Well, sadly this place is a no for me. Husband wanted Panda Express and I'm not a fan, so I convinced him to try this place. I wish I had not done that. The pros: great prices, lots of foods, fast service. It only took 10 minutes to get our takeout order after calling in. The cons: the food. I ordered the kung pao chicken and I disliked it to the point of giving my husband puppy dog eyes so he would give me his sesame chicken. His sesame chicken was soggy, but the sauce was good and the chicken was tender. My kung pao chicken had a weird flavor. It was smoky and tasted strongly of ginger which is so different than any kung pao I've ever had. The hot and sour soup was inedible. The fried shrimp and egg roll were flavorless and paired with a weak, strange sauce. Fried rice was plentiful in quantity but lacking flavor. This place is worth a shot due to prices and service to see if you like it, but we won't be back. read more

It's your basic Chinese food stop in west Roy. Located in a strip mall, it is fairly roomy inside and they have takeout available. We tried several items on the menu and while nothing stood out as "wow" everything was decent. Pricing was good and they were speedy in preparing the takeout. Decent food and we will be back to eat there again, especially for the convenient location on the west side. read more

I really actually enjoyed their food. I ordered the chicken lo mein and it was very tasty, seemed like had a lot of butter though. Either way the veggies were crunchy, the rice noodles were tasty. Had fried chicken noodles, this was more what you'd think as a chicken lo mein at a low end food place. Had good chicken and not a lot of veggies, mainly chicken and noodles. Also got the sweet and sour pork. I think this was over fried. Was kind of dry and was the only negative. I ordered delivery, took about 40 minutes to get here so that's a bonus. So it's my first time here and I thought I try the typical meal at Chinese restaurant. What caught my eye was the word "authentic". The line is kinda long especially during lunchtime on weekdays because the local Roy High School kids are dinning there for lunch too. Spoke to a lady that ordered her food for to-go and she complained that her order was first before all the other customers who were seated and enjoying her meal. While they were eating she still haven't gotten her order. Small cafe style restaurant. Basically you stand in line to order and then you find a seat to sit down and they will bring you the meal. They made me give them 14 single rangoons, WITH MY BARE HANDS, out of my order that they initially had messed up. At first the delivery driver was kind, but then came back to my front door to retrieve 14 EXTRA rangoons out of my box after I had tipped her. After calling for a manager, they told me that the manager was off. Actually he/she was running errands. Verbatim. I'm extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the service Rice King has provided. Thank you for refunding me the discrepancy, but to ask me to give back food that had already entered my home was 100% unprofessional and uncalled for. I asked for my money back after being treated so unfairly and they declined. Their service was unbecoming. I don't recommend anyone to visit this establishment and hope no one ever does. I have heard a lot about this place so when my kids and I needed a place to eat while in the area I decided to stop in and try it. The outside of the place is not the most appealing and the inside is just a bit better. We were greeted right when we entered the restaurant. I was confused on the concept so I ordered at the register and chose a place to sit. I'm still unsure if it was a full service restaurant or not. I checked out the kitchen and I did not see any huge concerns. I will say there was a constant flow of people getting take out orders which made me think this place was going to be awesome. The food arrived really fast. The setup was interesting to easy the least. Some food was delivered in styrofoam (plates, cups, and bowls) and other food items came on plastic plates. My kids ordered the large egg drop soup and they pretty much are it all. I thought it was OK. I had the hot and sour soup and I really liked that. My daughter ordered the cheese wantons and both her and I thought the cheese was weird tasting. They had a lemony flavor to them. We were not fans of them and we would skip them next time. My other daughter ordered a side of ham fried rice. There was a lot of it. The rice was good but the ham was more like bologna. The texture and look of the ham was not ham. It looked like chunks of bologna. I'm calling out bologna fried rice! I ordered the orange chicken dinner with an egg roll. I didn't like the egg roll much, the flavor wasn't my favorite. The orange chicken was not good either. It seemed to have too much vinegar flavor and I kept searching for any orange flavor in it, none was found. The fried rice was the same bologna fried rice I described above. The rice was the best part of my dinner (besides the soup) What this place had going for it is cheap Chinese food with huge portions and what appears a big following. For me it was not my favorite. Maybe I ordered the wrong things but bologna fried rice is an indication it is not quality food but a cheap way to get a lot of Chinese food. read more

First off, let me begin by saying that I'm from the Asian Pacific, where absolutely delicious and amazing Chinese/Japanese food was easily found. I've also tried many other places such as Asian Bistro and China Fortune in Layton, as well as ABC Mandarin in Roy. This place is the ONLY place in the U.S. (that I've been to) that has the exact same (and yummy) Beef Broccoli that I had back home. I've also tried the general tso's chicken here. It could be better, but it's still really good. Living next to this place is a plus. As at as the actual restaurant, I've only gotten food to-go. They got my order wrong and when I called to have them fix it, the old lunatic woman who took my order was shouting that I made the mistake not her. I would also be weary of the meat they use, it might be rat or cat. They put a bunch of celery and onions in the noodles to make it seem like a full plate. I actually go to this place a lot, and I enjoy most of their food. (I hate beansprouts and onions haha) Their crab wontons are delicious and as are their fried pot stickers. I personally love to eat the pepper salt chicken. The chicken the use for General Tso's is nice and crispy and not dry. I really like the shrimp with asparagus. The "white sauce" they use with it is very good. The workers are nice, albeit a little difficult to understand at times. Their food is affordable and comes in large quantities. I suggest going earlier rather than later if you're going to eat there because they can get pretty busy around 6 and 7. Their menu is huge! It's like you never run out of new food to try. After Golden Dynasty closed I tried Rice King in West Roy. I went to the place and placed a to go order and several people came in after me and did the same but they all seem to get theirs before I did. Took it home was very pleased. Have been back a few times since but just call and go pick it up, much faster that way. I felt super sick after eating it (or attempting to eat it, most of it was My husband ordered sweet-and-sour chicken and it had really no crisp to it at all. We ordered the family deal, eggrolls, potstickers and crab wonton. Plenty of food! My husband picked up the food and the person at the counter was very nice. Our food was hot and yummy. My husband said the crab wonton was the best he's had in a long time. The kids ate everything. The beef and broccoli tasted fresh and it was my favorite. The potstickers (I got mine fried) were nice and crispy. I do wish they had a different potsticker sauce. Speaking of sauce they included plenty of sauces. Sweet & sour, soy, mustard, potstickers sauce. We had enough to feed a family of 5 with leftovers for dinner the next night. Perfect for take out! read more

Ordered general tso chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The general tso's had more breading than chicken, and tasted off. The sweet and sour sauce wasn't sweet and sour, it was a honey sauce. My husband had to run to Winco to buy sweet and sour sauce so it could be eaten. The egg rolls aren't egg rolls, they are fried spring rolls. We got sick from eating their food. I guess we'll just drive farther to Rice Bowl, where their food taste like real food and doesn't make anyone sick, and where you can get the best egg rolls in town. read more
