Tried BBQ (Char Siu) Pork, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Mushroom Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and Chow Mein. Every single thing we got was absolutely delicious! We were hesitant to try this place based on its hole-in-the-wall appearance, and even bailed more than once after pulling in front of the restaurant. Now I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner! Chow Mein noodles were chewy and flavorful. Sweet and Sour sauce was wonderfully tangy and refreshingly different than typical Chinese chain-restaurants. Mushroom chicken and Beef & Broccoli were both flavorful and best of all, packed with FRESH vegetables. Nothing frozen or canned! Kung Pao was great and had a nice kick to it. And the BBQ Pork. Anyone who has ever had Mana Pua needs this pork. You just need it. Believe me. It takes me right back to when we lived in Hawaii and frequented our favorite Mana Pua shop and ordered Char Siu Mana Pua. Yum! Next item of business: the packaging. We ordered take-out and didn't tip, which I now feel horrible about. They took the time to plastic wrap each of our take-out boxes to prevent spilling, which is a major down-fall of getting take-out anywhere else. They also kept the spicy dishes in separate containers so as not to spice up the rest of the dishes, which I was EXTREMELY grateful for as we have two toddlers we were feeding as well. We will absolutely be back as soon as the next Chinese craving kicks in, which I imagine will be soon after realizing how close (and awesomely priced) good Chinese food actually is. We were snowed in and called to see if they'd still deliver, and they did! We ordered a large chow mein, and sweet and sour chicken, with an order of pot stickers. The price came to about $16. My husband loves this place. He talked it up to be this amazing place. So tonight I picked it up for us for dinner. The place was empty and dirty looking. The lady behind the counter greeted me pretty quick. I ordered 2 2 item combos to go with orange chicken and beef with broccoli for both. I maybe waited 10 minutes at the most for it to be cooked. The lady was chatty and friendly. Fast forward to getting home and eating... The beef broccoli tasted like metal. Like the pan it was cooked in. The beef was as pale as chicken and may have actually been chicken, but I couldn't tell the flavor over the metal taste. The orange chicken was mostly batter and the orange sauce was just too tangy. I opted for the noodles and got my husband fried rice. Both tasted as if they'd been cooked last week. I was incredibly unimpressed and won't be going back. read more

We love the food but hate the service. We went twice to take food from this place. Every time the food was tasty and delicious but the lady that took our orders was so rude that we gave up. My wife and I had an opportunity to try this little gem out today and we are so glad we did. We both got the bbq pork which was as good as I've had at any high end Chinese bbq restaurant. We also had some rice noodles, potstickers and a few egg rolls and all were very fresh and delicious. We had our 11 month old daughter with us and not only did the owner Susan bring out some noodles for her but also gave her a free juice box. Owner was very nice and attentive. This is not the nicest looking place around, but it's the little hole in the wall places that always surprise you. We will be back for sure! read more

A good restaurant in utah! I am blown away!! The service was very friendly. I ordered to go in the restaurant and it took less than 15 minutes to be ready. I listened to the other yelpers and ordered BBQ pork and rice noodles. Both were added charges but so worth it. I also ordered general tsaos chicken. Very thing was cooked to order, fresh, chicken was crispy, noodles were amazing. The location is a little out of the way but we'll worth your time to come here! read more

They are very nice but the prices are a little higher (no more Dinner for 4 deal!), and the food not quite as good, ie no peppers or pineapple in the sweet and sour. Just FYI. I went here for lunch because they seemed to have some decent reviews. I don't know where they got those reviews, because for me this was pretty bad. I ordered the three item combo thinking I'd get a good sample of what they had to offer. It came in the typical ubiquitous Styrofoam container and everything was just piled together in a heap. I ordered orange chicken, pepper chicken, and Mongolian beef, which came with lo mein, but there was no way to tell which was which with the exception of the lo mein. Everything I got was the same texture and color and was all covered in some type of bland gravy/sauce, same sauce for everything. The noodles used in the lo mein were the cheap, super fat spaghetti noodles you get in a school cafeteria. Not good. Maybe they were having an off day, and they seemed to be nice people but I won't be returning. read more

Received Delivery Service from here last night. The food was good, but we ordered way too much. There's a few different menus I found online, and I don't know which was their updated one. 3/4 of us had an upset stomach which required medicine to ease the bloating and cramping -- but it was worth it, I'd like to think. This is our new favorite Chinese place! We ordered a take out just 30 min before they closed and they happily made it up and waited for my daughters to get there as it was so foggy they couldn't go fast. The food was awesome! I don't care if it is American/Chinese. It's yummy! Real Chinese is not my favorite. I have never like low mein or chow mein and I love theirs. It is flavorful and doesn't smell like hay. The pineapple chicken is great.(reminds me of my moms sweet and sour recipe.) We liked the Bar-B-Que chicken and pork, too. The sauce isn't super sweet or over done w/ garlic. The broccoli beef was full of flavor, too. My favorite of the order was the Egg Drop Soup. It is always my fave, but this was very tasty. I don't know if we got big portions because we were the last order of the night and they just wanted to get rid of as much as possible or if they really give big portions, but we got a lot of food. We ordered the family of 4 meal and it would have fed 8, easy. The staff was very friendly and kind when my girls arrived, after closing. They didn't make them feel bad and even expressed concern for the drive in our lovely Salt Lake inversion fog. We will make the trip whenever we have a Chinese craving, for sure. read more

I absolutely love their house soup. It is consistently delicious. It has a lovely clear tasty broth, mixed with tender chicken ,delicious sweet pork, shrimp, wonton dumplings and diced green onions. It never disappoints. I have tried other items on the menu and I have never been unhappy with my order. Their tables and napkin holders are kind of sticky and need better cleaning. Hence the 4 stars. I started going here like five or six years ago when it was called Aromagarden, and a couple other different names. Now this one is awesome. (It's actually been Chinese Kitchen for a long while now). I usually get the same thing every time I go there and that is the regular Chow mein noodles with beef and broccoli, and either pineapple w/ chicken or orange chicken and it is literally cooked to perfection! Lol my mouth waters every time I go there, it is such a treat to eat their food. The owner there is also very very sweet and she's been telling me now for quite some time now to write a review on google plus or Facebook or whatever so I thought I would write a great review here that they deserve. So when you go there, try a couple different things. Get their Regular Chow mien noodles, beef n broccoli, and pineapple chicken. Yum!! Plus, if you get full early, you can just refrigerate it and enjoy the next day or the day after. Every worker and chief at Chinese Kitchen deserves this review!! I love the food, however service is something to be desired. I went with my husband and our four young children, my parents, and two young nieces. The woman who took our order came from behind the counter to aske if all the children were mine. When she found out that only the 4 where she went on and on about our family size and mentioned several times how that since I have two of each that I was done. I have been coming to the restaurant since it was named Fongs, it is under new management and called Chinese Kitchen. I have found the food to be very good and priced even better. I am offered samples and always get great service when there. My wife likes the soup especially the won ton soup as it is great when she is not feeling well. The food is always very fresh and the plate size is large so it will feed a hungry man. I highly recomend it for your Chinese fix. read more
