We stopped in here on a random evening craving some American-Chinese food, and boy am I glad we did. We tried their tangerine beef and ABC chicken, both yummy, saucy and filling with heaping portions. ABC chicken was a bit like a General Tso's -- sweet and a little complex with hint of spices, and tender chunks of breaded chicken that nearly popped in your mouth. With tangerine beef I was hoping for the flavor my old favorite PF Chang's dish, and this wasn't too far off. It just needed a bit more orange peel, but again, very good. Along side the entrees came a heaping bowl of steamed rice, easily enough for our entire table, which was a nice change from the usual skimpy bowls you get at other places. Though the small is not on the menu, they still offer a personal sized bowl of soup for $2.99 if you ask for it. But I don't recommend the hot & sour soup, just not enough sour or hot, it was the only miss of our meal. As for the atmosphere, it was fun enough, family-friendly, with Chinese lanterns hanging from ceiling and plenty of clean tables and booths. The ABC chicken and hot sour soup lost the spicy. Should have read previous reviews and I would not have been as disappointed. It was super busy for NYE of course so I was thinking perhaps the kitchen ran out of garlic, spices and vegetables. It would seem that their spicy recipes are cut way back perhaps to appeal to the more plain taste buds of Utahns. That aside, the serving size is huge here so ask for a takeaway box. read more

Walking into the place it's so CLEAN and well decorated and we were greeted so kindly from the host who made us feel so welcomed! She sat us right away and made sure we had drinks right away! We didn't know of their lunch specials so we came at the perfect time and the food was AMAZING!! I got the chicken lowmein and my husband got the beef and both plates came out popping hot and fresh. Great little spot. Food is very authentic and delicious. The combo portions are massive. A lot of the chinese places that I have visited are hit or miss. There is one that I won't name due West of ABC that I am not a fan of. The ABC Chicken is my favorite. Slightly spicy, sweet and rich. We've been here a few times and food is always very consistent. Went here for a New Year's Eve dinner recently. Most of our group got the ABC chicken, which was good. The sauce was not spicy as advertised and was a bit too sweet for me personally. We ordered pot stickers and they were very unusual. The dough around the pot sticker was very thick - almost like a bread dough. After a few bites my jaw was a bit tired from chewing through the dough. The egg rolls had a very slimy/fishy texture that nobody in our group liked. We all liked the Lo Mein Noodles, and the chicken was good - not great. read more

Was in the mood for some Asian cuisine. Gave this place a whirl despite some of the reviews I read. Here is the thing. The place was kinda meh... Don't order the crab, cream cheese ragoons. They were almost stale and a tiny little dollop of some kind of over deep fried filling. Pictures below. The hot and sour soup was a weird consistency. Super thick like jelly not soup like at all. Fried rice was super bland The ABC chicken I ordered was good but definitely sweet. We ordered a couple different things and were shocked at the lack of flavors. I tossed the leftovers and didn't bother eating them for my lunch the next day. That's when I know I was unimpressed. Bummer wanted this place to be great. Positives and negatives to my lunch experience today: the service was fast, the restaurant was clean, and the fried rice and cream cheese rangoons were really good. However, the rest of the food was meh. The hot and sour soup was more like a bland and thick au jus, the lunch entrees were really salty and soupy in sauce (I also got a huge chunk of ginger in mine.) The restaurant was almost empty, so the vibe was really quiet. I will say it is reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. I'm sad that I didnt like this place more... We ordered two dinner combos: ABC Chicken and Lemon chicken. Here's how it went... Started with the egg drop soup. The flavor was fine, but there was only like 3 corn kernels in it, and it was waaay too thick. Literally it was as thick as country gravy. Then the food came out. And every element of both dishes just left me thinking "well, this is TECHNICALLY edible..." The wontons were a joke. They were rock hard and had a small ball of some indiscernible substance inside. It looked like a moldy raisin inside. The egg rolls were just soggy. Like, they had been frozen and then thawed and all the frost just got absorbed. The rice was just fine. Nothing special about it but it tasted fine. The deep fried shrimp was fine. The lemon chicken was dry and crazy over breaded. They basically tenderized the hell out of it so it was about 1/4" thick, and then breaded both sides with 1/4" worth of breading. The lemon sauce was good, but was thick like a gelatin. The ABC chicken had great flavor, but the chicken was SOOO breaded it was like eating a small scone with a tiny bite of chicken somewhere inside. All the reviews are saying that a great thing about this place is how big the portions are... which is true. But completely pointless when you don't even want a box to take home the food that wasn't appetizing the first time around. Disappointed. I guess with each entree being $12, you get what you pay for? Okay growing up this was my favorite place - now we go out to a lot of places. I still think this is a pretty solid pick for lunch, the prices are good and the food is good so is the quantity (prepare to take home a lot!) My dad and I ordered the following: Crab wontons - these made me want to give a lower star rating. The felt like they were from a freezer. Hot and sour soup - best flavor! Today the soup was super thick which was unique, usually it isn't nearly as thick but flavor is in point. No other hot and sour soup compares. Beef with broccoli- my go to it's so yummy! ABC combo - my dad really likes this but the sauce isn't for me. Verify what sauce is on what dish you can do this by looking at the dinner menu but really for $24 we got so much food, each had a full meal for leftovers and it was yummy. I wouldn't say this is worth dinner prices, or somewhere I'd want to go out and order a drink but it's super solid for lunch! read more

