place is. The floors are dirty, most of the tables are not cleaned. When I got to this Chipotle (Encinitas) to pick up some lunch to go, there was a line. While waiting I noticed there was only one person working the food line and cash register (same person). Another person was prepping food while a third employee talked to her. A woman who may have been the manager was back and forth, but never jumping in to help the extremely slow moving line. The line at one point reached the front door. Finally a 5th employee started working the cash register, and eventually took a couple of orders. We finally got our food, and sadly, we could barely eat it because it was way too salty. We ate about half and tossed the rest. If I could rate this 0 starts I would. It's a Wednesday night and we come in for three items an hour before closing. It's 9:05, they close at 10pm. The man with the bulgy eyes acted as if we were forcing him to work at gun point. When I began ordering, and said I needed 3 items he rolled his eyes and said "of course you do. And 10 minutes before closing too. YOU WOULD", and I said "we have a hour right? Dont you close at 10?" he then began cussing and rolling his eyes. He went on to treat me with such disrespect & anger- and acted as if making 1 burrito and 2 burrito bowls was the most grueling act on planet earth. Clearly pissed, he gave me the smallest amount of beans out of spite. When I asked for a bit more, he said "this is above my pay grade". Finally upon paying, he threw my burrito bowl on the counter and shoved the receipt in my face. This particular chipotle has gone to shit ever since they made it a drive thru. The service is consistently awful and the food portions and quality are hit or miss as usual. Todays poor review is for them hitting the trifecta. A gristly half portion of food getting cold in the back where the drive thru orders are while myself and a half dozen other patrons stood waiting for our orders wondering where they were. I had lunch at this location on September 15, it was around 3:00 pm. It takes a lot for me to actually take the time to write a negative review, however when I arrived I ordered inside and I immediately looked around my surroundings and was astonished on how filthy this restaurant was. Especially considering I was the only customer ordering, there was a couple sitting outside, and the employees appeared to not really doing anything to recover the dirty restaurant. When I went to order, all the food in the bins looked as if it had not been cleaned or changed, the bins looked extremely filthy around them, the tables were dirty, along with the area where the napkins and the soda machine. It looked like a very unhealthy environment. When I went back to work after lunch, my boss had gone to that same location on her lunch break at 12:00 pm and was telling me about her unpleasant visit to chipotle on el Camino and how dirty it was when she went there. Clearly from my observation, and some of the reviews on here, it seems to be consistent with the lack of cleanliness. Just wanted to make you aware of this issue, this is absolutely unacceptable. And would definitely not get a restaurant Grade A. Hopefully, you will effectively implement higher standards and expectations at this location. read more
