Went for carry out. Place was clean but you can tell they are struggling with the covid closures and it's effect on businesses. They revived at 100.0%!on their health inspection in March 24. The food was prepared as promised it was hot and flavorful. No complaints at all.

This place is a typical, average, run-of-the-mill, Chinese restaurant and take-out. We did not dine at the restaurant. It was closed due to COVID-19. We ordered take out. We had the Orange Chicken, some dumplings, and the Vegetable Lo Mein. The meals were of an acceptable quality. I found the Orange Chicken a little bit greasy, but tastefully spicy. The Lo Mein was pretty much the same you would have at any Chinese restaurant. The meat inside the dumplings had a strong taste of a mix of condiments. Prices are very reasonable. We paid roughly $35 for four meals. The place is very clean (100% A-rating), the service is fast, and the people who work there are very nice and polite. This is a good choice if you are at the beach and have a craving for Chinese take out. The restaurant is located in a strip mall in Avon, approximately on mile marker 56.5 of NC 12.

Called to ask when they closed, got hung up on. Was trying to be polite and not barge in last second, thanks for being rude!

It always impresses me to see how high their sanitation rating is being that they don't speak English very well.

Was craving Thai food and decided to ride over to Thai Moon for dinner. The food here is…read moreauthentically Thai cuisine and just delicious! WARNING: Thai Moon is carry out orders only & cash only so come prepared. This is a SMALL business so be specific with your pick up time and don't expect to be chatting up a storm with the staff here when picking up your food. They are working as fast as they can to get fresh food out and take orders. Please be mindful of this. All orders on the menu are custom made to your spice level from mild to Thai level hot. MOON EGG ROLLS These egg rolls were so deliciously fresh and crunchy. Every bite was full of minced pork, shredded carrots, cabbage and vermicelli. Dipped with their homemade sweet chili sauce, just divine! SHRIMP SPRING ROLLS Rice paper rolled with vermicelli, fresh greens, carrots, cilantro, and shrimp. Dip into the housemate peanut sauce for the best bite. Every bite was so crunchy and fresh, just delicious. The rolls were rolled nice and tight, zero spillage. Very impressed with how stuffed these were. So yummy. DRUNKEN NOODLES We got a medium heat and Thai level hot. Oh my lord these were tasty! We chose chicken for our protein. I love drunken noodles and Thai Moon's style is veggie and flavor heavy, just how I like it. Chewy, flat rice noodles, onions, tomatoes, chilis, garlic and fresh basil leaves; every bite was just an explosion of saucy flavors and textures. In hindsight, we should've just gotten medium because the Thai level one had us SWEATING and chugging our drinks. Delicious nonetheless, but note to self stick with medium if you like spicy, but want to enjoy your meal. Portions are generous, so you'll have enough for leftovers to enjoy the next day. Love the Thai food here, highly recommend!

We all understand that these little strip-mall Chinese places are not the apex of Chinese cuisine…read more That does not exist around here, but once in a while this sounds good to us and China King serves the purpose. First of all, it is very close to where we stay. Second, it is really an inexpensive meal for us. We always order the small portions for our meals and the small portion makes two meals at about $5-$6 per meal. Not bad! MS T is generally not going to order the spicier dishes and gets something like Chicken and Broccoli. I am always looking for a dish with pork or chicken and plenty of vegetables, in a brown sauce (not the clear wallpaper paste ones) and I want it spicy. China King is a little on the bland side, but my most recent order of Hunan Chicken, extra spicy, was really pretty good. We always make sure to have our own soy sauce, duck sauce and sambal oolek so we can dress things up a little. In this case I did not need more than an extra splash of soy sauce. They also make acceptable egg rolls. I don't know, but maybe they have gotten a little better over the past few years. It appears from the carryout I saw, while waiting for mine, that they do a good business. I will be ready for another visit before we depart in a few weeks. Three stars is A-OK with me.