So seriously, the finesse with which they handled one of my first "in-dining room experiences" since COVID-19 lands them this 5-star. 1. Everyone "masked up." (We were "masked up" too.) 2. Pitcher of water left at table. 3. Plenty of time to make decisions, and seated away from other diners w/o masks. (Not saying they didn't have them on when they entered.) Ordered Hawaiian Chicken which included cashews and snow peas - not my favorite, but experimenting. Portions were perfect. Ate and had a little left over for small lunch. This is the second time we have tried ABC and it was worse this time. Both times the food is sooo salty it taste sour and like it's bad or rotten. Of course we didn't eat it. It is overwhelmingly salty like our tongue started to tingle something is wrong with this place do not eat there. read more

This was an awful experience. Hot and sour soup was beef broth soup thickened up with minimal flavor. Crab cheese wantons were ok lacking in crab and flavor. Pot sticker were not potstickers, they were thickly breaded pork meatballs. ABC chicken was supposed to be spicy, but tasted straight up like sweet and sour sauce. We have been passing this place for a couple of years now but never stopped. So glad we did this evening. It was pretty busy but we were seated as soon as we were greeted. We had BBQ pork fried rice, sweet and sour pork, beef noodles, garlic beef, tangerine chicken and even tofu. IT WAS GREAT. The service was excellent, and the price was right. They removed an entire entree from my Door Dash order bc they were out of something. Didn't substitute anything, didn't call me.. just packed the order without it, leaving us without enough food for everyone. They refused a refund, refused to cook a substitution when I called. Drove there to get a refund and they refused, saying it was Door Dash's fault. DD blamed the restaurant, of course. Been eating at ABC for 30 years; the new owner was so rude this time, I'll never go back. Try RICE KING EXPRESS in Roy instead; food is better, faster, they don't put 5-spice in everting (yuck!), and they're NICE. Plus, they deliver it themselves and never mess up an order. So disappointed in our takeout order. Ordered ABC House specialties and it was nothing like it has been in the past. As you can see in the picture, The gravy should be brown. Instead the gravy was a light orange color with no flavor. I ordered the barbecue pork fried rice and got pork fried rice. Which has pork with no flavor! Also ordered Broccoli shrimp and it to has very little flavor because there was hardly any gravy. Very dry. House lo mein with rice noodles tasted like It was cooked in just soy sauce. The only items that had good flavor was the tofu with pork (again the flavorless pork) but the gravy was good. And paper wrapped chicken was good. I came to this restaurant because of a recommendation by family members. It was on the way home, so I took a chance. Like most people today, when ordering takeout the first thing you do is find the restaurant's website to look for a menu. I found their site and ordered. I was not informed of the total cost. So, I assumed it was the price stated on the online menu. When I picked up my order, I was shocked to discover the total was around $24! Of course at that point, it feels like you have no choice. I questioned the worker about the price difference. She explained that they had changed their prices, but hadn't done so on their website. in my opinion, they should honor the price online. Especially when a guest brings up the price difference. You would earn more return customers if you did. To me, it almost seems like a trick. Like they are purposely leaving the old prices up, knowing most people will not say anything. While the food is good, it's not worth the price and deception. I'll just return to my usual restaurant who serves the same food (and specific meal I bought), but at half the price. read more
